  • Just what I was looking for...Thanks.

  • Is procedure applicable for llama 22 lookalike? I cannot find a model number.

    Thanks

  • great video, short and to the point. I pick up my Custom CDP in ten days. Can't wait!

  • does anyone know why smith and wesson reverses the spring on their guns? they have you but the open end on the rod first.? seems like all the others do it closed end on first.

  • You must have really strong hands because I can't for the life of me press and turn the pin thing without using some type of tool and the spring usually flies across the room. lol

  • @jamesjr934

Oh you used a penny, didn't notice that the first go around...

  • Easy, fast video. I just bought a kimber 1911 classic stainless steel gold match. I had no idea how to take it apart, I own a glock 22, couple sigs. I finally a Kimber. I looks just like yours. LOL Regards.

  • Easy, fast video..LOL

  • Thanks for simple how-to. Exactly what I was looking for.

  • thanks for the refresher, right to the point

  • I like these kind of instructions, clear, efficient, instructional and productive. Kudos to angusmas

  • that is a sexy pistol!!!

  • Why does people in almost all the dissassembly videos only dissassemble the top part?

  • becuz der dumb ass thinks there dissasemblen but there only feild stripping the gun cuz there so stupid they dont know how to putt it all back together

  • How do you putt back together an M1911A1? I wouldn't think golfing would help you one bit in that endeavor...

  • no i ment thts just a gay feild strip

  • it's called field striping. this is the most the pistol need to be disassembled for cleaning and lubrication.

  • I didnt know there were so many parts to a 1911.

  • you have no idea... I did a complete tear down the day I got mine... there are parts in the trigger assembly that are tiny.... this is a GREAT video, shows you the quick way to be ready to clean. The complete tear down is a whole evening for a noob.

  • In between the 3 weeks that I posted that comment and now, I have learned so much about 1911's. I actually went out and put down a deposit on a Springfield GI and now I just have to wait until I am 21 (22 more days) to "DROS" it and start my 10 day waiting period. Im pumped!

  • Nice Gun! I shoot the Kimber Raptor II with some custom bits. I also have an Springfield XD. If I had to draw a weapon out of my nightstand to protect my home it would be the Kimber. If I am heading out to the wilderness I always take the XD. Aside from being more protective of my Kimber, my XD is easer to clean and I can abuse it and it will fire... and plus, if I ran out of ammo I would have no reservations about throwing my XD at someone :-).

  • I would have gone with a Kimber if weren't a poor college student. I also own an XD and I love everything about it.

  • Very nice...I hate it when people scratch the damn gun up not knowing what they are doing.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 fock me, my 1911 didnt come with disassembly instructions and i scratched the piss out of it the first time :(

  • How silly.

  • My God you did that so easy.

  • That's because it is so easy. Taking a 1911 apart is nothing.

  • Your right. I kept practicing and I got better at it and now it's real easy.

  • naked! o

  • just wanna share a kimber disassembly vid

  • Nice, one piece guide rod.

  • My god, that is just too many parts. HK USP is better. The Beretta is better too.

  • Is that how you judge a good gun? The fewer the parts the better? I have a single shot 12 ga. It only has 3 parts. It must be the best.

  • No, that's not how I judge a good gun. I am merely saying what I observed.

  • wrong

  • Have you ever shot a Kimber 1911? ... it's ridiculously accurate. Try it. The feel, trigger pull, and accuracy will make you say WOW!

  • Hes probably never touched a gun in his life.

  • i prefer the springfield TRP operator. But yeah, Kimber kicks ass too.

  • Ya i wanted the SA TRP operator. But it didn't come in stainless. So I went w/ the Kimber TLE II. Both very cool guns. ...man all this talk makes me want to hit up the range after work. ha!

  • wow, that stinks man, only because they do make a stainless "operator" style model, but it doesn't have a rail, but still has adjustable sights, night sights, beavertail, 6lb trigger pull, ambidextrous crap, and a nice pachmayr hand grip. I think it is just called the TRP "loaded" or something like that, but it is in SS, i shot one at Scottsdale Gun Club the other day, shot real good ^_^, but noticed it had more kick than the Kimber.

  • the come apart in like 5 seconds or a taurus nockoff but i still like my 45 its my baby

  • If u ever see the take down of a p95 ruger or a hk45 u will forever hate the 1911 .45

  • Ya I'd just keep the stock sights if I was you, the newest Custom II's also have even further improved sights with the forward slant on the rear surface. Basically there's not a thing on the new ones that needs changing, except things for cosmetics only like maybe the grips. They're great guns, never had a single problem with mine, even more than I can say for my Glocks, you'll love it.

  • hey man im new to guns. disassembly of bushingless 1911 the same as the ones with barrel bushing? im planning to get one soon, and its gonna be a kimber.

  • Yes, I put on smooth cocobolo grips, and the sights are actually a similar height to the stock Kimber sights (which are excellent), I simply prefer the ghost ring Novak I have on it here. Much faster target acquisition.

  • Stainless II

  • Haha, that's not going fast yet bud, that's just basic disassembly, I can cut that time in less than half if I'm in a hurry.

  • that's so impressive. you're awesome

  • I can strip it and reassemble it in a little bit more time (47:81 timer)

  • that's a nice lil trick using that penny there. Nice speed, man.

  • I think a re-assembly video should be made now!

  • Okay heres the reassembly vid, play it backwards

  • Kimbers are o.k, but the Wilson Combats kick ass. I have a Wilson Combat Classic and I love that gun to death

  • I think it should be mandatory that every american has one of these. LOL

    Nice gun man.

  • damn thats alot of parts

  • He field stripped it. Had he REALLY stripped it, there would have been 4x more parts.

  • now lets see u put it back together...

  • Nice little Video I was wondering though could you maybe do another one showing the very beginning where you took the spring out so nicely... On my kimer Eclipse custom. I seem to have to turn that end piece to get the spring out.. How did you do that??

We need more people like you that show how to do these things.. Also put up a video that shows cleaning and reasmbly

    Thanks ahead of time.

  • Something every American needs to be able to do..

As an owner of 3 1911s .. you know 'm going to be a subscriber..

    Keep posting

  • Don't forget us north of the USA! ;) We love the 1911 too!

Faster than I can strip mine... maybe you are using a newer penny? ;) Now show us how fast you can get it back together!
