  • vdry interesting mosst feel the idea of castrating alittle boy from8 to 10 so his c vouce woud not change hwhll they would not do tht today I do ot se why it could not be done with drugs vollintary and if hte would be cstato decided he wanto to go threw puberty then stop the dugs and like at age 19 puberty or cstration,oh one wonders what the thousand of boys do that e were not good enogh to sing profesion for they would not be very strong unlike animals like an ox

  • can you upload the whole thing!!?????

  • For God's sake people! What is with those scenes? A man without balls cannot have sex with a woman!

  • @aalexmary well actually apparently you are wrong..... he cant supply sperm but the rest worked apparently according to earlier records....

  • @flowforms No. A castrated man is incapable of a sexual act. He can kiss or hug, but the main "course" is out of his reach.

  • @aalexmary Wrong. The main sex drive of a man is a result of the testes, and castration can, and has, deprived men of their sex drives, but you can indeed have intercourse.

  • @ihatenjoi So wrong from medical point of view

  • @aalexmary +It's not realistic. Farinelli was chubby. He wasn't that mannish like this.

  • @tinpanalley67 Yes, I know

  • women were attracted to his voice ??? he sounded just like a woman, wierd

  • excelente pelicula!!! reflejando un poco lo que farinelli fue...

  • This film can only be described as magnificent. Absolutley STUPENDOUS. loved it.

  • j'aimerais connaître le titre de l'air qu'il chante. The name of the song? what is the opera?

  • @helenequenel "Son qual nave" de Riccardo Broschi

  • trop bon c'est .......

  • er....no

  • lol I just discovered that it wasn't. My music professor orignally told me it was his voice. I guess she was mistaken too. lol

  • What does the name Farinelli mean?

  • Same thing that John or Mike means, I am sure.

  • No one knows for sure, but it's supposed that he was sponsored by some banker Farino.

  • Farinelli was his stage name. the real one is Carlo Maria Broschi. "Farina" means flour in italian

  • Farina was also a reference to the fact that flour was used to powder the faces of performers on stage to make some facial traits more apparent from further away and using charcoal to outline the eyes, eyebrows. . .

  • Farina was the family that patrioted behind the castrates, if youre going to talk about something, first know it !!

  • @Adyyss Correct, at least in the case of Farinelli. The film portrayel is fiction, as is the trumpet dual as shown. For an informed biography, go to the website MaleSopranos, then Articles, then Farinelli, then "An Amazing Life: Carlo Broschi Farinelli."

  • Do you have issues with talent that others enjoy? If you do I advise you keep your sad , culturless opinios to yourself.

  • Does anyone know the name of this aria?

    Thanx

  • Son Qual Nave Ch'agitata

  • how does he have sex??

  • they can't have ejaculation but they can have sex:D

  • hrm... i think this vid provokes the wrong idea of farinelli. he was a cuppingglas for lady's, yes, but that's not all the movie's about, right? it isn't a pornmovie, right?

  • magnifique !! que de sensations !!

  • cfrwff1ff1fefwewe1

  • este trailer deberia ser difundido ya que la pelicula recrea la vida de uno de los castratis mas importantes de la historia cuenta con una excelente y elaboradisima banda sonora que intenta mostrarnos lo que fue la gran voz de estos prodigios cantantes

  • the most disturbing, haunting, terrible but beautiful thing I've ever seen.

  • beautiful things are like that.. the world is a difficult place!

  • terry820=ignorant philistine

  • Agreed. The exsistence of such a beautiful voice is a master piece in itself.

  • yes. hundreds of parents took the qruel risk; only one third of their children would live after such a disgusting operation. but it's the price they payed for the most beautiful voices of opera.

every advantage has a disadvantage, no matter how big

  • Moreschi's recordings are not accurate. He did not have the same level of training as Farinelli. His selections were lame. He was used to singing in a choir, not as a soloist. He was so nervous that he was shaking. It is a different story.

No matter how you feel about the morality of the castrati situation, by all accounts they were amazing singers.

  • Castratos didn't sound like women actually.

  • I agree. They would have sounded different.

  • Yes and Moreschi was an amateur church singer. To compare Moreschi and Farinelli would be like comparing an amateur church tenor to Caruso.
