  • I wonder why the piano player, at the phrase"Mais je ne sais quelle crainte subite..." instead of playing a little bit faster (un peu plus animè), like is written on the score, plays "a little bit slower"...

  • 'sang'

  • Ive heard this many times and still you lend it a certain sound sweeter than the big girls who sing it. They are well excellent. You are innocent , sweet, angelic.

  • This is awesome girls!! Only Awesome!! Your technic's great!

  • Brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful.

  • Bravo! such heart and hearing,a real joy, Good luck luck to you both.

  • les voix sont belles et émotives c'est le plus important! après il faudra travailler les techniques vocales pour améliorer tout ca :)

  • Angels

  • GREAT, i love your interpretation girls, very fresh

  • Its fresh, fresh, they shining

  • waauw! you should go pro !

  • This is excellent for two High school girls. - Beautifully done!

  • Hannah le da un exquisito contraste a esta melodía. Mucho más marcado que en otras versiones. Las voces son frescas y agradables. Una interpretación bella

  • Great job girls!

  • Me resulta demasiado técnica. Sin vida... Muy buenas voces, les faltaría soltarse un poco y poner el alma.

  • Lovely voices, youthful

  • J'Adore !!! Bravo ;)

  • Well done! ;-)

  • They're singing in English?)))))

  • mauvaise accoustique

  • Absolutely AMAZING.

  • Μолодец!

  • this was composed by Delibes, not Andrew Lloyd Weber. nice try tho

  • fantastic awesome :!!!:Beautiful ladys :)

  • Just seeing and hearing this and I'm very impressed. Where's David Foster when you need him? You young ladies have voices that duet on this so beautifully. Neither overpowers the other and both voices are very strong. Your synchronization of the lyrics and timing was superb and far greater than I'd have imagined high school voices to achieve. Have you sung together for very long?

  • Well done! Brava!

  • I have listened to this quite a few times, and I think it's great. Quite an accomplishment for high school!! Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • Really well done and a great start. Both of you have fine strong voices.

  • very well done

  • High school? Congratulations!

  • good job! :)

  • I would like to one day sing this with someone. Such a beautiful song. Very nicely done for both of you!

  • I'm not an expert in any way but this is my favourite version so far. Lovely. I got my daughter to come and listen and she loves it too. Thank you.

  • Wow... I wish I had that kind of voice! Well done!

  • this song is so pretty.

  • Great!

  • too fast. but still rly nicely done

  • Nice job!, most high school students don not care, or are not informed about this repertoire at all!

  • Fantásticas!

  • Fabulous, Girls. I really enjoyed this very much!! Thanks for posting it.

  • very good performance . why come with a baby to a show like this .... this I don't understand .

  • Lose the piano and would sound even better!! Great voices :D

  • vcs duas são phoda!

  • Outstanding work! Please keep up. :)

  • sweet and lovely performance I love for be amateur excellent :) 5 stars

  • a baby is crying

  • NASALIZATION 101

  • Wonderful girls, Bravo!!

    Beatiful!!!

  • Beautiful. I love it. Bravo

  • Bravo Catalina & Hannah !

  • Nice! 5/5

  • pleasantly surprised :) you sound wonderfull together!

  • carai que hermosura

  • I like these two better than most "professional" singers I've heard. The latter tend to trill too much while doing harmony, creating dissonance. These two's voices blended well together. Nice work Hanna and Catilinamada.

  • its sound good ur gr8 girls

  • Not only are you both very talented individually, you have a fantastic sensitivity to one anothers' voices. The tuning between the parts is true enough to produce some wonderful overtones. I do hope you both keep singing throughout your lives, even if it is not a career choice.

  • Well done! Girls, you should both consider studying voice and become professionals as you say you're not. But the performance is worthy of bravas!

  • i'm not good in opera, but i think you sung great.

  • wow...what great voices for such a young age! Keep up the great work. I can hear even more potential poking through this performance.

  • Nice job girls - i enjoyed it.

  • i love it

  • the godiva chocolate commercial music! hhahha this sounds incredible! charlotte church would be jealous!

  • the first one sounds pretty nasal to me...leaves much to be desired

  • I look forward to hearing your version of this, for non-professional high school girls they're well above average.

  • Just realized I'm not the only recipient of your criticisms -- Pick up Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" one day. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder my dear.

  • @wendyspeas I'm not disputing the beauty of this duet, but I am disputing that it has anything whatsoever to do with a god 'dear'.

  • You have a miraculous colour of voice... :)

I adore this duet. Greetings from Poland! Milosz, bass-baritone

  • Brilliant, Girls

  • I'm impressed! You are really talented!

  • no scoops please.

  • excellent

  • far out you guys are really good!

great pronancing all the words really good job.: )

  • Don't worry girls. You did a good job. Should keeping sharing with us. Sometime I prefer to listen to amateur performace , which i can hear the new elements and passion to music.

