The post-game comments are all understandable and natural. But communicating them towards the camera, they should sound a bit more composed and professional.
Ayano is weird! I've not seen that style before. However, I think she uses a righthanded ball with a lefthand designed hook (pin axis?) and rotates her wrist from 6 o'clock position (curled approach wrist) to 9 o'clock position, instead of 3 o'clock position of righthanders usually do.
Thanks for your comment. I fully agree with you. Not only bowling, a part of Japaneseprofessional sport players tend to be flippant even after losing the game.
As you said I also think they should be more professional at least on public stage.
I also watched Ayano's perfornance with much interest. Though it may be interesting if she could join p-league (of Couse she must show stable performance). Howver I think JPBA is conservative, so not sure if they accept Ayano's Style.
Sorry for pouring on with the comments.... I forgot that even I used to throw the backup ball for some of my spares. As a right-hander, I used to throw a somewhat backup ball cross-lane for my 6 and 10 pin leaves. I would also use it to convert the 5-10 or 4-10 splits, and at times I was successful. My philosophy was that, on spares, I liked having the ball roll towards the target, rather than away from it, and also utilize the left side of the lane by staying away from the channel.
Backup ball is actually natural for the female wrist. The construction of the wrist on a female differs from a male. Back during my junior bowling days of the 1980s, there was a woman bowler who averaged 210 bowling this way. One would say she was a "house bowler," and that could be true. But, she had a smooth form, and everything looked natural. Yes, you could never use this form and compete on the pro level. But, as a once-a-week league bowler, this style is fine. Still better than spinning!
Bad match!!! Nakamura's speed was just too slow. The equipment change midway was actually the right move, but she still couldn't figure out the speed. Yanagii didn't bowl great either, but at least she picked up her spares. Sakai continues to miss single pin spares. She looked out of balance and timing. I'm only bummed that Sakai is out of #37. As for Sato, I watched all of Furin Kazan, and I HATED IT! Least favorite taiga drama (Toshiie to Matsu is my fav.) Maybe she likes Gackt! Just kidding!
Cretainly, the game was not so nice. A few seris before, Mr. Maruyama commented Nakamura was under re-construction of her form. Though she may put priority on cvontrol, I think her form lost dynamism. Sakai may be embrassed with first mistake, and it may lead to another. Yanagi also admitted she was not good and was fighting with such herself during the game.
As for Satoh, she says she read furin-Kaza with novel. Taiga Drama may be embellished. I mentioned it in my commentary since I could not find page for novel in Wiki. In overseas countries there should be many people who does not know what the daiga drama is. I thoght even page for taiga drama may help their understanding.
@yuppiehi I feel like Nakamura needed a different attack strategy rather than a ball change... or at least a ball change to something that didn't have such a similar motion. She went from high (nose) to less high (consistently leaving 4 pins) so there was something else that needed to be adjusted too.
Agree with you that this game was won by closing frames but this is probably the ugliest overall match I've seen in a while xD
Now that's what I call potential. Unlike the couple of girls I saw (yeah, yeah, those idols that were showcased after the E game). The approach, and I mean before releasing the ball, is kinda awkward but if it's resulting to knock all 10 pins then it works. I wonder how she'll fair on difficult oil patterns such as the cheetah, scorpion or as such.
We have bowlers in the US that throw a "backup ball"; sometimes it is called a "cutter" release. There are no pros here with that style. You are correct in thinking it is hard to generate consistent power with that style. However if there is very little oil on the lanes they can make bowlers with a big hook look bad by getting more strikes and marks.
Pefornace of Ayano Iwai seems to be more impressive for both of you than the games.
I was also amazed her thorow. if she could be stable, backup would be interesting characteristics in p-league. On the other hand, I think JPBA is conservative organization, so it is a bit doubtful for me whether JPBA will accept her style or not
Is that one lady throwing a Virtual Gravity Nano? Sweet!

Thanks for your comment. Maybe you mean Ayano Iwai. She is just amateur working in bowling alley as temporary worker, accoerding to oficial website.
I think her backup is amazing, but her voice is like maid we can often see Akihabara.

higashi1343 1 month ago

higashi1343 1 month ago

それにしゃべり方がもろアキバ系(^_^);

Reading your coment, I remembered I also used to throw backup ball to get 6-10 or 10 pin only long time ago. It was also successful for me.
However I think it is very difficult to continue strikes like Ayano.

Ayano's perfornace may be better than 2 idols in last week, but her voice is a very idol (a bit childish for 22 years old).
