  • If man must eat flesh, at the least, let it be done lovingly. Pray for every animal that is being killed, not for some diety or the other but simply to appease human hunger. Talk to the being about to be killed, bless it, ask it for its life, for its sacrifice, then lovingly kill it and lovingly use every part of its body - in other words, honor the animal, who gives its body to satisfy man's hunger.

  • Yes. The conscousness of Humanity should be raised so that they stop living in fear. Of-course people eat flesh, and have been doing to the remote past, but it is the "way" in which this is being done.

We can only hope and pray that in the coming future, animals will not be torchered and abused. and buthered so heartlessly. You know they have nervous systems, a brain, spinal cord etc. and feel anxiety, pain, fear, just like humans do.

  • Hindus - shocking. They are supposed to be vegetarians. Big fat lie. We have been deluded. The people of India should be marching in hordes to stand up against these practices. Halal as well, Kosher too, all barbaric practices. Scientists have proven that the best way to kill an animal is to shoot it in its brain with a gun if you must. BE A VEGETARIAN.

  • @28janya22 Please don't label these practices as being Hindu...it is not the religion, it is the understanding of the followers that needs to be changed. This is not about a particular group or a comparison of religions, it must not be that. It must be an entreaty to the practitioners of animal sacrifice to question their cause for such action.

  • @KhenpoDarma

I understand your concern, but I have read that this is a Vedic ritual. Is Vedic different than Hindu? Does it not seem that they are doing this in a way to literally fertilize the earth? Blood and its constituents as "fertilizer", for prosperity, better harvest etc.? And after all, everyone showing up there, with a goat or bird in hand are professed Hindus aren' t they?

  • @28janya22 There are many other professed Hindus who are vegetarian and make vegetarian offerings. Again:

This is not about a particular group or a comparison of religions, it must not be that. It must be an entreaty to the practitioners of animal sacrifice to question their cause for such action. It is about a plea to end the suffering of sentient beings. Namaste.

  • @KhenpoDarma

OK. These groups should be educated, is what you are saying. Show them the error of their ways. Its a matter of conscience and awareness. Some people have it inborn, others do not. The recognition of suffering to another caused by oneself, is directly related to conscience. Some people just do not have one, or have one that is undeveloped, so you are right, the suffering must become clearly evident. Namaaste.

  • @28janya22 Yes. It is about kshamata and avashyakta...according to capacity and need...and what occurs and is taught and is learned is "process." What is gained is the end of suffering. Those who pass achieve "vilaya" (nonduality) and those who fail "vinasha." (are turned to ash.) May all beings be freed from the causes of suffering.

    Namaste.

  • @KhenpoDarma

ok. so then, what can someone living at the other end of the Earth do at an individual level to bring awareness to the people who come to Nepal for sacrifice? Who will tell them? Only the people of Nepal can do that, I think.

  • @28janya22 This is why the the skillful means start with the meditation of the Guru....Then obtaining precepts the Guru concentrates and spreads this information throughout the earth much as a satellite delivers information to us... and when a person realizes that they are suffering, and that they are unable to help themselves in their present state of mind, they seek a higher consciousness. In this dedication to improvement becomes able to heed with the heart the guidance of the Guru/s.

  • @Gangboi

BBC reports that it is impossible to change this practice. Change the culture, educate and change the man. Get rid of the priests.

  • Even if nepal people held these kind of sacrifices every day it would match how many "innocent" animals Americans kill for their processed cans and meats. The Us and other countries pretty much raise animals for slaughter too, and a lot more.

Unless your vegetarian like me your wrong.

Oh by the way, don't go bringing your god crap "fairyfantastic", we all don't have the same religion.

  • Thank God for you and yours who protest against this horror !

As an activist i'm 'used to something ' but this is really shocking and horrific !

i know not all Hindu's support this and are protesting against it also, that is positive.

Please let some good SHRINKS explain to me what it is with 'humans' and their bloody need for torturing animals all over the world huh ! ! because to me it is beyond believe .......it is a bloody, gruesome develish act , nothing else.

  • I know God loves all of His creations. We don't need to do this to prove to Him that we love Him. Instead we should make our world a better world, not making it worse.

  • @fairyfantastic Yes.

  • A message for all the people around the world that sacrifice’s animals for religions.

How can we live in a world of peace when you take the live of an innocent being without any regrets, how can we live in a world of peace when you learn to your children that killing a innocent being is a good thing. We need to have respect for people that love and protect every single being, and not to kill and have pleasure with that. God creates you to love and protect not to kill and destroy

  • @letouriste007 Thank you!

  • If you could feel only 1 second what these animals feels before they die, you would not do these again. And the most disturbing thing in all of this is the fact that you associated this violence to God. You try to find the way to god by violence. Or violence is the opposite of god. I don’t ask to any of you to change your philosophy about it, but just to see the reality. And I’m sure God will thank for that.

  • Religions teach you to achieve an accomplishment of your consciences, but sadly a lot of people have a bad interpretation of what they read. I hope the next time you just put yourself in the mind of the animal you will sacrifice, and see how scary he is, how difficult it is for him. Feel what they feel, and maybe things will be better. Peace to everyone.

  • Once a Buddhism land, now Nepal is a Hinduism land with almost 90% of its population.Sacrifice is everywhere.

  • "Sacrifice" takes place throughout the world. The world eats more meat and kills more animals than ever before. May Gadhi Mai influence other people to rethink their habits! Thank you for responding, LBJ!

