Marxist theory states that the bourgeoisie is a negative influence and that power should be allocated to the working class majority (the proletariat) to achieve a united, socialist state free from upper class oppression.

Communism was inspired by Marxism, but should not be seen as an accurate representation of Marxist motives.

It has its ups and downs but the theory is often wrongly misinterpreted.

I really must not entirely understand materialism, because I just don't understand how anyone can think that the material is more significant than the mind in creating/modifying culture. That's not to say that I think idealism is completely correct either. Without the material there would be nothing for the mind to interpret, but without the mind, the material may as well not exist, for there would be no mind or culture to affect.

I myself am a former atheist, (you commented you went Marxist at 13, I went atheist at the same age, and at 14 I read the Manifesto and it blew my mind). I haven't returned to religious metaphysics but esthetically and ethically I adscribe to some sort of Christian Paganism, as I found atheism so dogmatic and reactionary.
