  • Love that video of Sammy as a kid.

  • wow....the racism that this man experienced is interesting to listen to.....Frank Sinatra always treated sammy fairly and always tried to help his career.

  • creepy channel 2 guys

  • I read Sammy's book years ago, but I thought it was originally titled "Yes, I Can." Anyone remember that? (Or am I just crazy)

  • DEAR GOD PLEASE GIVE US BACK SAMMY DAVIS JR IN RETURN WILL GIVE U REBECCA BLACK !!!!!!

  • These are great! Thank you for posting them.

  • This is amazing.

  • one word.

    Stunning!

  • He's Absolutely Adorable When He Was Sinqinq As A Kid .

  • The glass eye looks very realistic...On a more important matter though, Sammy gave the best explanation I ever heard about his being labeled as an "Uncle Tom" or "acting white"...People say Barack is an "Uncle Tom", but that's not true...There isn't one way to be black or white or yellow or red...People are all different and we're all shaped by our experiences and culture and we're all socialized differently, to one degree or another...It's time to put this "Oreo Cookie" label behind us.

  • @pagalley1 True dat.

Also I saw some pictures of Sammy with an eye patch before he got the glass eye and he looked pretty cool like that.

  • I forgot that Sammy was a child performer as well...His resume' as an actor, singer and comedian must read like no other star in Hollywood, before and after him...Sammy was a chain-smoker though...He has a cigarette in hand in every interview I've seen with him so far...He was definitely the Michael Jackson of the fifties...Sammy's talent was like Mount Everest...He gave a really great explanation about his individuality as a black man and the things that shaped him into becoming what he became.

  • i cant believe that they poured urine in his beer im so glad i did not live in this era.

  • HES ON POINT NOT MATTER WHEN OR WHERE

  • Mr. Sammy Davis Jr., you Sir are a KING!!!!!

  • ♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY ♫ - Sammy Davis Jr

    Would be 85 today - 8th Dec 2010!

    We miss you Sammy! ♡

  • one of the most honest, direct show appearances I've seen from any performer. I'm in my late 40's & gave up drinking 10 years ago, and like him, sometimes I do miss a hit of henessy or brandy! I miss Mr. Davis and wish we could have had him a little longer...

  • Yes, what a blessing !! Sammy Davis Jr says Michael Jackson was like a son to him and he loved him !! And Sammy says he was the Michael Jackson of the 1950's - awesome !!!! Now they are both known as the Greatest Entertainers who ever lived !!!

  • Nat King Cole died young of lung cancer from smoking and Sammy from throat cancer from smoking. If they would have eaten ice cream instead they would have both still been alive today probably doing Vegas with Harry Reed. Sammy was so eloquent and had so much class. He was a total gem of a man to have been the subject of such horrible racial hatred and emerge so beautifully without one bitter bone in his body.

  • no one should smoke cigarettes but Sam is a singer.........did he not respect his gift, what kind of singer smokes thats crazy to me

  • well when he started smoking it wasn;t known how bad for you cigaretts were. All of those entertainers smoked back then. They didn;t know the damage it caused. Most still smoke

  • @premedog Forget about what he almost single handedly done to open doors for black people in the media/entertainment. He didn't respect his gift... You utter cretin.

  • I know people who sing and they are always super sensitive about their voices, and everyone knows smoking increases the likelihood of lung cancer,Dont get me wrong I love Sammy. Now I have to look up cretin because I dont know what that means, peace be onto you

  • cretin; a stupid,or mentelly defective person.Because I`m aware of how smoking destroys all organs doesn`t make me a cretin, infact it makes me the opposite

  • @premedog You're mentally defective, so, you are a cretin.

  • This man spoke from the heart, total true!

  • ob eb ob badxD hahahha

  • wow!

  • Thank you for uploading this ive just started off acting and i wanna start my dancing again because of him R.I.P

  • goodluck!

  • I'm in my early 30s, but in my teen years the only reason I ever watched The Jerry Lewis Telethon was to see Sammy solo and with Jerry. The Telethon has not been the same since his death in 1990. He was only in his 60s at the time, and so could have still been alive today if he had received the proper medical care at the time.

  • SAMMY

  • you can tell he might have cried; his a gem

  • Man...thank you so much. This is some great stuff. If anybody wants a great read to support this video look up Alex haley's Playboy Interviews...It has great interviews with Cassius Cly/Ali, Sammy, Johnny Carson and others

  • Bravo Sam! This racism stinks don't it?

  • if only ppl would not pass that shit down to there children....its really sad. its 1 world 1 people.

  • Yep, amen to that. Thanks for your response I wrote that over a year ago, and I forgot what I said. lol! Thanks again, and God bless.

  • Parador, Parador, I luv u...

  • This was a real 'American Idol'.....the only panel of judges were the racist ones.

  • thats so true

  • man i just love sammy.
