I HATED Katie Holmes....but I swear, Maggie "melting Face' Gylenanfhsdhshsd....my god.....what a freakin' train wreck...."Harvey...Harvey Thank God!" Maggie wasn't only a better and more attractive actress compared to Holmes, she was much better suited for the role, even if the Rachel Dawes character is annoyingly bad in general.
Holmes looks way too young to pull off being a lawyer. Gyllenhal pulls off the role much better.

Maggie Gyllenhall may not be what society calls "hot". But she is very beautiful. This movie didn't do her looks any justice though. She looked older and wrinkly. Her eyes had long droops underneath. Either poor lighting, bad makeup, or not enough sleep. Or they wanted her to look old. Either way, it was disappointing because she didn't look like a love interest.

Wow, so I find it amazing that people would stoop low enough to judge everything based on looks. Is that what acting is all about? Whether or not you look hot? Sure, looks are a key factor in a role, but the biggest and far most important factor is the performance itself. So instead of judging Maggie on her looks, judge her on her performance, in which she did an amazing job.

She put more emotion and ambivalence into the character of Rachel Dawes more fluently than Katie Holmes is capable of.
