But I refuse to move out of Canada, the country where you can own a pistol, but it has to be locked up at all times in a bank vault of a gun safe with a trigger guard of which the key must be absent from the gun safe... I agree that ALWAYS treating firearms as if they are loaded is THE best mentality. As far as keeping them ACTUALLY loaded, as long as noone other than the owner has access to it, O.K. But as far as having it on a shelf or on a bedside table while you sleep, I'm not down like that. It really comes down to personal responsibility and basing your choices on a worst case scenario.

@MrGlockJock25 - I have .357 SIG barrels in them, plus have those Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrels and a couple of .22 conversion kits... that way these Glocks have lots of ammo possibilities post-apocalypse. Come on apocalypse, lets make 2011 the year!!
Why do people always talk shit on a .40, it's less snappy than a .45 and lot more deadly than a 9mm. That and the ammo is not too expensive. .40's are good but a 10mm is betteer if the ammo was more readily availabe.

4:40 I recently bought a H&K USP compact .40 S&W, and I have to agree, it has an absolutely horrible double action trigger. I would be scared to have use that double action trigger pull in a life or death self defense situation. Thankfully, the gun automatically cocks to single action when you rack the slide and load a chamber into the round. Also, the balance of that gun is superb...when you hold that gun, you will be amazed at the sense of balance it has, and how it feels in your hand.
problem with leaving it loaded, after a while the condition of the springs in the mag will start to deteriarate making stoppages more likely. no problem with a round in the chamber and uncocked. if its a defensive weapon you will only need one shot
@MrCrispy616 you should have more than 1 magazine with carry guns... alot more. If you only have 1 magazine, then don't fully load it if this concerns you.
@MrCrispy616 Actually leaving mags loaded does not cause the spring to fatigue over time. what causes mag springs to fatigue is the compression and expansion of loading and unloading it. I just felt it necessary to comment on this.
@jsh1284 At first I was unloading for YouTube, but then I really wondered why... so I stopped, just leave them loaded. Until or unless YouTube has an issue with it, I'm standing firm. Guns are dangerous. Treat them as such - all the time. Don't suddenly change that mode of thinking because you (think) its unloaded.

@jeffjuice3886 Thanks Jeff!! I have a SIG P239 as well, like you mention, in .40 and .357sig. Nice gun, but mine is just heavy for ccw, its an early version, they are lighter now. I read about the P238 reliability issues as well, but I haven't seen them with mine. I finally pumped enough rounds through mine in about late July with ZERO failures to truly trust it. I had to spend a ton of money too, I had to use hollowpoints for every round!! But absolutely no issues for me :) happy camper!
I love your #8, because I have a p229 :p. It is a great list, as revolver, I love your airweight - those grips look stock, and really look handsome. Same with your kimber 1911, I just love the black color and the way its shaped is just great. I do agree with you on most of your choices except the sig 239. I have had some trouble as well as heard a lot of trouble with that gun not feeding etc. [also love your choice in the USP caliber]. I may get 2 glock 19s or a 19 and 26 and keep my 229 at home
@oromoto Its a fun one to take to the range. It is my most accurate pistol by far. 25 yards isn't even that fun, its usually one ragged hole. 100 yards is more of a challenge, bit 6 inch groups are pretty easy. My next most accurate pistol is my SIG P220 in .45acp, it will do plate sized groups at 100 yards, but they string vertically a bit sometimes. That old .45 does drop a bit on that long trip and its funny you can actually see the delay from firing to impact!

Love 1911s but for me anything that leaves me needing to do anything besides point and shoot I would hesitate to carry that.

@MrGlockJock25 - I have .357 SIG barrels in them, plus have those Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrels and a couple of .22 conversion kits... that way these Glocks have lots of ammo possibilities post-apocalypse. Come on apocalypse, lets make 2011 the year!!

Why do people always talk shit on a .40, it's less snappy than a .45 and lot more deadly than a 9mm. That and the ammo is not too expensive. .40's are good but a 10mm is betteer if the ammo was more readily availabe.

i am very disapointed i own a glock 26 and a judge and i am disapointed that no glock at all was in there i would go to the end of the road with my glock the judge i can understand it will knock someone down but its just big i have the longer barreled one but i am the 1 dislike because of the no glocks

im real sorry guy but a 380 bullet just plain sucks. i would not let anyone I love carry a 380. you could probably swat them away with a catchers mit. 9mm is not much better. here, a cops utillity belt deflected a 9mm saving his life. i have the airlites in 357 and 44mag both snubnose. 17 and 24 ounce. still love the Colt 45. when Para first advertised I called them. first they made aircraft alum kits and I got one of the first. I put all Colt Officers model parts on it and started a revalation

4:40 I recently bought a H&K USP compact .40 S&W, and I have to agree, it has an absolutely horrible double action trigger. I would be scared to have use that double action trigger pull in a life or death self defense situation. Thankfully, the gun automatically cocks to single action when you rack the slide and load a chamber into the round. Also, the balance of that gun is superb...when you hold that gun, you will be amazed at the sense of balance it has, and how it feels in your hand.

problem with leaving it loaded, after a while the condition of the springs in the mag will start to deteriarate making stoppages more likely. no problem with a round in the chamber and uncocked. if its a defensive weapon you will only need one shot

@MrCrispy616 Actually leaving mags loaded does not cause the spring to fatigue over time. what causes mag springs to fatigue is the compression and expansion of loading and unloading it. I just felt it necessary to comment on this.

@jsh1284 At first I was unloading for YouTube, but then I really wondered why... so I stopped, just leave them loaded. Until or unless YouTube has an issue with it, I'm standing firm. Guns are dangerous. Treat them as such - all the time. Don't suddenly change that mode of thinking because you (think) its unloaded.

@jeffjuice3886 Thanks Jeff!! I have a SIG P239 as well, like you mention, in .40 and .357sig. Nice gun, but mine is just heavy for ccw, its an early version, they are lighter now. I read about the P238 reliability issues as well, but I haven't seen them with mine. I finally pumped enough rounds through mine in about late July with ZERO failures to truly trust it. I had to spend a ton of money too, I had to use hollowpoints for every round!! But absolutely no issues for me :) happy camper!

I love your #8, because I have a p229 :p. It is a great list, as revolver, I love your airweight - those grips look stock, and really look handsome. Same with your kimber 1911, I just love the black color and the way its shaped is just great. I do agree with you on most of your choices except the sig 239. I have had some trouble as well as heard a lot of trouble with that gun not feeding etc. [also love your choice in the USP caliber]. I may get 2 glock 19s or a 19 and 26 and keep my 229 at home

@oromoto Its a fun one to take to the range. It is my most accurate pistol by far. 25 yards isn't even that fun, its usually one ragged hole. 100 yards is more of a challenge, bit 6 inch groups are pretty easy. My next most accurate pistol is my SIG P220 in .45acp, it will do plate sized groups at 100 yards, but they string vertically a bit sometimes. That old .45 does drop a bit on that long trip and its funny you can actually see the delay from firing to impact!

I see and read about people unloading them and fondling them in front of the TV, clacking away with the trigger at stuff on the TV screen... I just feel thats wrong. Not a toy! DEADLY WEAPON - PULL TRIGGER - BANG! BANG! not clack clack on empty chamber at annoying TV show host! :)
