By the way, did anyone notice the "ya take two sugars in your tea" line in the 2nd chorus (my tea in the 3rd), and realize that Noel may have stolen it from Liam? I wonder. The only place I'd ever heard that previously was some acoustic thing from '94 that Noel and Bonehead did, some Creation Records party or something, and Noel sang that line in the last chorus- ONLY time I'd ever heard it. Until now, and this came first! Okay, I rambled, no cares anymore.

@oasisfanmatt The first Gibson he got was from Johnny Marr, who had received it from Pete Townshend. Noel Then promptly broke it while fending off a fan who had gotten on stage. If you watch the Supersonic video from the Word, in March of 94, he has that Gibson.

There's just something about this performance that has such a legendary status for me - esp. in the myth of Oasis. You've got a beautiful location, Gleneagles, combined with the dark footage with really bright lights that shine on the band members, esp. Liam, making him appear larger than life, then you combine that with the amazing performance by Liam, where he sings "you and I are gonna live forever" part which he no longer does, and him holding the microphone, equals a legendary performance!

@LylaRox I'd agree with that, and whoever did the sound for this gig earnt every penny of their wage. Every instrument and vocal sounds absolutely colossal and in such perfect sync with one another. If the audience had been a "normal" one rather than a corporate one, I think that this would be remembered as one of the truly great gigs because band and audience would have fed off one another in the way that happens when a live show is going really well.

Yes, you're spot on there. This is the period (94 - early 95) when Liam's voice was pure, unlike the Johnny Rotten/John Lennon karaoke frontman that he soon became.

I completely agree. he made his mark in 1994, it was downhill from there. once he stopped singing the line "you and I are gonna live forever" and handed it over to Noel, they lost their edge. Oasis 1994 forever!
