  • I trust my ar for hunting but, nothing better than my 30-06.

  • Do you remember what round you used for the? Great job with the AR. Im a firm believer in the 5.56 as a small game hunting round as you guys showed. Im extremely jealous of the beautiful country you guys get to live and hunt in!

I wish I could pack up and leave the US for NZ

  • gudday - what trijicon scope have you got on the ar? Cheers

  • where'd you get you're AR from mate?

  • @madkeenNZ Will's Fishing And Fire Arms, Wairau Rd, Auckland. Good guy - he'll do you a deal.

  • I had no idea that New zealand had Wallabies there .. ?

  • @AussieLAFO Yep. there are pockets of 'em all over the place. Introduced as 'exotic' garden animals back in the late 19th century.

  • @kiwitedferny well there you go , learn something everyday .

The possum problem in NZ are also an introduced species from Australia aswell i believe ?

I guess thats because NZ has no natural predators , they explode and get free run of the place .?

Open season all year in NZ on possums and wallabies ted ?

  • @AussieLAFO Yep. We have no natural mamal species. Only birds. Deer, Goats, Possums and rabbits have a field day here. Definately a Patriotic Duty to shoot possums...not sure about the wallabies. I tend to leave them alone.

  • That would be a life time hunt if you shot a good red stag and an amazing video good luck if you do. P.S. I should have said a different fallow stag as the one you shot is long gone lol.

  • Ted you should do a nice shoulder mount a nice stag like the one you shot in this video for the new man cave.

  • @patriot1232 We ate the lot! LOL! They were only small fallow deer. I may take a crack at a big Red later in the year.

  • why watch a video and then dislike it...wtf ?

  • That is great hunting skills with that rifle. Great Job!

  • nice vid, check out my vids. what loads are you using? i find soft nose to be very effective.

  • I wouldn't try that pea shooter on a whitetail buck. I like the .223 round but I want more punch and range when hunting deer.

  • Who makes that ar

  • @bigusmcWW2 It's a Colt Ar15A2

  • i like deer hunting to. i got to wait till october to go. so do you have to buy a tag for each deer you go hunt or what. here you have too and you can only get 2 max. i would love to see more videos like this. show all the guts you want it dont bother me ive seen plenty of them.

  • @josephd27 No, there's no tag required or bag limit here.

  • @kiwitedferny dam ur lucky. how much does the license cost though. i bet its expensive

  • @josephd27 No licence Mate - Free!

  • @kiwitedferny so whats the catch on the no hunting license fee

  • thanks for posting mate keep em coming

  • You back,yay!

I love my AR, the .223 is a nice, well balanced round, but my favourite stag hunting round is the .270REM,extremely flat trajectory.

  • How did an Australian animal get introduced to New Zealand? Also Mr. Ted, I had never figured you for a hunter. Good show.

  • what a beautiful landscape man.

  • Oh my god! I just realized the man is back in town!?!?

Awesome to have u back Teddy xD haha

  • Makes me want to go eat a steak.

  • Awesome video. Great shots...I love deer hunting. Must be really nice to do it in such a beautiful place. Take care.

  • If you can make hunting videos, you can make more WW2 firearm videos!!!

  • Any kill zone hit on a running deer is a great shot Ted imo. Wonderful scenery. AR-15 #FTW A couple of those camera scenes almost looked like "Tactical Ted The Movie"...haha

  • Great video ted, i've been following your channel for a while now - glad you're back in some form or another. I have great respect for your videos and you as a person - I think you approach your subjects with respect - guns, hunting, history and the like. It's good to finally see some maturity on youtube.

And about the horrible youtube comments, I think it's just something that we all have to put up with. Please don't let a few bad comments put you off when 99% of us greatly enjoy your videos.

  • Nice video. Enjoyed it.

  • @kiwitedferny Just wondering since it has been a while since we've seen your collection did you add anything new to it since then?

  • Good to see you are still here, just wondering which gunforum or site you are planning to use now?

  • Sir Ted! glad you are back with us. interesting video i did not know you were a avid hunter. r u still going to texas to see mr c2builder when u go to america? look forward to seeing more videos mate.

    cheers!

  • You seemed to having a bloody good time. Glad to see you back.

  • NIce shot, Ted! What an absolutely beautiful landscape. Thank you for the vid!

  • you killed bambi , lol

  • Is that a handgun on you at 6:28 or what?

  • Welcome back, Ted! I do miss your WWII weaponry vids in a huge way. They were some of my favorite viewing on YouTube.

  • Welcome back Ted!

  • @LoganHerbert Is English your 2nd language?

  • @LoganHerbert

F**K Dude, just say no!! Judging by your hallucinating incoherence and horrible musical taste (The lady in red was old the day it was relesed) I have to assume Australian youth are at bay with a serious Meth/Crack/Mush epidemic. Relax bud!.....It's soooo simple. When you disagree with a post:

    1- Go elsewhere

    2-Stay there

  • @LoganHerbert then why the fuck are you watching the video you limp dick piece of shit?

