  • @JoeTakeHolly Thank you kindly for listening and the generous remarks!!

  • Bernie, I can hear 'history' in your playing, always love to listen to you! You're so authentic in what you do. Thoroughly enjoyed the listen. :) Janet

  • @onewomanandsomesongs Thanks for the kind remarks Janet -- much appreciated!

  • Sounds great Bernie! I like the sedated speed myself. Clark did burn the fiddle up on his tunes though.

  • @sizefam4 Hi Gary! For some reason I missed your comment -- thanks so much!

  • good job!!and play.

    frans

  • Wonderful! 'My love is but a lassie yet' from Scotland with some additions!

  • @fireflyxl5 Hello and thanks for the good words! I need to find the words for that tune one of these days!!

  • Thanks so much Martin! Yes its a fun tune and there are some totally different ones like Chinquipin Hunting and the like too. Wegens are my main everyday picks now -- but sometimes for a change I'll go back to my ProPlecs or play with a Red Bear. Actually the RB picks with a speed bevel feel nearly the same a Wegens to me. Red Bear just a tad brighter? The unbeveled are not so good in my hands! LOL not that it means much!

  • Hey Bernie, that sounded great! Very happy melody. I've heard it as Chinquipin, but not the other titles. How do you like your Wegan pick?

  • @mgwhitehead I don't know how I missed your comment Martin -- but here is a belated THANK YOU!

  • Hey Bernie! Haven't been over here in a while! Good to hear the mando!! This music makes me happy! Hope you have a good day/night! T:)

  • @agrlfmtx Hello! Thanks for the shout & the smile! I'll drop by your channel to see what you and your conspirators in music are up to these days. Something interesting I am sure of that!

  • Nice, I like this one Bernie. A good song on the mandolin. I like the way you give a little bit of the history on the song. Thanks for sharing, my friend. Take care. Gwen

  • @cadjunk Many thanks! Its one of my favorite tunes (at least for this week, LOL).

  • Very nice!!

  • @marian444 Thank you very much for the generous comment! (<:

  • Now that's some great PICKIN! Crisp, clear and right on point! Not bad, not bad at all!

  • @PossumJoesMando Thanks -- I like the tune a lot it feels right to me. I wish I had waited a day before recording it though -- I am a lot more comforatable with it now -- but I never learn. (<:

  • I have heard this tune before, never knowing the name, thanks for posting, and very well done.

  • @Chiboou2 It does have Celtic origins I believe -- I found out today that it is also called Miss Farquarson's reel as well. Maybe Smiley fiddled it under some other name?

  • Your Playing spreads the joy of your Talent and Knowledge !!!

  • @pandadan1 Thanks so much for listening! I really loved all your harp guitar work as well!!!

  • Very cool!!!! Wow!!! really appreciate your detailed background of the songs, and instrument and strings on which you are playing it, you must be a musicologist!!!!

  • @Cj12sings Well thanks a lot for tuning in and for the kind remark as well -- I am indeed interested in the origins of fiddle tunes -- but its just a hobby. (<:
