  • who couldn't love her :D

  • oh Meryl :)

  • Did u buy this online or did u get it from like a parent

  • Comment removed

  • This is driving me crazy, can someone help please?I can't figure out what he says to her at 0:47.

  • @thewomaninthemoon

he says "your hair wants cutting", and she says something about not making personal remarks.....

  • @needabetter1one Yeah I knew what she said I just could never understand what he was saying.Thanx a lot.

  • That was strange. Not bad strange or good strange, just...strange.

  • Does the backdrop look like the setting for The Last Supper to anyone else? That's delightfully perverse, for some reason. *lol*

  • @tallybeauchchamp this production was made in the late 70's she played it when she was 29/30, she was 32 when the disc was released, but they one last show in 1981, during this she is pregnant with Henry Wolfe, Her Son.

  • Meryl was never hot.

  • I recognize the March Hare, but who's the Mad Hatter?

  • @TheouAegis The guy with the hat maybe?

  • @Banatterie I meant the actor. The March Hare was Cousin Larry in "Perfect Strangers" but I don't recognize the guy playing the Mad Hatter.

  • I love the puns of "drawing" and then they "draw". Wonderful! Meryl Streep is magnificent.

  • I think it's cute and pretty funny. Not dreadful or retarted at all... It's original. And besides, you wouldn't be as interested in it if it was the same ol' Alice in Wonderland story, now would you? I think not.

I think some of you people need to break out of your little box and enjoy originality.

  • exciting!

    could you upload [queen dance]

i can not speak english sorry

  • at first i was saying "wtf?"

but after watching the whole thing

i really like it. very cute!

  • thts not her real hair look

  • Hey, this is terrific! Never heard of this. It's really funny and fun.

  • And is that Michael Jeter as the Dormouse???

  • Yes, that is Michael Jeter. Sorry, I accidentally gave your comment a thumbs down.

  • That's okay! I gave you a thumbs up for apologizing. :-D

  • Cute!

  • 2:35 Best moment ever!!

  • I love it at the end when she's shooting them... "come on, die!" It's hilarious!!! LOVE you Meryl!

  • I love her voice ! She looks terrifing !

  • I looove this... Meryl is so AMAZING!!

  • lol I LOVE this scene!!! my friend Jason was the tea table, and Matt was the Mad Hatter when my school did a production of this!! 5/5

  • i love 3:04, actually i love the whole thing. i really want this on dvd so good. i love meryl streeps voice, and the really tiny cups HAHAHA. just love it all!!!!

    LOVE KIM.

    xxx

  • What bugs me is that it's the March Hare that "offers" Alice some wine and the Mad Hatter ask the riddle. Why did they switch that?

  • I SO want this! ♥

  • Its so funny how meryl can act so imature. In this she really does act like a 7 year old.

  • I never want to see michael jeter in ballet slippers and mouse ears again

  • ok.... is this like... alice and wonderland.....with a twist? cuz im so confused. Meryl has a beautiful voice!!!!

  • not really a twist. it has the darkness and the maturity of the original novel.

    and awesome music!

  • love it more and more every time i watch it :D

  • Lovely, amazing.

    She is simply the best!

  • i can't believe she played alice she was 32 when she did this she is great

  • yeah, maybe THE only grown up actress to portray a 7 year old convincingly!

  • The Hare seems a little Sadistic

  • haha, i´ve never seen this before.. so funny :P she sings very beautiful.. is there anything she can´t do?? wow!!!

  • haha its so fun to sing to =D

  • bows to queen meryl! and she's only singing in her first movie musical at 59!

  • she has sung in quite a few things before albeit not specific musicals, you should check them out if you haven't before, they are all great! - postcards from the edge (2songs), silkwood (1song), death becomes her (1song) and four songs in a prairie home companion plus a few wee bits and a couple random songs gartans lullabye, nobody understands me and the wonderful world collaboration

  • yep, i've watched all those movies.... loved her in postcards and silkwood.....actually i love her in all her movies!

yeah, i have listened to those random meryl songs too...hehe..

  • i loved it!

meryl streep is freakin amaaazing at everything she does

    & boy can she singggggg

  • I like this version. The Mad Hatter makes me smile in this... Though is there any reason why they just decided to develop a southern twang half way through the song?

  • The southern accent was because the Door Mouse was telling a story, and he needed to use it to correctly tell his story, because I'm sure the characters in his story normally had the accent. Yeah, I hope that makes sense.

Oh, and Meryl is just way too amazing and adoreable for words, just like usual. No wonder I love her so much.

  • wauw , i think it's verry beautiful , man ..That MEryl can sing!!!..it's not so easy..to do all this together so beautiful..thank you a lot for uploading this!

  • I didn't know Mark Linn Baker was on this version of "Alice in Wonderland"! How pleasantly surprising! Well...I'm not that surprised since I went to see his list of performances throughout his career on IMDB...

But still quite thrilled to see him...

  • OMG! I'm reading the book "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" and the words are like exactly teh same!

  • I hate it when the sentences are just fit onto the melody without actually making it sound like a song.. not a big fan of this version of alice at all...

  • Whoops, sorry NathanLaneObsesser, I accidently deleted your comment while I was replying to it. That's Richard Cox as the Mad Hatter; he's got a page on the Internet Movie Database. I'm not familiar with any of his other roles, but apparently he won a Tony for appearing in a musical called "Platinum."

  • No problem. I don't think I know who he is...I'll have to look him up. I haven't seen this version yet, but after watching this clip, I really want to see it!

  • reminds me of pippin.

  • I love how it's so random. :)

  • So how come nobody comments on the CREATOR of this? The composer Elizabeth Swados?

  • the soup ones called beautiful soup

  • alice is awsome andi love the fact that they have a guy wearing toe shoes (not very common)

  • haha, so crazy & funny :D I neeeed that DVD...

  • Rodney Hudson rules!!!!

  • WOW!! i've never seen this before..thank you.btw,i think she was 32 on this show.

  • she's amazing. Thanks so much for uploading!
