  • I miss this man:,(

  • This may be a bit sad or whatever, but I'm not gonna lie: I got shivers when this started.

  • @Naikora Dude let me tell whats wrong with music today. It doesn't send shivers up your spine. Music is supposed to make you feel. Why would we just sit their and listen with no emotion. LOL that is why emo was born. LOL hahaa omg. rofl can't get enough of the music revolution.

Be sad that Elliot is no longer with us only in sound, R.I.P ol friend.

    (Rewind If Played)

  • This song is amazing!!!!

  • You can't help me, If I never asked you for help !

  • this makes me know that somewhere, elliott is okay

  • can't stop listening!

  • @LSBroseph777 Go to vidtomp3.com, and paste the url. Message me if you have trouble! :)

  • My friend. Thanks for the memories of today and old, and your music that helped carry me though, just between me and you. So, now that you're gone, you leave me this wordless song. With feelings so lost, but yet found. Though we missed at our final fork of the road ... it's okay. Til we meet again ... see you in heaven.

    R.I.P. Brother!

  • I can't listen to this without smiling.

  • As a musician, this is what I'll play as my last song (at my last concert and before I die). I want this played at my funeral, too.

  • where can I buy this?

  • Laughing like a little kid !

  • Beautiful!

  • Holy Shit Elliott I miss you so much R.I.P Brother

  • I have the feeling Elliott threw stuff away that the average professional musician would kill to have written.

  • See you in heaven, Elliott.

  • Unreleased?? What's wrong with these ppl??!

  • @MarcoBariani he died before he could do the vocals. it was meant to have signing

  • y ahora que?

  • muy bueno elliot alla donde este

  • thanks elliott for singing what you did how you did R.I.P. elliott smith

  • I hope I get to heaven so I can see you there Elliot.

  • Amazing song, conveying images of the past in my mind every time I listen to it.

  • pfff ptdr il parle de moi mai c'est quoi ta merde sal merdeux de met couile vas te coucher enculer de ta race trimard tu me fait rire baltringue tu ouvre ta ptin de gueule met vas si fait pas ton beaux

  • I really wish this was available on iTunes. Was this unreleased & not on any album?

  • this intro get me everytime

  • That was nice. Top effort! Keep up the good work young man! :(

  • Anywhere this can be bought/downloaded? :O

  • Haha, even without his voice he has a really distinct style you can tell instantly

  • is that Paul Gilbert at 2:33? if not it sure looks like him

  • Too creepy.

  • See you!

  • if there is a heaven, Mr. Smith, I sure hope I do.

  • i cant explain how much i cry everytime i hear this i just cant help it, how much i would give to spend a day with him and just walk and talk, play some music together maybe, he just seems like such a beautiful person because of the fact that he was just another person, except he had an incredible gift, he could potray human emotions so easily, his lyrics are like paintings

  • @peacelovemusic2461 and even without lyrics he was able to capture a feeling of hope or sadness, like in this song at some parts you cant help feeling so hopeful, and yet then you sink down into depression at parts, but then get hopeful again

  • Thanks and Happy Christmas

  • 1:52 Mr. Smith looks like Mr. George Harrison

  • so pretty, what a loss...

  • Elliott okayed my life.

  • so many of these photos i've never seen, not until i watched this post, cheers

  • What a great song...I wonder how much more unreleased material there is and when we will get to hear it.

  • @timberbothy2 I don't know if you know, but if you do a google search, there's literally about 50+ songs available for free download somewhere. Just google "Basement 2 Demos" and you should find it. Some really great tracks that must have not made the cut for his last album before he died.

  • @Ceb773 I didn't know that! Thank you for the heads up!

  • jingle bells :D

  • Every time I hear this song I want to sing SOMETHING over it. But it never sounds quite right.

  • This gives me fucking chills every time I listen to. Absolutely perfect, from the beginning to the end. We've lost a genius. Sad world...

  • omg is that beck? cool

  • I heard this had lyrics & melody as well... That'd be so cool to hear.

  • 4:12 I painted my room the same color 3 months ago.

  • i hope that im wrong and that Heaven does exist. then i'd really be able to see Elliott there.

  • When That Melody Reprises in the Bass I cry

  • So Heavy

  • this song is amazing without vocals. I elliott made some vocals to this i would dare to say that this would be one of his best songs. see you in heaven too elliott

  • Thank you Youtube. And Jfar.

  • clickin the replay button again and againnnnnnnn!

  • no.. this IS love

  • ive always liked this song since i first heard it over 3 years ago. it reminds me of a brian wilsonesque instrumental: a little more raw but with that same musical sense of humour

  • wow the music sounds amazing, too bad there's no lyrics ::sadface::

  • GODDAMN IT, ELLIOTT! Why couldn't you have done the vocals for this song before you left us. It would have been perfect.

