@spiegelbild90 no its not! its about one's love to a girl, the whole chorus is all about how he would live as ash to her feet and build her home and give his life for her to be happy.
@IGBB it is about how much this man loves a woman and what he would do for her...it is supposed to sound like the hebrew from the olden days of the bible.

I stumbled onto Idan, because I am studying Hebrew on a free site Hebrew 4 Christians, You learn at your own pace, it has sound and you can go through the Torah and much more. I like the daily sit blog that explains the upcoming Jewish holidays and Shabbat.
I never expected what I saw when I saw Idan and He is Hot! Hot! Hot!
He puts great romance in the Hebrew language and makes it beautiful to the listener.
Idan Raichel is a straight up hottie. His lyrics and music are brilliant. Pure poetry. I really didn't know anything about him when I went to see him in Washington, D.C. I was completely blown away.
I discovered this project yesterday, and this song today, but I've already fallen so in love!!! Just taking into account this one song, I've listened like 100+ times - no exaggeration. I've pressed play again and again for several hours straight. <3
seems like all the ppl who post either hateful or judgemental comments, calling idan fake or trying to be someone he's not, are in search of their own identities. he seems totally fine with who he is...
Wow I do not understand how some of the comments for this song can get so raw and hateful. For those jamaicans, jewish, rastafarians, does anyone know the lyrics of War from Bob Marley?, what's the deal if Idan Rachel is half black or half white? why we keep looking at someone's color?, whatever the story of arabs, jews or somebody else, we are God creation, period.
As far as I know he presents himself as an israeli perfomer not as a jewish performer. I've seen black, blond, mediterranean and caucasian israelis... what's the prob with his hair?

Who will take his life and place it beneath you, Who will live like dust at your feet, Who will love you more than all your lovers, Who will save you from the evil spirits From the deep depths? From the deep depths I call you to come to me, Across from the moon lighting your path back to me, They spread out and melted at the touch of your hands. Into your ear I whisper a question. Listen-- who is it that calls to you tonight (repeats the next 8 lines).
From the depths I called out to you Come to me Upon your return, the light will return to my eyes I am not finished, I am not leaving the touch of your hands May it come and light up to the sound of your laughter From the depths I called out to you Come to me Against the moon that lights your way back to me They spread out and melted against the touch of your hands In your ears I whisper, and ask who is that calling out to you tonight, listen up 1of2
..2of2 Who sings out loud to you, to your window Who gave his soul so you would be happy Who will give a hand and build your home Who will give his life, and put it beneath yours Who will live as dust beneath your feet Who will love you more than all other loves Who will save you from every living spirit From the depths... From the depths I called out to you Come to me..
Udinni - you are a retard :) you think the real Israelites are black? No! They were dark colored not white nor black. They were the same color as the Arabs, the same color as the Palestines, the same color as the desert, because they traveled a long way. Also people who traded goods in that area were all different. If we all looked the same, it would be a boring world. Not even 1 animal looks the same. There are no "pure" race for a specific culture or religion. It is false!
White people are white people because they stay in doors all the time...if white people weren't in doors all the time and getting more sun, then they'd be darker skinned the same skin color as Arabs, Palestines, Israelites, etc....it is a pure fact.
Trumpetz81-If that was true then all the tanning salons would all go out of business. I doubt its just the "red heads" that are keeping them open..lol
Believe me, that wouldn't put tanning salons out of business. What would put them out of business, however, is if Americans in general managed to somehow evolve into a more diligent society. Tanning salons, much like fast food restaurants, stay in business because of the collective laziness of this country. I say that as a citizen of America while seeing it happen firsthand all over the place. This country is pathetic.
I invite any Americans that read this to challenge me on my claim.

Superior and another inferior
Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned
Everywhere is war, me say war

And second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man's skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes
Me say war....

Most white people get Red not brown in the sun.
israelsprincess07 3 years ago
I brown in the sun lol. I'm not 100% white though. A lot of white people tan rather easily, believe it or not. Redheads don't, however.
Trumpetz81 3 years ago
Trumpetz81-If that was true then all the tanning salons would all go out of business. I doubt its just the "red heads" that are keeping them open..lol
israelsprincess07 3 years ago
Believe me, that wouldn't put tanning salons out of business. What would put them out of business, however, is if Americans in general managed to somehow evolve into a more diligent society. Tanning salons, much like fast food restaurants, stay in business because of the collective laziness of this country. I say that as a citizen of America while seeing it happen firsthand all over the place. This country is pathetic.
I invite any Americans that read this to challenge me on my claim.

I know knowledge so I am supreme over your shit.
If you want to know shit be my guest, but I will have the knowledge to spread around the world that is true and just.
