  • That's a sweet rig man. I've made some changes to my glastron- it looks much better now than it did in that video I have of it.

I secured a TOWER OF POWER for mine as well- 115hp. It's getting new stringers/floors/transom this winter. Then I'll hang that motor on the thing and go up in the air. I hope you're enjoying your boat this summer!

  • @BigAgitator If you have a GT150 like mine, don't expect more than about 50 mph out of it... Any faster and it chine-walks like a bastard. Keep that in mind before you cough up huge cash for the resto... Best of luck to ya!

  • @poopdogsays It's not a GT- it's a 16' Conroy z-16 or something. I'm told that it should be able to handle 50-55... If I can get a strong 50, I'll be happy. Boat is 750 lbs. It has a "pad" similar to that of the Hydrostream viper. Perhaps that'll help with chine walking(?).. idk.

How's your mercury treating you? The one I'm getting is an '86 115 hp.

  • @BigAgitator That "Pad" will make a world of difference. I have seen GT-150's modded with a pad run in the upper 70's with no chinewalk problems. I was going to hack mine up and put one in, but it's just not worth it, the boat is pretty much shot. If I ever get back into boats, I think I'll be looking for a cuddy with twin 454's or 502's... At least something big enough to have fun with friends, this 15' speed boat is just too friggin small!

    Best of luck to ya!

  • @BigAgitator My Merc is also an 86, but mine was sold and is badged as a 90hp, but I have the carbs from a 115hp. The carbs are the only difference from a 90hp-125hp, everything else [in the motors] is the same. My boat is 15' and weighs in at 625# w/o the motor. The Merc weighs 350. I can hit plane in about 50 feet or about 4 seconds, I would imagine yours should heed similar results. Plenty fast to rip a skier, or perhaps rip a skiers arms out! lol

The hardest part is picking a prop! G/L!

  • @poopdogsays Awesome info, man! Thanks. That idea of yours to get a bigger boat sounds like a good one. I almost bought an SS235 slickcraft but I'm glad I didn't. I can't afford the gas. It was a nice ass boat.

Hopefully this power tower will be a good motor for me. I'm doing the transom and floor rebuild myself and I'm going to mill my own wood which will save some money. The plywood I will have to buy though.

  • NICE LITTLE BOAT..........

  • did you guys save it or did it sink?

  • @THEACDC1995 I saved it and ran it for the rest of the year.

  • is this the same boat that got flooded from rain

  • @THEACDC1995 Yup.

  • how deep is it at the end of your dock?

  • @s6675 About chest deep... See my "Sunken Glastron GT-150" vid... I am holding up the stern!

  • @s6675 40 fathoms!

  • Beautiful Glastron. Bet she flies.

  • Thanks, unfortunately at the moment it is dead in the water... It sunk AGAIN last weekend!

There is a video of it on my channel.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Why does it keep sinking?

  • @tallcanadian Because the back end only sits 6 inches out of the water. All it takes is a few assholes doing 80mph fly-by's to splash water over the back and flood the boat! These boats only weigh 625 pounds, then you drop a 400 pound motor on the back and they sit kinda low! ha ha.

  • All it takes is a couple of idiots for sure.