  • @LoganHerbert And THIS sort of comment is going to encourage me to post and repost vids of my WW2 weapons collection? What the Hell were you thinking?

  • are those good eating?

  • @snakebite210 Definately. Both deer were very fat - the grass here is having a late growth spurt.

  • Hi Ted, can you drop me a line, would be most grateful.

    Regards

    A fellow soldier.

  • Good to see you around Ted!

  • I've heard of a lot of people hunting with the AR platform, you shoulda dropped that wallaby.

  • Good to see you back!! Looks like some tasty fallow deer!! I use my AR for hunting feral pigs, works great!

  • Does this mean you are making a much awaited return?

  • @TheRedline65 Not really. I'll just post some 'adventures' so that my Mates overseas can see what I'm up to. I won't be making WW2 weapons vids anymore - too risky with c*nts posting my personal info etc.

  • @kiwitedferny ahh i see, thats fair enough. Well i look forward to seeing them

  • @kiwitedferny Are you going to post that link you promised so we can join you on the forums? A lot of us still thirst to learn from you and the ones you seek knowledge from.

  • @kiwitedferny Thanks for the video. I have to repeat what other have said, you-tube isn't the same without you. Miss your videos a great deal.

  • Nice shooting Tex, Umm. I meant Ted. I foresee much meat in the freezer in your near future. Very tastey.

  • You can carry a pistol while hunting in NZ?

  • @Trex1268 No. But you can't leave one 'insecure' either - Damed if you do - damned if you don't. I figured it was safer on my hip than back at the car.

  • @kiwitedferny I was just curious. I thought in a previous video you stated one could only carry a pistol to and from a pistol club. Thanks for the reply.

  • @Trex1268 Yes, that is correct. We shot at a pistol club earlier. But then we had the choice of leaving the pistol at the mote,l or in the car - neither option being a safe one. So Fuck it - I kept it with me when we went bush.

  • hi mate! whats up..why cant I see your channel?

  • First, just let me say it's a pleasure seeing you on youtube again, kiwited. I do hope you stay around. I hope you're well.

I actually tried my hand at hunting some deer with a 20" barrel AR15 a few years ago just to see if I could. I was using 60gr Noslers. Took down a 3 point buck at about 110 yards without incident. I shot, deer ran a few feet, stumbled, and fell dead. Hell, I've had them run further after being shot with .308.

A lot of people say 5.56x45 is too small for deer. I think not!

  • Winter?! Oh...yeah, winter.

  • Great to see you back Ted, hope this is the begining to more new videos!!!! You should try the AR with a white tail, and see how it works, lol.

  • South Island looks amazing, thanks for sharing the hunt. glad to see you back.

  • Welcome back Ted. Nice deer, great shooting.

  • Welcome back Mate, great vid. You mentioned Hobbits, are they in season now?

  • @klesmer No, but Orks are...

  • @kiwitedferny Great! I always wanted to see New Zealand, maybe now would be a good time. Do ya' think a .460 Weatherby would be a good ORK gun or should I bring some a little larger?

    1

  • @klesmer The weatherby will be fine - but carry a back-up like I do. Those Orks take a fair bit of killing.

  • Mmm fallow, I used to know a marinade using soy sauce and brandy but been so long since vie used it Ive forgotten. :(

Keep roughing up those fooking tree huggers ted!

  • Good to see other people hunting with black rifles. Specs on the AR and the Trijicon?

  • @gunzablazin01 AR15 A2 and Standard ACOG with range cross hair reticle sight. Man - it was soooo good for fast snap shots.

  • Hi Ted, i used to really enjoy watching your "chats" about the history of the weapons you own.it was great stuff really informative, what happened? where have all the videos gone i was working my way through them.its a travesty!!! :) Really nice video! what a beautiful place. slight discrepancy with the pistol in your waist band but im sure it wasn't loaded. great to see your vids back. Are we going to see more of the "man cave" ...weapon history" vids

  • Nice shot Ted, did you grow up hunting or pick it up as an adult?

  • FIGJAM aye ted !

  • @gonein1minute Yes. I love me!

  • @kiwitedferny

hey hes back! Fucking great stuff ted, Tactical hunting!, had you for hunting them with a M1 or a Gewehr 43, theres always next time

  • any native game fish in that creek

  • @hammertimevice Yes. Eel's trout and native spratt.

  • @kiwitedferny Could you please post a link to your old videos if they are up on another sight? I had yet to see most of them and the were extremely interesting and informative.

  • @MultiAlxndr Sorry Maten - They are gone.

  • @kiwitedferny - WELCOME BACK. my god how we have missed you! You tube is not the same without you!

  • I hope this means you are back.

  • are the deer smaller over there, or did u just get a runt? lol

  • Congrats on a successful hunt! Where I live, big game (deer, elk, bear anyways) must be hunted with a .24 cal or larger center fire cartridge for modern rifle. So a .223 (5.56) is not legal to hunt with, but that's not to say it's not necessarily an adequate round to hunt with as you have shown us. Cougar can be hunted with a .22 cal centerfire, but no rimfire for big game. But the .223 is a good varmint round for sure!

