I never loved GHWB so much as when his numbnutts son was president. I prayed so hard that it was all a nightmare... and wished George HW Bush was again president instead of this crass, trash idiot. Things had to be really awful for me to even think in those terms. GHWB understood the reasons for NOT drilling in the gulf... and he knew why it was a very, very bad idea to oust Saddam Hussein and stir that deadly hornet's nest. W... you idiot... rot in hell, scumbag!
to bush : you a fucking asshole you fucking dick i hope you fucking burn in hell for what you did now look at what you did dont blame it all on bp this asshole should have to answer to this i hope that this catastrophe closes off shore drilling for ever .... fucking dick thank god your not around anymore to make dissensions
poor George - he thought he'd won the war in Iraq and it went on for how many more years and now this ..... and now americans are blaming Obama ? sad, very sad.
and reading a prepared text, fumbling - does he know what he is doing ? did he know ?
NO OFF SHORE DRILLING for your fucking oil buddies! You Mr. Bush have raped this country enough! GO FUCKING AWAY!
Isn't sending four thousand of America's next generation to their graves for YOUR FUCKING OIL enough for you? You do not speck for the American people, you speak only for the GREED you and your Republican henchmen lust after! GO FUCKING AWAY!
The problem with offshore drilling is not just that it means possibly befouling Florida's and California's coastlines and disrupting tourism but, more importantly, that it does NOTHING to lower the price of oil or gasoline, which is what the voters are demanding.
Oil companies HAVE the leases they need right now. They refuse to drill because they *like* huge profits. As President, and as an oil man, this is Bush's job to fix and he does nothing but continue to mislead voters.
Patricus1749 is wrong. Cant just say no more oil! We are looking for altern energy sourses but it will take time. No more oil is great. But you cant expect people to go out and buy 25000 dollar Hybirds. We are talking about here and now. We need to drill. Just the NEWS of us allowing off shore drilling will lower gas prices right away. News of anything effects gas prices. Huricane Katrina hurting the oil rigs in the gulf that caused gas to go way up.the news of this will have to lower it.
The ball is in Congresses hands now, Let them vote on Off Shore drilling now and be judged in November. People want to hold the President responsible for gas prices but he is not the one sitting on his ass not doing his job. The Democratic controled congress is..
Its only a quick fix to a bigger problem. Americans must look for alternative energy sources and/or look for ways to use energy more efficiently. The way we use energy is the problem. Amercans are addicted to wasteful fossil fuel consumption, lifting the ban is like giving a heroin addict more heroin as he trying to get off heroin. It's a viscious cycle. We are sweeping the dirt under the rug.
The problem is that it doesn't change the price of oil or gas one penny until some time in the distant future and does nothing to begin our shift to advanced energy sources.
There is nothing that prevents oil companies from beginning to look for oil on the endless supply of land they are already leasing today.
In other words, President Bush is lying to the American people again.

This is not a solution for anything. Just creating more disasters. Very very sad. Embarrassing really.
