i dont want to try to live 'in the wild" on a bus, but if i did you bet your ass id learn how to hunt, preserve meats, read a map and compass, and fish ... starving to death in the wilderness does not make you a hero ..
CHRIS MCCANDLESS IS NO ONE TO LOOK UP TO. OR TO ADMIRE. THATS MOVIE BULLSHIT. CHRIS WAS A CONFUSED AND FUCKED UP PERSON. HE WANTED TO BE ALONE AND DIE ALONE. ITS THAT SIMPLE.
@soURfunnyYOUthink Well, 'back then' we had already manged to visit the moon a few times, so yeah 'Time cameras' were not exactly science fiction mate... ;)
@rohannaik92 Oh-oh, was´nt that your day!! Crying and all!! He was stupid and certainly NO hero at all!. Hero for what?? Sorry he died, but it was all down to him-selve. Thats it. The movie is fine, the story is sweet - and you cried - oh-oh..... so that is it! Just another movie! No, sorry - you just HAVE to follow his track!! - Sorry - I forgot - you just Have to!! He was such a great guy!! Ehh- what was it he did??
@Pukkie11000 He LIVED. A word that we misapreciatte, and he lived following his true harmless will to be FREE. Thats what he did, and he should be respected for that. (he could have told his family at least and not escape...)
I applaud your fine video depicting this hero of humanity I just days ago bought the into the wild book and have allready watched the movie so I can appreciate this video
@tybraaten dude i just saw the movie and if the way of his death is true the this sucks.... it's like surviving a war and then when there is peace and for example you trip and while you fall something sharp stabs you and kill you. I would have loved meeting the guy :'( Rip Chris
Chris McCandless, sadly, was neither "living off the land" nor "in the wild." He was in an abandoned motor vehicle less than 30 miles from a major national park. He was playing at camping in the backyard, and the self-delusion cost him his life. The ultimate irony is that, less than half a mile downstream, there was a USGS gauging station where he could have easily crossed the river. So, yes, let us take a lesson from Chris and try to live life fully. But let's also bring a compass and a map.
@Rubella1213 if you read the book, you will know he had a map, which didnt show the USGS, it wasnt there.. people adore him for daring to be alone for so much time while having a rich family, university degree, friends, everything. being completely alone in such unforgiving conditions and just in the age of 23, with no experience of living in the wild, Alone. you try that, take a map, take a gps, take a compass, and lets see you hold on in that bus for 1 month, not 4. everyone's a keyboard-hero.
i just watched the film never seen it before did not know what it was about but i was shocked at the end if he could of survived 2 more weeks the moose hunters would of found him

Thank you for this video! I've just watched the movie, didn't know the story and yet I'm very moved...
My favorite quote from the movie is (as I remember it): "Happiness is only true when shared". It makes you think...
Thanks again.

Pero qué patética que fue su muerte! Muy ingenuo este McCandless.

@FuckingYouth His death was pathetic at all. He died by mistake. However he lived, and that's what makes his story special
