@aleiaxx the only major problem for teletoon retro is that they use retro shows that we're not really on teletoon (yogi bear, flinstones, hanna barbera, etc)
we need some real TELETOON like ROBOROACH,ANGELA ANACONDA,NED'S newt !!
I remember there used to be a couple of YTV ID's that showed a periscope submerging in a bowl of soup and a man coming out of a toilet. What were those all about? I wish someone had those, they used to scare the living daylights out of me.
I think I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time and I had the flu when this aired. THe first time I ever this I threw up all over my TV room. Thanks for the memories YTV!!!
Does anyone remember a show called (correct me on spelling) "Xtreme" or "Extreme" with all the random clips of sports and other stuff with music playing the whole show? And at the end of the show they showed the track list of all the bands that had a song played in the show of that episode? It played early to mid 90s if I can remember correctly. Can anyone remember and help out on tracking this amazing show down?
I know! i miss that. I used to look foward to waking up for cartoons, but nowadays, I don't care. It really sucks. They should do a 90s special one time. That'd be awesome :)
I remember the ones with the chair and the blender.... this is around the time when i saw cable TV for the first time at someone else's house, and i still couldn't get used to the fact that you could keep pushing the channel button, and there'd be a station one after another.... hahaha
back in those days, cable TV had around 40 channels too LOL, and i thought that was a lot!! of course, back in those days, before the specialty channels were invented, cable TV was garbage because all you'd get are different CBC, CTV, and STV stations from around the country, all with the exact same programming....
haha I sound like an old man talking about the good ol' days, and I'm only 22 LOL
and be proud: ytv was the first north american television station to air it... ratings were so high and the show was so in-demand that the last 17 eps of SMR were dubbed specifically for the canadian viewers~!
I find this totally, totally amusing... but in a good way. You see, I'm 32 and remember being a young teen when YTV signed on in 1988. To me, THIS is they YTV I remember and will always cherish. It's weird how you'll never see it through my eyes and I'll never see the YTV you grew up on through yours.
I think that's where the sloagan "Keep It Wierd" came from. I remember these pretty well because I was 16. That flipping tiles one nearly broke my brain.
I wonder whose idea that spinning chair one was? I hope whoever created that station I.D. got fired for that boner.
Does anyone remember the pre-PJ years of YTV? Back when they played Fat Albert and My Favorite Martian (cartoon) reruns? In between programs they would play a series of mini vignettes... old stuff, like Edward Lear's "The Jumblies," and various folk tales, and people talking about faces, etc. YTV doesn't remember these, they're so old. Anyone besides me recollect?
