Tame whitetail deer invades turkey hunting party

My mother's neighborhood adopted a baby deer found near her dead mother. she was a sight to see - there are pictures of her playing frisbee with kids. I treasure my time with her. She wore a big red collar to identify she was tame, but it wasn't hard to figure out when she tried to climb in your truck. Unfortunately, a neighborhood crazy called her over and shot her dead because her was angy at his neighbor. And that is the up and downside of taming a deer.

well when people raise up baby deers and when its time to let them go , they would put orange collars on them so hunters will know not to shoot them, since it is not fair for an animal that lost its fear of humans to be hunted.

Neat. I called in a young buck while spring turkey hunting. He was curious about the call and kept popping in and out of the trees for about 10 minutes to figure out what the hell I was. He got within 15 yards!

If you closer at the coller, it's in the last notch. Like whom ever had this deer, let it out as the deer grew. In my state, it's illegal to keep wildlife as pets. The people that have the permits to keep wildlife, on a temporary basis, is wildlife rehabilitators. That collar is going to be imbedded in that deer's neck as she grows. And I've seen does that field dressed out at 200lbs. Someone needs to harvest this deer before that happens.

she reminds me of deerspots. and I'm proud to call her my daughter and she's a young female deer. always comes in house at night and sleeps on bed with me. deer and dogs all much alike. but most only think about murder and if lots had farmland and took a few deer in for pets and had them looked after like dogs there wouldn't be soo much messed up fighting. that may happen one day. hopefully. :)

There are actually more deer in North America now than when the Europeans first came here. Black Bear, too, apparently. I love animals as much as the next guy, but if I am prepared to eat meat from a grocery store, or wear leather (I do both), I would be hipocrite to condemn hunting. The hunter even offered a hand to the deer. I'd say the majority of hunters have big hearts and respect animals. i had a pet deer exeperience some years ago, i was at my bros place and this deer comes out of the woods, walks right up to me. i pet the damn thing, hug it etc etc, my frined got pics of it. turns out it was raised by humans, the mother was killed on the highway.  unfortunatley it wandered too far and got shot by hunters. what a shame
