@HearSeeLearn : I built a simulation with the principle like Younger's Double-slit experiment. At every point on the square plate, we can obtain the wave fronts from the source at the plate center or any where on the plate and sum up the wave amplitude of each wave. There's not any wave math functions involved. I just let the wave run, then wait and see. I am not a physician, I am just interesting in computer simulation of physics.

Hi, where can i find this solution? I found the wave equation solution for polar coordinates and rectangular, but in rectangular coordinates, the initial wave doesn't start in the center of the plate. Thank you.

I am working on simplifying it :) The principle is quite simple but it takes a little bid long time for calculating.
