Everyone is so damn critical on guitar videos. It's obvious that you aren't attempting to play something in particular. I do the same thing when I want to play the guitar but don't have anything in mind. Just wankery and messing around with scales. But then comes the insecure wanna-be musicians on Youtube, "You aren't playing what I like and you should feel bad!" Suddenly everyone is measuring their e-dicks with precision rulers... Christ. Anyways, that's my rant for the afternoon.

Cut out the neck pickup. Most fretless bassist do that. Granted if you can get a f-less with a piezo system that would be better. Look at F Bass and Rob Allen. Those are my personal favorites for f-less. Although Le Fay has the Remington Steele while has beautiful sustain also. Please note that these are just my opinions.

But as it is, you're wrong, so you look even worse. Proving it is as simple as searching "fretless slap bass" right here on YouTube, or listening to many Primus songs.
Sorry, but it's for the first time in my life : )that I'm playing fretless bass, but it was awesome : ) I have no idea how fender bass sound like, but as for me, Warwick have a great sound, and of course it depends what amp's you're using, by the way it was also Warwick amp : )
@pilfover I totally get that it was your first time, but IMO it's not a good idea to put your first time on YouTube... anyway, you don't know what a Fender bass sounds like? As a bassist, you should... probably the best-loved basses in the world.