    Good job!!

  • A true gift from the angels in heaven -- There is a God!!

  • Mmm that's precisely what I think whenever I think of hospices for children!

Why do people attribute anything beautiful or 'good' to a god and conveniently overlook the ugly, undeserved suffering in the world. These girls have a talent which they are 100% responsible for, from hard work, practice and genuine talent, which has absolutely nothing to do with any god.

  • Mmm, have your views been jaded by some misfortune -- I commend hard work and practice, but it's obvious one could commit endless hours of hard work and have an opoposite result; surely you agree w/out composers, music, and other obvious prerequisites, this would not and could not exist. Still, you do deserve a pat on the back -- "Good job girls ... wow, you're great, you're terrific, you alone determine your fate" Better? I'd rather live with love for all than with anger, blame & judgment.

  • @wendyspeas It just irritates me when people use talented individuals or all the beautiful things in nature as some sort of 'proof' of a deity and conveniently ignore the fact that if such a being were to exist, then it would also be behind the suffering of innocents through illness, natural disasters, starvation, disease. I just find these doubl standards nauseating.

  • 100 % agree with you !

  • Girls, that was fantastic! You are both incredibly talented, and I hope you continue to pursue an education in music! Brava!!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh God!!! you both are really awesome... you touched my soul and made me cry... I have no words

  • the scoops got to cease.

  • you two girls are way better than the pianist... congrats!

  • Maybe I heard better performance, but you girls make me cry from beauty. Just because you're not professionals, you just sing because you love it. I heard that love here.

Thank you, and sorry for bad english.

    Bosnian.

  • lovely girls:) very good voices:)

  • nice job. le pronounced not "lay" but more "luh"

on your first viens gagnons le bord (mezzo soprano) .

very nicely done for american girls though.

i play clarinet and am thinking of checking out if i can do this as a duet. would have to get it checked by fba tho

  • awesome - you should both apply to Julliard

  • it's great but a baby is crying jesus!

  • Great! I love this duet and you are simply great!!!! :*

  • Very Very Well done to both of you, esp the soprano....looking forward to hear you sing in covent garden in the future!!!

  • That was lovely. :)

  • congratulations! a very beatiful performance

  • Deux jeunes américaines qui apprécie la musique classique française ...

    Bravo, bel effort !!

  • Im not an expert, nor even reasonably acquainted with the conditions that characterize the difficulty of a vocal piece. However, I do find singing to be very pleasing, save the reality tv nonsense. Point is, im not a credible critic haha. Regardless of my stature, I must say, that the two of you(despite your lack of training or i at least get that impression from your assessment of the performance) sang in a very soothing range and with pleasant combination. Keep up the good work!

  • Well done neither hard to listen to and not hard on the eye either

  • I shed a tear. Beautiful, ladies.

  • lovely job girls! Your accompanist rushed you a little I think? You have great gifts and well suited for this piece, keep singing!

  • you can't be serious! high school? you have both wonderfully performed one of my favourite pieces. very few LIVE LONG ENOUGH to develop talent to match what you have wrought in your young years! please keep up the great work- i look forward to seeing both of you as featured artists someday soon!

  • This was incredible. You both are very talented. All the best to you both in your futures!

  • This was performed at a high school choir concert? Glad to see that culture is not dead. Very nicely done. :)

  • Superb.

  • You 2 have beautiful voices, congratulations!

  • quite good for high school choir.

  • JAPAN 4!!1!

  • Wow a chinese version awesome.

  • i'm not sure how to take that comment..

  • No worries. You are good.

  • @Catalinamada you already took it like a lady

  • @einbischen LOL

  • @einbischen hahaha geiler comment hahahaha n1

  • @einbischen it is in french

  • bello!!!

  • Singing a French tune in French while you can't speak French is not particularly interesting. The words are merely uttered and no meaning comes out of the garble.

  • C'est mignon quand même !

  • Lovely! Your voices sound so very sweet together! I hope you haven't stopped singing!

  • I like this song, I love Netrebko and Garacna. Lovely voices.

  • I have seen this video more than once. I think you both are really good. I only think the tempo is a little fast.

    Congratulations

  • I hope that both of you are planning on studying somewhere and pursuing this beautiful talent. I have a degree in vocal performance from SMU and I never had this much talent in high school! I would love to hear you with some strings behind you instead of just piano. Great tone!

  • Agreed. Strings > Piano.

  • What high school? It must be a good one.

  • I'm crying. That was beautiful. This video speaks for itself, You have a great future.

