After watching Chamberlin walking with his new wheel chair I came back to watch this again. First time I saw this I cried so hard. Anyone who hasnt seen him lately, search facebook for Chamberlin and you will see a happy dog. The people at Guilford Shelter are awesome.

This is horiffic, It made me cry im so happy Chamberlin is getting cared for now. I live in Australia i would love Chamberlin to live with me i would care for him for the rest of his life. I would treat him like a king & give him so many cuddles.
This video is bittersweet, it's lovely to see people going out their way to save animals like these, yet it's distressing to know there are still so many that haven't been found and won't be saved. Keep up the good work. Charities like you are under appreciated.
When I see a starving animal, the memory of my late Mastiff brings tears to my eyes. She was near Chamberlin's condition at 51.2lbs but her legs hadn't given out yet. China enjoyed 2 years of her long, hard life with my family before cancer took her beautiful soul and sent it to the Bridge.. I'll see her again.

Until laws are changed to recognize animals as living beings they will continue to suffer. The laws see them as personal property ( such as a couch) and dont care. Most places have no tethering laws ( don't have them here). I called about an old dog tethered, no shelter, had no water, no food ,hip problems . They didn't care. I did, poof he was gone! Stand up for the voiceless!
It is election time so it would be good now to voice your opinion about Animal welfare or rather the lack of.

This form of treatment happens each and every day. You would think our species that calls itself 'human' would be more human? This is just one lucky dog, there are millions out there that still need help.
It is sad when our species cannot see or feel the pain that we inflict on others. It makes us seem dead! Where we have no feelings. What a sad world we have created.
When I see cases like this my heart just sinks and I feel two strong emotions, the first being THANK GOD they are now safe and will heal and the other is absolute anger that any human being could allow this to happen to a friend they were meant to shelter, care, protect and love. Then in too often I see the criminal who caused such suffering is EXTREMELY OVERWEIGHT, and living in a warm and sheltered place . I would give up food in order to feed our animal kids - and I give up my home for them !
I'm so glad that God gave me a heart. Obviously, there are way too many people in this world that weren't lucky enough to get one. I sob as I watch this video. It breaks my heart to see or hear of an animal mistreated. Dogs are the most loving animals on earth. I wonder how many people would be able to still love and trust a human after experiencing such horrible abuse. Thank God for the good, kind and compassionate people who are there to help this sweet dog back to good health.

@GCAnimalShelter, I love you guys for this, I volunteered at the Loudon County animal shelter for a long time here in TN and they put dogs down left and right, even when not OVERWHELEMED with dogs. They had dogs they liked and would keep for months over dogs that just got there. My worst memory of volunteering there is a woman got a divorce and was forced to move with her two children to an appartment housing area they didn't allow dogs, so she had to give up her 2 american bulldog puppies -
@GCAnimalShelter And she told the animal shelter to give her a call if they couldn't home them and she would do EVERYTHING she could to get them homes (she had been trying) The next morning both were put down not even given a chane beautiful 6 month old both just charming, not mean or unfriendly, verylovable dogs, and the animal shelter just put them down cause they were owner surrenders.
OMG, they forgot the dog and it wasn't found until they mowed the law. They should be imprisoned and forgotten to rod but I suppose they will just get a slap on the wrist as usual, so they can go on and do the same thing all over again.
Oh this is so sad and cruel. I don't get people. Look at the nails on this dog!!!! Skin and bones and in such seriously bad medical condition. I will be praying for you Chamberlin
How could any human being simply forget about gorgeous Chamberlain!!!!!! @ slyman - Obviously one cannot LITERALLY be subhuman. So I will just say these are wretched, horrid humans. And the planet has more than enough of those. I don't buy that a malevolent, cruel and neglectful human is worth more than a dog.
@TheQuickmack~people are like that because they we raised in a malevolent, cruel and neglecful child hood and had no one to love them. Maybe if you gave your loving kidness to a person in need it could help them to see that there is more to being cruel and negelctful. Its because your love is spent more on a dog rather then a person who is in more need. Spread the love to others, and see how the result of that could save countless dogs by a gradual cease in the need to neglet a helpless animal.
@slyman4u I disagree with you. I had a terrible, abusive and neglected childhood and my passion is helping animals. I love animals more than humans. My childhood didn't turn me into a treating animals cruelty it had the opposite effect. I think people are either compassionate, caring and feel for animals or they are just plain inhumane and cruel, actually evil is the word I should use.
that makes 2 of us, I never done drugs & I would never treat an animal tis way, when I was beaten, my dog was there for me, when I was abused my dog was there, when family court jumped in, my lawyer Joyce Corn was there, I was 13 years old, 30 years later I still love dogs better then humans.
animals like children are pure innocense..they only ask for love from those who take them in ( or in case of children those who give birth ). sometimes animals in many cases are more devoted/appreciative then kids but that is besides the point. A human has the ability to judge and apply forgiveness. Honestly, it is alright to love animals. But to be so emotionally tied to them to where you'd wish death to someone is completely mental in it's self.
Subhuman? Reality wise, there is no such thing. You are either human or not. Unless you are saying they are terminally/mentally ill and should be rid off. You may not understand this, but a creature like Chamberlin was at the mercy of humans and look how his tail still wags despite how he was treated. This is the purest kind of unconditional love there is. He asks nothing, demands nothing. He is simply grateful for whatever he receives.
@bearnpici I 100% agree with this! Not that other animals aren't loving either but dogs are one of a kind. They are truely grateful for whatever you give them. It breaks my heart to see this. Those people that allowed this to happen should have to watch this video over and over and over.

