If man must eat flesh, at the least, let it be done lovingly. Pray for every animal that is being killed, not for some diety or the other but simply to appease human hunger. I understand your concern, but I have read that this is a Vedic ritual. Is Vedic different than Hindu? Does it not seem that they are doing this in a way to literally fertilize the earth? How can we live in a world of peace when you take the live of an innocent being without any regrets, how can we live in a world of peace when you learn to your children that killing a innocent being is a good thing. If you could feel only 1 second what these animals feels before they die, you would not do these again. I had no idea that Hindus were so barbaric! But it is also true that this is a special cult of Hinduism I think and not all Hindus do this type of sacrifice. But it is true that there are whole chapters in the Vedas, the Hindu Religious texts detailing blood sacrifices. I am told that there is such or near such activity even in Buddhism, secret rituals etc.