  • ja!!! no puedo creer que seas tu la de este video! y yo que adoro este duet!!! casualidades de la vida?! no me queda mas que repetirte: tienes una hermosa voz y te extrano demasiado. un gran beso,

    Luis Manuel

  • Although you are not professionals, you both have great potential to become great singers. I love your video, keep up the excellent work.

    All the best

  • i loved this. i have no complaints other than maybe wishing the sound and video! resolution was better. are you guys going to sing for a university choir?

  • Muy bonita interpretacion.Bravo!!

  • You singers did AMAZING. seriously? high school? Grade A.

    However that pianist failed, utterly.

  • little bit fast, french just need to be practiced.. but beautiful, really... i enjoyed it very much.... you are artists...

  • you dont sound very far from professionals, i think you underestimated the performance. it was wonderful.

  • this was beautiful! I have sung this duet myself (as the soprano) and it's lovely! There is one small thing I wanted to say, you should work on your french... and mabye learn it by heart so you don't need to look in your notes all the time! the experience is so much better (trust me, I know...) Anyway, beautiful!

  • You did it very well

    :D

  • Beautifully sung.

  • nice harmony, very tight. however, contrary to your video description, i hear two sopranos : ) haha

  • Absolutely gorgeous. I wish I could sing like that.... just one small piece of advice for next time, though... try not to keep it in tune with your vibrato. Other than that, it's beautiful!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Fabulous! You both have great futures.

  • Little bit fast indeed.

  • much too fast, it's well done, really, but it's like they're in a hurry

    i can't enjoy it

  • i agree with you. i actually didn't want to perform it at that speed, but it was the pianist's idea to play at that tempo, unfortunately.. =/ ah well, there are many things i would change if i ever sang this again haha.

  • @Catalinamada well as the soloist, you control the pianist.. soo if you wanna go slower slow your roll.. and he/she will have to follow.

  • @Catalinamada

Well as you being the solosit/performer the pianist has to follow you.. So if you wanna take it slow, then slow it down with your recatative and the pianist WILL have to follow no matter what.. Its basic rules of performing a vocal piece

  • That was incredible, I clicked on this thinking I would hate it, This is a terribly difficult song to sing, you were both understandably nervous, the accoustics were terrible and that dumb parent brought the baby and yet you both still nailed it. You should be very proud !!! I would be if you were my daughter!

  • mmm.......... she sing with fear, both of them, the flower duet must be sing with passion.. i did not like.

  • Very impressive.

  • beautiful i wish i could do that voi sunteti romance?

  • MAGNIFICO

  • i hate when ppl takes babys to preformences :D

  • haha amen.

  • I agree!

  • i know...

it sucks.. they should just leave them in the car...

  • very nice ..

  • just to marvelous for words!

  • the voices are so good compared to the piano ==....

at the end.. the piano just plunks 2 notes like that ...... =/ just critism... but it's really really prettyyy =DDD

  • really pretty =)

  • nasal

  • yeah.. i apologize. this was when i didn't have much training, i just enjoyed classical music.

  • don't get me wrong the notes were all hit perfectly!!

  • That was fantastic! You girls did an amazing job! :)

  • Very nice ladies! I sang this with my sister last year at her senior recital. Its not easy to learn...I'm suprised to see you singing it in high school. Keep up the good work!

  • amo esa cantata y en si lakme es de mis operas favoritas...bellas damitas

    felisidades

    besos chao♥

  • sehr gut,ich denke diese art von kultur hilft amerika aus der kriese.

well done, i think this kind of culture will help america out of the crisis.

  • Good job girls, nice balance and blending of harmonies. Try to be off book and singing out into the audience with communicative eye contact at all times, use the score just for reference. Keep up the good work.

  • not too bad. vowels were a little interesting, but you have a nice blend. i absolutely love this piece

  • congratulations, ladies! beautiful voices, great performance. thank you for sharing it with us. :))

  • really, famous duet, famous voices!

  • amazing! Your voices mesh so well !

  • pretty good

  • magnificiant

  • You two girls are awesome.

    Beautiful, delightful performance!

  • I am working on this with a friend right now, I sing the mezzo part and it is difficult stuff. good job!

  • Seriously BAMF! Thanks for the vid.

  • sabrosas

  • Podre!!!! Tira a voz do nariz!!!!!

  • Don't get too nasal and shrill, especially on the french. Did you work on pronounciation?

    That's my only problem.

    Otherwise, this is very nice.

  • hermosas las dos si les falta tecnica no importra para ser principiantes han dado mejores notas que muchas profesionales que venden discos

  • wish I could have been there

  • very beautiful soprano tones

  • grrrrooooaaaahhhhhh....eeaaaoohh...maeeeew..hahahaha

  • se aude grozav! mi-ar fi placut sa continui in liceu cu astfel de lectii,dar...

    bravo

  • you sound great but neither of you are mezzos.

  • nah we are both definitely sopranos! haha.
