Blood Alpha map 01

I remember playing A LOT with this pre-release version of Blood. I was lucky enough to find it years ago. I can say that ALL the maps has been replaced for the actual release, as well as some monsters, the engine is better as well and there's no music in the released version. When you died, you respawned at the beginning of the map without any loading. One thing that sucked in pre-release is the lighting, and maps were too blocky, too boring compared to the final version.

You have to go into setup and configure the sound and music, use these settings:

Sound -> SoundBlaster -> 16bit -> Stereo -> 32 -> 44 KHz -> 220h -> Sound blaster 16 or AWE32 -> IRQ 7 -> Channel 1 -> Channel 5

Music -> General Midi -> 330h

That should fix all of it.

I need a little help guys... my Blood Alpha won't start up. I tried with DOSBox 0.74 and it says every time "src\sound.cpp (230): Playback failed, possibly due to an invalid or conflicting IRQ"

I tried everything in the Setup, then I tried to modify the Blood.ini, but nothing helped. Any Ideas? Please, I would really like to play that.

this version plays much more like doom 2 than duke 3d, wich the final version is more similar.

some of the more finished levels in blood alpha BLOW AWAY most of the levels in the final version. must have been levellord's levels, which they must not have been able to use when they broke apart from affiliation with 3drealms

cool, much cooler than the finished version. the shotgun is much cooler but the final sprite for it is gray and tnt is way badass. btw do you happen to own a copy of blood alpha?

Ok so does this new version change story like this guy joined the cult and got betrayed and stuff. How come the Shotgun can Only carry 50 bullets that i have noticed, And also the zombies don't seem to get knockdowns unless they die but in the other blood they get knockdowns when they didn't die. The spray can says you have 7 bullets, Is it actually how much cans you got or is it how much flame the spray cans carry?

The shotgun sound has changed like a realistic shotgun sound, the spray can has changed a bit black and the flames have changed which was all pretty cool. But What I don't like is the dyminate its too skinny. But How does your pitchfork shoot fire at the beginning?

i think the napalm ball is the secondary fire of the pitckfork.

but this attack is only on the alpha version of blood.

@nelsonguo2 Well, the reason the dynamite is too skinny, is because, it's a STICK of dynamite. Not a bundle of dynamite. Ever thought of that?

Ok I do not get this, How does your pitchfork shoot fire? The sawed-off is Blacker which is true. How come its called something like key one instead of skull key. what blood is this? So this is the best version of blood1?
