@indendunklenschatten They -do- know what it looks like on the inside before using something like this, the host is just playing up the ignorance to make it more dramatic (Mack can be a jackass). Teams doing dynamic entry almost never enter an area completely blind. They'd use any combination of thermal optics, cameras, etc. to get a good idea of what's going on inside before moving, because harming one of the hostages is what they don't want.

@frallan93 they're professionals, they know what they're doing. in a real situation, they probably have fiber optic cameras and proper planning and intel and such (maybe thermal cameras if they're available) to make sure the explosive would be placed on a wall away from a hostage or friendly before breaching.
