Ugh, I was looking so forward to this city and its music, and when I finally got to it in a hurry, I was slammed with something new in the face. New, but strange and disappointing nevertheless, since I was thinking of the original's cheerful, yet slow and noble (maybe even somewhat austere) sound.

Sorry, but I prefer this over the original Goldenrod theme. This theme is catchy and contrasts the National Park theme. Plus, it matches Whitney and gives a surprise (to people who never played the original) that the Radio Tower gets taken over in this cheerful city.

I think the music-makers COMPLETELY missed what it was we liked about the original. It wasn't the tune so much as it was the emotional feel to it: sadness, happiness, triumph, longing, it was just emotional! Slow, yet invigorating. This new one is too carefree and too "yat daddah-dah-dah" staccato-ish. At least there's a way to listen to the original, but it would've been nice to hear something with the same soul coming from the improved sound technology.

I'm not blinded by nostalgia when I say I prefer the older theme, because I think some of them, like Rival Battle, Dark Cave and even the regular Trainer Battle theme are pretty awesome. But I prefer the 8-bit version for tracks like New Bark Town and Goldenrod.

Oh, and make sure it's a female so Attract won't have any effect on it. Mine was a male so the plan kindof failed. Spam Rock Polish and you'll win sooner or later. Really though, as long as it's a female Geodude/Graveler with Rock Polish it shouldn't be too much trouble, you can take out her entire team with a strong Graveler, I'm just obsessed with perfect natures, IV's and EV's.

My method is the best: Breed a Geodude on a separate cartridge (Impish nature), then hatch it on your HG/SS save file. Send it back and have it EV trained for defense and attack, level it up until it evolves into a Graveler, then trade it back AGAIN to your HG/SS file, and poof, you have a Golem! I still had difficulties despite this, so the joke's on me XD

My strategy was to beat the Clefairy with Flaafy, let the Miltank take out the Flaafy (so it'd possibly get paralyzed by Static, which it did), and then switch to Snubbull and spam Charm.

Milk Drink is always a problem, though. ;-;

Not sure if it's something lost in the adaptation from the 8-bit counterparts or just me being some sort of nostalgiafag in regards to 8-bit music in general but... there must be a little something missing in the remixes cause they aren't quite doing it for me here.

This is my FAVORITE town theme...from both versions of the game. Personally i enjoy the remix more because it sounds more like a big city theme than the original. The original if you remember was quieter...MUCH quieter. I just think the big cities of pokemon (there's one in each game which can be marked by there being a 6-floor department store in it and the temp headquarters of the game's EVIL organization) should have big city music. :D
