I attended the 2003 Final Four in Atlanta and stayed at the team's hotel where I had a close up and personal look at the Tennessee players, coaches and families. What a warm, loving, straight-up group! Even in loss, the entire organization was a class act. Through it all, at the heart of every action, was Coach Summit, leading, teaching, counseling and taking care of business in the most elegant way imaginable. I've been a devoted Pat Summit fan ever since. You are truly one of a special few.
I have the most respect and admiration for Pat Summitt. She and the Lady Vols are the reason I moved to TN. A friend told me today she had heard Pat speak at a motivational seminar and at the end was ready to follow her to the end of the world.
Pat, I love you very and am praying for you. I know that you are going to beat this disease and be even more of an inspriation to us all. I hope this is the best season ever for the Lady Vols. God Bless you!!
@earnestinedelamar, I hate to burst your bubble, but the fact is you can't cure this. That's a fact, you can slow the progression down with cognitive therapy, but its a progressive illness. If she makes it to 65 by that time she probably won't remember what she had for breakfast. Those type of people are either put in nursing homes or require long term home care. That's just the reality of dementia patients. Most become incontinent due to the illness. That's just a fact of the matter.

When I heard the news about Pat I just was heartbroken. What a wonderful woman she is. I hope and pray that she will be able to be as strong in her fight with this awful illness as she is in her coaching. Everybody I know loves her and is praying for her.