  • 8 years today ;_;

  • @floatinginspace100 And 'all day I'm looking for someone to think of him today. Here at last, just choose the right song. As he does so to excite, how could he stay long, he left us these gifts, but he had to go, it was not just like us. Really belonged to heaven, and there we'll find it in peace

  • it seems to tell my subconscious his life ended on a good note.... sometimes you just have to let it all go to finally find some peace. :(

  • Perfect as always. Surprised this only has 16,XXX hits, I have had this one for years.

This was our wedding song! Thanks so much elliott.

  • This sounds suspiciously like Quasi.

Does anyone know if Sam coomes was involved, I'm pretty sure there is at least some roxichord in there

  • @dhammond249 they're definitely on this track. I know Janet's drumming anywhere. They were basically one band around this time (2000).

  • See you there I hope Elliott. RIP, much love

  • i can genuinely listen to this and feel like he's singing to me like i can hear him singing even though he isn't...it awesome

  • if his life were a movie, this song would be playing during the end credits.

  • It's like he doesn't even need words to speak to you. That's what makes a good musician.

  • Hey where can I get this song ? I am assuming it isn't on Itunes if it's unreleased but is there a download link or anything ?

    Thank you

  • I love you Elliott.I'll see you in Heaven,I hope.

  • That's exactly what i thought when i first heard this song. It makes me tear up..

  • he looks like elliott smith at 1:50

  • kinda looks like anthony keidis at 1:50

  • After a bottle of wine, me and my girlfriend just started bawling. I really never thought after years of listening to Elliott this moment would come, but I'm just so sad he's gone. Nearing the 8th anniversary of his death, and I just can't believe I couldn't have seen him sooner.

  • ELLIOTT, POR QUÉ TE FUISTE!!!!!

  • I would want my family to play this at my funeral. Maybe it will bring me back to life.

  • This is beautiful, but it breaks my heart to not here him singing. It kind re-enforces the fact that he's gone..

  • silly people saying things to make themselves seem like deep, intelligent beings...just stfu and listen to the fucking song

  • @EuphoricDuffer may i hug you sir, you retrospectively hijacked my words

  • @EuphoricDuffer

    Amen to that!

  • its him looking kinda sideways...i think its actually like the first picture of him when you google image him, which seems kinda arbitrarily picked but it fits the bill really well. what about you? and is it also on your leg?

  • this is what my suicide sounds like

  • i'm getting him tattooed on my leg

  • @HotBreakfist Beat you to it. It's a phenomenal idea though. Which portrait are you going with?

  • fuck a declaration of independence, we need the document with these lyrics on it!!!

  • Lol, he isn't singing!

  • I love how everyone interprets this song differently. That's what shows what a beautiful song it is.

when I hear this song, even without words, it's just a reminder that everything is going to be okay, no matter what. it just speaks to me, and that was something Elliott was great at.

his soul was taken way too soon. you are missed, Elliott.

  • AHHH, if only Elliott made words to this.

  • master of chords

  • Did he actually name this "see you in heaven" ? Or did someone else name it after the fact?

  • @rach6st don't know if anyone actually answered you but I'm pretty sure Elliott named this himself. I was reading one of his old interviews with Under the Radar mag (don't know why at all) and "See You in Heaven" is one of the tracks they reported on.

  • I hope to see you in Heaven Elliott...one day, one day...

  • One of my favorite Elliott songs. I really think he was one of the best songwriters that ever lived.

  • love and miss you so bad, Elliott. hurts.

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck I wish we knew the lyrics

  • Hearing his music without his voice just makes me miss him that much more...

  • The most beautifully moving tune as a farewell an artist could leave behind.

  • I wish this song never ended.

  • This is better than good. It's uncanny... and It makes me miss things that I don't have anymore... Of course, isn't that what all of us miss? Do we not all feel longingly for that childhood that was barely given to us?

  • I'd go to Heaven just to hear Elliott sing this.

  • I wish this song was never ending

  • great song, legendary artist.

  • This is what falling in love sounds like.

  • @Xachyy I fall in love every time I hear this

  • Right on, thanks for the up. Read about this song but never heard it. If you're a fan of music, check out this man's albums. RIP

  • sorry to inform you

this was NOT recorded for roman candle

this was a song he was working on during the "...from a basement on the hill" era

towards the end of his life

    it was never released

  • @vuvaladusi yea i was confusing it with kiwi maddog 20/20

  • @vuvaladusi yeah, it sounds more like "from a basement" than Roman Candle..., roman candle had a more acousticy thing to it..

  • unreleased? im pretty sure this was on roman candle

  • @northkato Which version of Roman Candle do you have? I've got all his albums and had never heard this song before.

  • you still got it Elliott.

  • Why so less Views

  • unvbelibavle song.

    i cant hear without crying.

he is the only star of mine.

  • such a beautiful instrumental - i can only imagine how moving the vocal melodies and words would've been
