  • You can't Xiu Xiu and not like this. Pure gold. Amazing cover. Jamie's voice fits perfectly.

  • Ok so one more.

  • How do you judge art anyway its a good version and yeah its Xiu Xiu covering Joy Division that's a bunch a levels of weird unto itself, in a great way. And again Xiu Xiu is experimental rock band so a different sounding version is going to come out it won't be Ian up there singing. Man would that be cool!

  • What. The. Fuck.

No. I'm sorry. Just no. I gave it a chance, but this really blows.

  • so good

  • The murdered it. And no, not in a good way.

  • honestly though, a horrible cover, we all love Joy Division and New Order (and Xiu Xiu) but can't we dislike a mediocre cover? Not everything in ode to Ian Curtis should be looked upon as gold

  • they're shouting out... why?!?!?! really..........shiiiiit version!

  • i was there, and it was cold that night...

  • isn't it New Order's ceremony? i mean either way awesomeness abound and what a freaking cover but yea.

  • Dulcenia Meet the Beast in this Era !

  • Frign' compassion at 2:52. Why I like you splendid people. Not yet on one's favourites.

  • Well, Psyche and Xiu Xiu, one considers, sincere and empathetic bands. Both treat the covers with an honestsy and uniqueness (Disorder, Ceremony, Fat Cars, Goodbye Horses) rarely found. Both these bands deserve a leg-up. Unfortnuately, Lards at the crux melt.

  • looks fucking freezing!!

  • Love it guys.

  • "Heaven knows, it's got to be this time

Watching her, these things she said"

    Pure poetry.

  • No more ratings. Perfect number.

  • simply beautiful!

  • amazing...

  • brilliant!

  • His little swaying dance reminds me of a Mortal Kombat character :D

  • This is so fucking beautiful.

  • i saw this live and it was pretty amazing. i'm really put off by them most of the time, but the show was good on the whole and this cover was by far the best thing they did

  • agree, 100 percent.

  • that's a really nice cover indeed !!! i like galaxie 500's version too.

  • I like it. I wonder how they can play when it looks so cold.

  • that's anne frank on his guitar.

  • This splendid band, is, undoubtedly, the best at "covering" this song. It is sincere and empathetic - I wish the band all the best and humbled thanks.

  • So fucking goooooood!

  • i could cum watching this

  • this is great

  • What kind of guitar he is using in this video?

  • a gibson SG. probably a standard. they're like $2,000.00

  • Freaking awesome, I just don't know why some people don't like it, seriously this version is so full of emotion, it's really intense.

  • meh, some people can't take the amount of energy Jamie&co. put into the songs. I know some people that can't really get into Xiu Xiu because of the way Jamie sings - They find it too gruesome.

  • i've watched the radiohead cover. xiu xiu does put alot of themselves into this one. this doesn't top the cover of Don't Cha or Fast Car!

his vocals are his own. people gave dylan sh*t for his singing too, didn't they?

i saw Jamie Stewart do a solo set at the smell not long ago. brilliant. thank you

  • wow what a passionate take on Ceremony, love it!

  • stfu

  • yeah it dosent sound like ian curtis, and there using a keyboard. what is this some kind of cover song or what?! great song great cover.

  • personally i don't get the emotional delivery at all. i think new orders original 7" version is the best there will ever be and i think anyone who tries to cover it has made a bad decision, because it's impossible to improve on.

  • This cover is fucking amazing. Xiu Xiu definitely takes it to another level. They push there abilities to the very limit of what they can do which shows true effort. They are fearless!

  • Agreed! Can't wait to see them play Glasgow in May. Yessir.

  • they're from my home town :] grew up where i grew up.

  • this isn't very good. if you want to see a real ceremony cover, check out radiohead's.

  • I couldn't disagree more. Radiohead's cover is good but the band doesn't make it their own. Jamie Stewart takes the song to the limit. Listen to the vocal delivery, the buzzing synths, the bells and chime, the emotion...it's fantastic.

  • Well, I guess it just comes down to what you like. I'm not too into the indie synth pop stuff , which is why I like Radiohead's version, it's very direct and very raw.

  • joy division were amazing but i think this takes it to a whole new level. fucking incredible. i hope xiu xiu come to australia

  • I love how you can see Jamies breath when he yells.

  • intro is wonderfull

  • this ruuules, i didnt know they coverd joy division songs.i thought ian curtis wishlist was the extent of any relation to joy haha

  • this has made my day

finding a good video of the cover

  • no fucking way. xiu xiu. covering. joy division.

  • very cold !!!

    but so good

  • I was at this show. We drove 3 hours to get there. It was amazing.

  • that looks like it feels great

  • vocals sound like ian curtis love it keep it up inspiring a world where rock n roll has gone to hell

  • this is where he lives!

  • teeheehee!

  • erm.... it sounds nowt like Ian Curtis.

Get your ears cleaned out. :-)

  • i love you !!

  • genius!!!