  • Glad to see a post from you! Very respectable shooting!! I guess that rifle course you were inquiring about really paid off. lol Take care

  • Well I'll be a Tuatara, If that isn't the charming voice we've all heard somewhere before (We French Canadians are polite liars) . Great to see you're alright and, as always, making the best of a harsh reality. Let me know where we can send the relief aid directly as I do not trust the U.N. And when I imagine you having to give the coup de grace with an airsoft....sorry...the tears are welling up. Sincerely though, NICE shooting, NICE hunt. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

  • HE GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!

  • Comment removed

  • @HarryBeLulzFonte Yes, I can't argue with that! We still got some very nice back steaks off 'em, as well as the hind quarters which we dropped off at a butchers for de-boning. We are city slickers after all.

  • I thought you weren't allowed to take handguns with you when you were hunting? You can't do it in Australia unless you have a special permit from your doctor lol.

  • @TheFirearmEnthusiast You mean the airsoft pistol i was carrying?

  • @kiwitedferny I thought it was real, we can't carry those here either lol. They're considered real firearms.

  • @TheFirearmEnthusiast I'm not saying if it was real or not. :)

  • My comment must have really upset you. Thats funny.

  • @GoonAzzNiggah Not at all. I just wonder what a ghetto dweller would know about deer hunting. Why don't you cgo and polish your basket ball shoes, Bling-Boy.

  • @kiwitedferny hahahaha that is the funniest shit, way to go Ted!

  • @GoonAzzNiggah Don't worry my brave. Kiwited is suffering from dementia and knows not what he is doing.

  • @Wastawana Knowing not doing what i am. Dat true. Where am I?

  • Great to see you back Ted. Great vid too.

  • Poor thing...LOL...Great shot....nice to see ya back Ted;-)

  • Damn nice shot Ted. Running, 250 yards, looks like right through the heart. Doesn't get much better!

  • nice deer ted

  • Thanks for comin' back to YouTube man.

  • what ammo did you use? and it is good to see you back i enjoy your vids.

  • great hunt man looks like a lot of good meat for the winter!

  • Beautiful animals. Glade the AR and Trijicon worked so well for you. Cheers, keep safe.

  • Great to see you uploading again great video.

  • Also do we need to get you a proper holster for that glock?? :)

  • @DagaYute Glock? You mean Sig. :)

  • Good shooting ted - how'd the meat taste?

  • great work ted. keep em coming. GREAT STUFF.

  • I miss kiwited and the mancave :(

  • Nutnfancy would be proud. AR15 tactical deer hunting. Can't say you are the first to do it, but you did do it LOL. You should get a AR10 Ted. The 5.56 appeared to work well. Although, a 308 round would give you a bit more piece of mind when putting lead on target.

  • @xxSURExxSHOTxx I agree - a larger calibre would be more sensible at range - but in the scrub , at close range, you can be pretty confident you'll drop 'em.

  • @kiwitedferny Welcome back Ted

  • Love that view over the horizon. =]

Seems the 'Satsuma' does a good job.

Cheers for the vid Ted, always a pleasure to watch.

  • Dang New Zealand is a beutiful country I think i wanna go hunting there now :)

  • ted, I guess your ar is chambered for 223? Im curious what caliber you took them with?

  • Great vid, and very beautiful country.

  • welcome back ted!!

  • Neato! Glad to see you!

  • Very nice Ted....I used my AR last season and it worked great. I ended up going with the American Eagle 63gr Soft Point and they worked very well!!!! Congrats on the kill, nothing like packing the freezer with meat!!!!

  • WOW! awsome to see you back, and even better to see you out hunting! here in the states remington made a AR rifle just for big game hunting in .223 same action and looks as an AR-15 however the paid special attention to the barrel, extended the length, and floated it, its called the remington R-25 if you fancy the AR platform for deer hunting would highly recomend this rifle, also remington made a new .223 bullet new from anything else on the market for better performance and clean kills

  • Glad your back Ted. By the way, nice shot.

  • Glad you are back.

  • Glad to see you're back. This would have been a good time to have one of those "Video-scopes", so as to record the moment of the kill.

Anyway, great to have you back, looking forward to more videos from you. :-))

  • KICK ASS RABBIT you got there ...LOL

    nice shot brother.

  • Congratulations and welcome to the noble club of hunters!

  • Welcome back! You have been missed.

  • HAHA!!! Winter does exist in NZ! Summer in sunny Georgia! Take that Kiwis!

  • Great shots and nice countryside, reminiscent of Scottish terrain. Shot placement and adequate penetration gets the job done. I sub to virtuovice‬‏ who's a hunter and backstrap getter extraordinaire and shows excellent deer recipes.

    Ted videos makes for :)

  • every time i see pictures of NZ i really want to go. Good to hear from ya ted!

  • nice vid, there are a lot of AR-15 styled hunting rifles made by Bushmaster and other arms manufactures here in the States, some are in 5.56, but there are a lot in .308 and .450 too. I gotta get me on those ACOGS!

  • Welcome back Ted.
