this is history! i love the early oasis stuff! liam's the best frontman ever & this is probably the best live forever performance i've ever seen. this whole gig should be released properly on a dvd!
By the way, did anyone notice the "ya take two sugars in your tea" line in the 2nd chorus (my tea in the 3rd), and realize that Noel may have stolen it from Liam? I wonder. The only place I'd ever heard that previously was some acoustic thing from '94 that Noel and Bonehead did, some Creation Records party or something, and Noel sang that line in the last chorus- ONLY time I'd ever heard it. Until now, and this came first! Okay, I rambled, no cares anymore.
legendary voice...reminds me the best moments of my life...thanks for your old voice liam...i will never hear again in the whole world something like that....
@oasisfanmatt I think he has a Gibson here. You can tell from the shape of the headstock and the tuners. Johnny Marr lent him this guitar; which he got from Pete Townshend; which Noel broke while fending off a fan who climbed on stage. If you watch the supersonic video from the word you can see it more easily.
@oasisfanmatt The first Gibson he got was from Johnny Marr, who had received it from Pete Townshend. Noel Then promptly broke it while fending off a fan who had gotten on stage. If you watch the Supersonic video from the Word, in March of 94, he has that Gibson.
lmao, look at liam's eyes for fuck sakes, completely blitzed. it's a wonder he could even sing, but the earlier the performance, generally the higher he looks, and the better he sounds. I guess it actually makes him sound better rather than worse.
makes me sick how justin bieber can get 100 million views for one of his shitty pop video's yet this legendary song only has 29 thousand views!! what has this world come to??
@respectsince86 back in the 90's liam and noel both used to sing that part...but in the later years when liam's voice started to deteriorate he couldn't hit those high notes anymore so noel took over that part completely
" GONNA LIVE FOREVER ". no desafina para nada. unos de los pocos videos que he visto que no desafina en esa parte. lo canta con una fuerza imprecionante. buena epoca.
God- if only all those coporate people in the crowd were swapped with all us proper oasis fans! oasis sound amazing and look cool so how can those people in the crowd stay still? :S
There's just something about this performance that has such a legendary status for me - esp. in the myth of Oasis. You've got a beautiful location, Gleneagles, combined with the dark footage with really bright lights that shine on the band members, esp. Liam, making him appear larger than life, then you combine that with the amazing performance by Liam, where he sings "you and I are gonna live forever" part which he no longer does, and him holding the microphone, equals a legendary performance!
@LylaRox I'd agree with that, and whoever did the sound for this gig earnt every penny of their wage. Every instrument and vocal sounds absolutely colossal and in such perfect sync with one another. If the audience had been a "normal" one rather than a corporate one, I think that this would be remembered as one of the truly great gigs because band and audience would have fed off one another in the way that happens when a live show is going really well.
Amazing!!!!!!! Liam's voice gives me chills and it's just so effortless! I would call this an effortless masterpiece!!!!! Best live performance of this song!!!!
simply mindblowing. just a perfect performance. love oasis love the songs and the lyrics and i can listen to them all day. would love to see them live one day. the new album is great. greets to all oasis fans out there.
Yes, you're spot on there. This is the period (94 - early 95) when Liam's voice was pure, unlike the Johnny Rotten/John Lennon karaoke frontman that he soon became.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I completely agree. he made his mark in 1994, it was downhill from there. once he stopped singing the line "you and I are gonna live forever" and handed it over to Noel, they lost their edge. Oasis 1994 forever!
God, the end is just pure talent