  • @KhenpoDarma

I had no idea that Hindus were so barbaric! But it is also true that this is a special cult of Hinduism I think and not all Hindus do this type of sacrifice. But it is true that there are whole chapters in the Vedas, the Hindu Religious texts detailing blood sacrifices. I am told that there is such or near such activity even in Buddhism, secret rituals etc.

  • @Lbj23ownKb24Mj23 idk what you mean but if you're saying that nepal had more buddhist than you're totally wrong nepal had most hindus from the beginning!!

  • . Always practice the art of peace

  • i been to nepal this yr conjunction with their big day which lamb sacrify .they take it as holy - so call holy .blood smell everywhere , ppl praise happily and posses for blessing but we not talking bout buddhahood or religion, but sometimes ask back - does this reflect human is barbarian? nepal once buddha land but now it's complete with hinduism which they take buddha not that encourage .. perhaps buddha not as mystic like hindu legend .... maybe human need kills as worship ...

  • I think perhaps humans tend to avoid their duties to think compassionately by thinking they can simply "do" something to get on a god's good side. If "god" is within us, we don't really need to placate god, but we do need to exercise compassion towards ourselves and others above all things.

  • @KhenpoDarma

So true. And the creator is also outside us, as we can see the work in the galaxies, the stars the outside environment.

  • Dear Illsed,

Yes, I can understand how traditions become important to societies. But it sometimes comes to the point where people forget to think about what the tradition really is. Today for example, take Xmas, it really fails to be what it was originally intended to be, and ends up causing a lot of people stress.

  • randi ko chora dhoti machikne haru afno bauaama lai kaat na power dekhauchas bhane

  • As long as its not genocide or causing the extinction of protected animals, its their culture, let them resolve among themselves. None of our frigging business, anyway. There are more important things to worry about.

  • Exactly, that is why this world isn't improving. This is a perfect reflection of modern consciousness. Chris and Massive, next time you take a bite, you may be eating a mixture of up to 20,000 cows. Also, as realists, you may wish to study some science. The amount of resources that goes into a kilogram of beef are amazing, certainly far beyond the price we sell it for.

  • SAVING LIVES of animals is great virtue. They are also sentient beings ! Since all beings share collective karma, this animal sacrifice in certain traditions (not only Hinduism) slow down spiritual evolution of humanity. Look for video: ONE WORLD EVOLUTION to understand inter-connectedness of all on this planet.

  • So what??? McDonalds and Burger King kill millions of millions of animals every year, the only difference is that they don´t pray to some goddess while doing so!

These people eat the meat too, just like you and I eat a burger from burger king.

Unless you´re a tree hugging hippie that wants to ruin every other culture than your own..

Pull you self together people! This is how the world is! People have different cultures, embrace it!

  • If you are into subtle sciences, energy transfers, not just the physical stuff, but the mental stuff as well.

How was that cow feeling when it was killed.

Likely Fright and Flight were at an all time high. Have you ever paid careful attention to peoples moods, including your own after a good hamburger or steak. Something you might wish to examine more carefully. What we eat has a lot to do with how we behave.

  • Om Namo Guru Buddha Gyani. Om Namo Guru Buddha Gyani. Om Namo Guru Buddha Gyani. Palden Dorje has brought this horrendous suffering and barbarianism to the world - now everyone knows and is responsible....not just the ignorant steeped in this ritual, this culture, these acts of men without conscience. Maitre.

  • God never says to sacrifice ANY animal n any living being! if it was so then there wouldnt b any reason tht He create all this,he could take it for him self!!!Nepal should wake up n see what is reality!!

  • hindu religious seem voilent.

  • This is a twisted form of Hinduism, it is nothing to do with the real religion.

  • so sad.... why does people continue believing in these insane rituals? What else could we obtain by causing Suffering?..Only more Suffering...

  • You are thinking like a educated westerner, these people have little to no education, you really cant blame them that part of the world offers very little opportunity.

  • they dont have humanity..

  • it has happened, maybe we don't fail next time to stop this

  • ...All of this comes to nothing...

Besides, it's too late already. The slaughters have begun

  • Where is your sraddha (faith)?

Petitions make people aware, it is for the signers, not particularly the government.

Your awareness, Mega, can change the world, even if it takes time.

  • OM MANI PADME HUM Animal sacrifice is totally uncivilised deed , not a religious act at all! World wide petition must support complete prohibition of animal sacrifice in all traditions . True religion saves lives of beings ! This petition must be brought to United nations which must prohibit animal sacrifice in all countries, including Muslim world. It is very sad day for Nepal when 500.000 animals are killed every year.

    OM MANI PADME HUM

    Buiddha Dharma-OBF International

  • @openbuddhistforum in muslim world animals are sacrificed to feed hungry and poor people..and the aim is help the weak..in this sacrifice professional butchers try not to give pain to the animals that are sacrified..

  • This excuse to kill animals is truly sad. How low spiritual awareness ! No animal should be killed either for cultic ceremonies nor for food ! Poor people can be feed with vegan food, not with killed animals . OM MANI PADME HUM

To understand this you must raise your spiritual awreness*****

  • Oh poor people they dont know what they are doing. Thouse priests who ordered this massacre are themselves rooted in delusion and confusion and yet they lead others who are already blind to act in such a shameful way. Although they have eyes they cannot see. Although they have hearts they cannot feel. There is no compassion in them. This act of primitive violence will only lead them to accumulate even more bad karma ... and more confusion and cruelty is the only fruits of this.

  • Yes. Blessings to you, Planetar!

  • @PlanetarPL

They should all be put into mental asylums. No sane human can support or condone this type of cruelty. If their relgion tells them that they do this, then there God is a lunatic.

  • can someone please explain the history behing gadimai in the olden days.
