  • how would one fit the decoder for the power car and dummy car two work

  • Very nice what parts would one need for the intercity ?

  • Thanks. Both the Hornby power car and dummy have the 8 pin DCC socket fitted as standard so it's very easy to fit the decoders. The only problem is the "s" in decoders, ie you need two - and at £100 or so each .... ! To get them to run in sync, you obviously have to programme them to the same address. Other than that, it's that simple.

  • So wonderful!! Hyfryd iawn!

  • Diolch yn fawr!

  • OMG is that great or what! Well done.

  • Thank you for your kind words!

    All the best.

  • When the hst pulled away I actually thought I might see two plumes of exhust being thrust skywards, perhaps one day models might included such a feature

  • Thanks fortaking the time to comment. I have seen what you're talking about, but they don't look too realistic. However, as you say, maybe one day ....... !

    All the best.

  • Nice sound :)

Please can I ask who makes the arches you have in the background? Thanks

  • Thanks. Sorry, but I've had them for so long that I simply can't remember.

  • From 1:09 on makes me smile.

  • Hopefully for all the right reasons!

  • @fiskersham Yes. The sight of an Inter City HST whooshing past is a joy to behold, in model form or otherwise....

  • The best sound for a HST so far. Brings back a lot of good memories.

  • Thanks. I'm glad you liked it.

    All the best.

  • Sounds very good ...fast mover!!

  • Thanks. As I mentioned in an earlier comment, it's a bit extravagant having a sound decoder in both power cars, but it's worth it.

  • awesome, i have an intercity 125 hst, looks just like that but with no sound, jus an old fashioned one. your layout is very impressive.

  • Thank you.

I had the earlier Hornby HST set in which I'd put a motor into both power cars. Even then, it still wasn't as reliable as the newer model. Not cheap, but worth the switch if you can afford it!

    All the best.

  • Very very very very nice !!!!!......

  • Thanks. To fund this I sold twelve old Lima and Hornby locos on a well known internet auction site just to get this one setup, but I really think it's worth it. I see from your videos that you've switched to sound as well. No going back once you've made the move!

    All the best.

  • Lol ! It's the future......i have started the slippery slope in o gauge too, you should hear the difference with the bigger sound chip on a class 47 ..... it's like standing next to the real thing !

  • hi there! can you buy the sound chip for the hst buy its self, or do you have to buy the loco aswell?

    cheers :)

  • Hello. No, you can buy the sound decoder and speaker separately from either South West Digital or Olivia's Trains.

    All the best.

  • ok, thanks

  • wow 5*

  • Thanks!