@PatW43 Of course he made noise but, obviously, he was ignored. He may have been owned but he certainly did not have a family and there is no way to justify this horrendous abuse and neglect. Unfortunately our lawmakers are too busy stuffing their own pockets to concern themselves with the suffering of the animals in this country.
How is it possible a nice size dog can be forgotten. Was he tied outside Dogs make some kind of noise. He had to have said something ? Did he just lay down and wait until he would die... without a wimper? What is his familys story ?

This is such a sad story if you think about that precious baby being left by people that don't deserve to have an animal, but if you think about his spirit, that look in his eyes that says "I will survive!," and watch that sweet dog wag his tail, still trusting of humans even after all that he's been through, you know that he was found by special people for a reason and life looks up for him from here...I am so grateful for the GCAS and all their work and caring. Chamberlin is an example of the amazing dog species. Starved, abadoned and still wagging his tail. I wish I could meet him and love on him like he deserves.

That part at 1:05 made me cry- to see that he can't even reach the food anymore and just gives up....
The capacity for evil inflicted upon innocent animals by human beings is beyond comprehension. And still, Chamberlin wags his poor little tail, and looks into the eyes of other human beings with forgiveness and love. Thank you for giving him hope and a future.

OMG, they forgot the dog and it wasn't found until they mowed the law. They should be imprisoned and forgotten to rod but I suppose they will just get a slap on the wrist as usual, so they can go on and do the same thing all over again.

How could any human being simply forget about gorgeous Chamberlain!!!!!! Yes, I too am in tears here, and pray to God he will pull through his ordeal, with much love, vet.care and comfort I hope he will. To be able to trust again is a tribute to his faith in humans even though they let him down so badly... Good luck beautiful boy xxx

@ slyman - Obviously one cannot LITERALLY be subhuman. So I will just say these are wretched, horrid humans. And the planet has more than enough of those. I don't buy that a malevolent, cruel and neglectful human is worth more than a dog.

@TheQuickmack~people are like that because they we raised in a malevolent, cruel and neglecful child hood and had no one to love them. Maybe if you gave your loving kidness to a person in need it could help them to see that there is more to being cruel and negelctful. Its because your love is spent more on a dog rather then a person who is in more need. Spread the love to others, and see how the result of that could save countless dogs by a gradual cease in the need to neglet a helpless animal.

@slyman4u I disagree with you. I had a terrible, abusive and neglected childhood and my passion is helping animals. I love animals more than humans. My childhood didn't turn me into a treating animals cruelty it had the opposite effect. I think people are either compassionate, caring and feel for animals or they are just plain inhumane and cruel, actually evil is the word I should use.

that makes 2 of us, I never done drugs & I would never treat an animal tis way, when I was beaten, my dog was there for me, when I was abused my dog was there, when family court jumped in, my lawyer Joyce Corn was there, I was 13 years old, 30 years later I still love dogs better then humans.

animals like children are pure innocense..they only ask for love from those who take them in ( or in case of children those who give birth ). sometimes animals in many cases are more devoted/appreciative then kids but that is besides the point. NO living/breathing creature deserve such unnatural torture....treat ALL as YOU yourself would like to be treated...and the old saying is
" do unto others as they have done onto you " so turn about is fair. they abuse they should be abused.

@ slyman...yes to wish harm to those who harm animals is natural to those of us who love and care for animals..it is because humans know right from wrong, they CHOOSE to do what they do to the animals. the poor aniamls are dependant on us ( like your own children ) they do NOT ask for the horrible treatment they get. to be abused and neglected. this poor dog did not ask to be forgotten about and left to die. to be left in a field like trash. the human tht did this knew what he/she was doing.

A human has the ability to judge and apply forgiveness. Honestly, it is alright to love animals. But to be so emotionally tied to them to where you'd wish death to someone is completely mental in it's self.

Subhuman? Reality wise, there is no such thing. You are either human or not. Unless you are saying they are terminally/mentally ill and should be rid off. Shame, because that makes you sound as if you would rid the world of the the mentally ill people. That would make you the inhuman. Shot, no. Punished yes. It's very tragic to see what this dog has been through. Its great that this dig will be receiving help.Yet sometimes the animal love is set higher then that for human life. Where you'd rather a living human being be killed? A person who has other people that love them? Sad to wish someone shot...who can't be replaced.

You may not understand this, but a creature like Chamberlin was at the mercy of humans and look how his tail still wags despite how he was treated. This is the purest kind of unconditional love there is. He asks nothing, demands nothing. He is simply grateful for whatever he receives.

Kristin, write to the shelter email above if you really want to adopt him, I'm sure he won't be ready for awhile until he gets stronger but deserves a home to love him forever, still wagging that tail and I'll bet it's all the strength he has in his frail body, just heartbreaking

@PatW43 Of course he made noise but, obviously, he was ignored. He may have been owned but he certainly did not have a family and there is no way to justify this horrendous abuse and neglect. Unfortunately our lawmakers are too busy stuffing their own pockets to concern themselves with the suffering of the animals in this country.

This is such a sad story if you think about that precious baby being left by people that don't deserve to have an animal, but if you think about his spirit, that look in his eyes that says "I will survive!," and watch that sweet dog wag his tail, still trusting of humans even after all that he's been through, you know that he was found by special people for a reason and life looks up for him from here...I am so grateful for the GCAS and all their work and caring. Please update on how he is doing
