  • do you have an exhaust system on this? or is it stock?

  • Hi, I'm planning on buying this for my 08 4.6. How much did it cost you? And I'm kinda confused because the muffler shop where I got my Flowmaster installed was telling me that they sell two kinds, one with the tube? and one without?, he didn't tell me how much they cost, all he said was that the price difference is like 100bux. IYO you think it would be better to get the one with tube??? BTW it does sound sweet as hell!!!

  • @jalbm222 Get exactly what I have here..if it looks different then don't get it. Most importantly make sure you can hook your sensor into the "tube". I cannot remember what I paid exactly but I got it on eBay so it was probably a bargain. I bought it from extremeintakes101 on eBay but they don't have anything for sale right now and I can't view the price since it was too long ago (Jul. 15, 2010).

  • Respond to this video... Perhaps I found what he (muffler shop) was talking about....Airaid has a wide-open modular cold air intake tube which secures onto the setup I have. They didn't have it when I bought mine. All it does is replace the factory "tube" coming from the engine. I wouldn't worry about it. Your not going to get any more performance out of it for the money you are going to spend. Save the money and get exhaust or something.

  • @cw8307 Yeah, i'm probably just going to go with the exact same setup you got w/o the $100 dollar plastic tube, to go with my flowmaster exhaust. Thanks for the info. Definately not worth replacing the tube you already have for the extra hundred.

  • @jalbm222 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND changing out the tube. If they ever offer a M.I.T. for this truck just get that and keep the stock airbox with a nice drop in filter (its already a C.A.I.). It will sound better and you will actually get a performance gain from it. This airbox/cone filter setup does nothing for you

  • @08SilveradoLT I know it does nothing. I think I said that earlier. I like the sound so it went in the truck. Thanks for the tip though. I will probably sell this truck in the spring and get a new project.

  • @08SilveradoLT thanks for the advice, I will try to find a place that sells just the tube, or I might make my own. If you happen to run across a place that just sells the tubes, let me know, thanks again.

  • @cw8307 They have 2 or 3 setups but basically what you have here does nothing for you performance-wise and isn't as loud as it could be. The intake tube still has all 5 silencer/expansion chambers... The option I had for my truck was the M.I.T. where you use the stock airbox (which is perfectly fine) and you just replace the tube with a straight-through design without the expansion chambers/silencers

  • you got the 5.4 or 4.6

  • @2003f1504x4 4.6L bud

  • @cw8307 thanks man

  • @2003f1504x4 No problem..thanks for looking! Good luck with whatever intake you choose. By the way...I was cruising through the city with all four windows down and the sound of the intake still puts a big smile on my face. You can't hear it well in the winter but with the windows down it whistles nicely. I guess the only issue is I tend to push the pedal a little more just to hear it suck air.

  • @cw8307 heck yea man im the same way

  • @2003f1504x4 It's not like they improve performance that much...I just enjoy the whooooooshhhh

  • Awsome

  • @1CodBlackOps1

Thanks..I play Black Ops as well
