what i have observed is that most nations borders were drawn up by their colonizers. not taking into account religious, ethnic, population. so in many places there is a built in internal conflict that may not end until those same borders that were arbitrarily drawn up by colonizers are changed to the betterment of the people on the ground. rawanda and burundi is great example and from what i am researching so is thailand.
