Mick Karn has retractable wheels!!!! I knew he was an alien. Got bored of the shiny monkeys here and decided to go back home. R.I.P. Mick! I don't know how you managed to stay on Earth so long without dying of boredom from the absurdity of man. Thanks for bringing the Wal bass.... and the microwave to earth!
@triciapowers If you do a Google search on "mick karn obituary," you will find several good articles that describe his life and career. I highly recommend the one written by Pierre Perrone of The Independent.
I remember being "dragged" along to, maybe this gig, circa 1983 at the Hammesrsmith Odeon by my brother, not knowing that a few years later I would start to play bass guitar and that Mick would be an incredible influence.
You're right, It was, I thought it was 81 but seeing this has confirmed the year. It all seems such a long time ago now but this still sounds as fresh now as it did then.
They played two nights in a row and I saw them on the second night... 5 rows from the stage. It was brilliant and it still remains my favourite all time gig... I miss those days!
