  • Isn't it amazing that people born all over the world have such a strong sense of belonging to Wales.

  • Diolch yn fawr iawn - Well sung, and a great try at our ancient tounge.

Your Welsh is better than anything most non-Welsh Brits can manage.

  • chwarae teg, da iawn

  • Brilliant, oh well done!! I am a first generation American, my Mom's family was Welsh on her father's side, last name John, and my Mom's middle name was Myfanwy. It has a special feeling for me for that reason, and also, it is something in my blood, the songs of my ancestors. Thank you for singing it so expressively. Cheers, L

  • @sunplenty Thanks for your kind comment.

  • @usenetposts Da iawn!

  • "I'm a quarter Welsh, and straight down the male line."

    .

super.......... but don't tell Ann Robinson :(

  • @indigofugit She has delighted us for long enough.

  • This man is a genius.....

i suspect that littleluke87 is correct....... he is definitely not welsh.

  • @indigofugit I'm a quarter Welsh, and straight down the male line. My father's father's father's father didn't know a word of English.

  • @usenetposts My grandfather was beaten by the teachers at school if he spoke Welsh. Twll tin pob Seis!! I am Australian born with a Welsh heart and spirit.

  • Super

  • you're obviously not welsh! you're pronouncing english words all the way through!!

  • @littleluke87 Alert the media.

  • Вы Awsome в пении

  • Blog-odaryu za kompliment!

  • what other films have you been in?

  • Huliganov is in a bunch of films in the same channel, and occasionally appears in other people's stuff. I started to make a playlist of where I turn up on other channels, but I didn't get far with it.

  • ok,well its a pleasur to see your videos-diolch

  • We are not a little bit off that place called England, That is very offensive to us welsh people, but thank you for celebrating our culture.

    Arddechog Bachgen, diolch chan cymru

  • very nice, also very good welsh..keep it up.

  • Thank-you, that took my breath away!

  • You're very welcome. I shall try some more acapello in the future after the encouraging response to this one.

  • Well done , You have a beautiful voice

    groetjes uit Belgie

  • Bedankt!

  • What a fantastic song sung very well. I've known this song all my life being brought up in Wales.

Do you know the "Pearl Fishers"?

It's a two piece thing, but give it a go.

  • I'll have to look it up, Richard.

  • wonderful

  • One of my all time favourites. Well done. Diolch yn fawr, Cymro

  • Please continue acapella as you have such a good musical tone.

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you so much, my Mam (Grandmother) was Welsh and sang mezo soprano and Was always singing at home. She was called "home" 25 years ago and its was wonderful to hear you sing that song in Welsh; I still have tears in my eyes. Please post more songs on Youtube in the near future.

  • I have in mind to do Hiraeth. I am never sure whether i should sing these a capella or wait until I can get a track, but the generous response to this is making me feel more inclined to do more a capella in the future.

  • Brilliant!

  • Beautifully sung - my favourite welsh song I have been brought up in Wales all my life (with Irish origins)and have heard many versions and this is lovely!

    Celtic Miss!

  • Beautiful. This song, of course, was in the movie "How Green Was My Valley," filmed, ironically, in Southern California.

  • Ardderchog - beautiful Welsh - it brought tears to my eyes.

  • Beautifully sung. Thank you. I don't speak Welsh so I appreciated having both the Welsh and English lyrics. I live in Canada now, but the tune is familiar to me having spent the war years of 1939-1945, as a very small 'evacuee' child from the London bombings, in the remote villages of Merioneth - now Gwynedd?. I remember those years with fondness and the kindness of the Welsh people, although I know that not all evacuee children had the same experience.

Thank you again for those memories.

  • How Fantastic was that, made the hairs on my arms stand up. Beautiful....... My mams favourie song God rest her soul

    thank you

  • My pleasure. May she rest in peace.

  • otlychno - wonderful voice.

  • Spasibo bolshoe.

  • Happy, Healthy, Prosperous Saint David's Day in the year 2008.

As the Scots say ..... "Lang May your Lumn Reek"

    Tom

  • Thank you so much for your rendition.

I have not heard better for a long time.

Your voice matches your heart and your breadth of mind, sir.

I would love to see YOU performing here in Liverpool in its European Capital of Culture year.

I think your distinctive pronunciation is worth preserving, not amending.

The uniqueness of your voice, combined with knowing that this is a Russian singing. That needs to be felt also.

Please don't try to alter your delivery or speech They are unique to YOU

  • Many thanks. Lornatom.

  • Bloody fabulous!

  • From a Velsh born, Velsh bred, Velsh speaker (just kidding !) who now lives in Oz ... that was awesome so 'Diolch yn fawr o'r galon' ... or should I say "spasido" (I hope i got that right !)

  • My grandmother's first name was Myfanwy. I don't know where this gentleman hails from but I find the verses sung in Welsh more convincing that the one in English. All my thanks to whoever posted this. What a bloody shame there's so little decent Welsh material on this site.

Anyone got the choir clip of Myfanwy from the final scene of Twin Town?

Your pronunciation was off here and there, but its' not worth mentioning - very emotive and very impressive.

  • Many thanks. In truth, I would be very happy to learn where my pronunciation is off, as that way I'll get it word perfect in future. Please don't worry that it will offend me, quite the opposite is the case.

  • OMG you made me cry! What an amazing voice you have,a nd you have so much feeling when you sing. I love his so much. Thank you for this. x
