Just played the demo today. And from just those 2 races I'm pretty convinced. The whole ability to actually see your character and experience the outside world while also being able to race is a great idea. It gives it that Grand Theft Auto sort of feel but at the same time still keeps the whole NFS concept with the fast paced racing. Can't wait to get it!

the actual race track design feel like underground 1, the road super shiny, the left right signs, but different color. No options for vinys and custom thats a big minus, but it looks interesting....i've seen worst.

oh well another case of promising idea badly executed. Just tried the demo and while the concept of a coast to coast race is awesome... its just the concept. its still a bunch of short races. they're all full of hollywoodness on them, which is actually cool, but the gameplay is just frustrating and boring. i was kind expecting a more seamless racing experience, something like test drive unlimited but more linear.

also the game runs on a really crappy resolution and looks ugly because of that.

i understand they CANT make it so you'd destroy your car, because theyd have to make the game WAY easier so people wouldnt crash as much, which would make it TOO easy. and if they made the crash realistic, ie your character gets seriously injured, you make your car undrivable, etc, then like i said a lot of crashes would still happen if they didnt adjust the skill level required, and a lot of races would end. but i think most people for some reason dont use their heads and cant understand that.

i personally think its a great idea what they are doing. yea its a little fake with the jumping from roof top to roof top but come on guys think about all the times you have played NFS and crashed... but the car still drives just as fast and strait as it did right off the line. If your a true NFS player you would see that NFS was never realistic from day one. this looks like a fun game and i will buy it. never had to switch cars when i crash by getting out and running to get in another.

After Porsche Unleashed, they've all turned to shit. :( Try playing that one and tell me it's arcadey or unrealistic. Maybe a little -- it's a GAME, afterall -- but nothing like this crap. They actually cared about Physics and damage models back then.

I'll bet it locks the steering/throttle when you cross a certain point which is a shame cause a Mass Effect style game with multiple possible storylines seems better than some kind of God of War game type. Look at the second race-ender, the chopper shooting that fuel truck. There's no avoiding that it seems, so I think there's no avoiding the car either. Too bad.
