  • Andy Kaufman = The godfather of TROLL!

    XD

  • lol, this is hilarious.

  • Like how the cane broke at 1:24

  • lol pencil neck geek! Classy Freddie was a class act! I miss the old days of the WWF!

  • That's the most awesome clip I've seen in a long time. WAAAY BETTER than the 4th round of the Mayweather-Ortiz fight.

  • The ORIGINAL TROLL..

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • No Paul Schaffer?

  • Brilliant hilarious comedian. What a loss!

  • all hail the troll allfather

  • God bless you, Andy Kaufman. I hope you're still alive

  • I miss both Andy and the Hollywood fashionplate.

  • Everything Andy did is so funny...he definitely takes advantage of being in front of the camera.

  • @squidcel..no they weren't "in" on it..he didn't wanna sing, so he got out there and did that, and he thought it was hysterical.."They" didn't even get it...THAT"S What's so funny! That is Andy for you, and that is why so many people love him, and others just don't get him....

  • AHHHH AHHHHH HIS TONGUE AT 2:42 HOLY SHIT HES AN ALIEN

  • you didn't do your best! hahaha!

  • I can definitely see where Tim and Eric got their inspiration.

  • Should have had Tony Clifton sing it ! LOL

  • Blassie's expression: PRICELESS.

  • Kaufman was an angel of my generation, taken from us all too soon.

  • Every time it gets to :41 it locks up

  • They were all in on it back then just like today. Its a script.

  • I love this! Blassie and Kaufman are a great combination. Such a great put on.

  • this guy is dumb

  • @virongas408 Which one?

  • Fred Blassie is the best!

  • This somehow brings smile to my face...somehow~~~ in a very very strange way...RIP

  • when letterman says it's the stupidest thing he's ever seen andy laughs with us for a second

  • Hahahahahaha this is fucking hilarious! I love Andy Kaufman! Coolest guy ever!

  • Seemed like when Dave said "That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life" it was his way of telling the people it's ok to laugh at Andy.

  • Noticed Andy smiling when Dave said, it's the stupidest he have ever seen? Kaufman was really enjoying what he did.

  • probably the funniest thing that's ever been on tv. this is too brilliant to only have 86000 views. this truly should be a featured video.

i want to watch this every morning.

  • Wow. Do Americans find this funny? OK let me spell this one out for you. Are you ready? Really really ready? OK then the first letter is a Y. Are you ready for the net letter? OK the next letter is an E. Now I'm gonna give you the last letter ready or not. The last letter is an S. OK Y.E.S. . What does it spell? Yes! Very good! I knew you were smart!

  • lol - I was right w/ you until your very last sentence. I can certainly debate that one! ;)

  • Wow. Do Americans find this funny?

  • @gazwel83 i take it your not familiar with the work of andy kaufman

  • @ikobard Yah I know what you mean. You have to really understand Andy Kaufman to know what he was getting @. Personally I think Andy was a genius period.

  • @gazwel83 Some of us find it funny. Some find it interesting. Some of us don't like it. I happen to get a kick out of it. But, I also get a kick out of NON Americans "wasting their precious" time commenting on videos & dead performers (who are no longer here to speak for themselves) w/ statements like, "Wow. Do Americans find this funny?" Trust me. There are certainly things from your planet that are certainly "suspect" to Americans - like visiting this thread, for example. Get out of here-lol.

  • @gazwel83 i think third world countries like yours are funny lol

  • Hahahahahahahahaha! OMG hahahahahahaha!.....isn't surreal humor just the best!?

  • just like how parents push their kids. this is the result of those particular efforts.PERFECTO!

  • @10menonachest I agree with you to some extent OK. Andy was like what you said PERFECTO! But Andy's parrents Janis & Stanley Kaufman never pushed thier kids ever. They were very supportive of Andy & his dream of entertaining people. I'm not trying to be rude. I just thought you should know.

  • That`s what he gets for forcing him to sing!

Love you Andy; This was cute, disturbing, stupid and BEAUTIFUL!

    Cutest laugh in history. (:

  • Andy Kaufman genije.

  • omg this guy whas the best ever

  • This was the stupidest most funniest thing I've ever seen. Andy was brilliant. He was a very, very funny man. I absolutly love Andy Kaufman!!! He will never be forgotton.

  • @defleppardgirl1974 uh yeah...pure GENIUS, he should take the audience out for milk and cookie,too...oh yeah.... wait...he DID..How cutting edge.

  • @dumbbina Yeah that was SOOO COOL! & He also did a show on the Staten Island Ferry for the Carnegie Hall audience the next day also. COOL HUH?

  • Let`s hope he`s never forgotten!

  • @BigCarreyKauffmanFan I hope not. I'm a HUGE Andy Kaufman fan

  • who let this dog out?????

  • That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life------- and I LOVED IT!

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 hes awesome. He probably boned your mom back in the 70's.

  • No, LOLDISNEYLAND....it was your dad he was boning.

  • andy, one of the best ever!

  • @superusop Andy was an AWSOME DUDE!!!

  • fuck! i can't stop laughing, why does no-one there find that funny?

  • @siouxzanne84 It is funny and the funny thing is that he is good enough that he could of nailed Jambalya. He was playing to Freddy and Dave.

  • @siouxzanne84 Why would they find the fact that you can't stop laughing funny?

  • @siouxzanne84 Well - It wasn't that they had paid good money for their seats =='cos you don't pay to be in the audience///

  • @siouxzanne84

    Same here. I'm crying.

  • @siouxzanne84 because he wasn't the least bit funny.

  • He invented WWE.

    From WWF not Vince :)

  • classic! I pissed myself.

  • wow letterman back when he was funny

  • X-D X-D X-D What the fuck is going on here? LMAO

  • Ease off the ch4t5p3ak lmao. STFU and FTFO

  • LOL at the expression on Dave's face at 0:31 as Blassie reels off the names of wrestlers he manages

  • 1:48 is even better

  • Blassie mentioned the guy with the "chili dipper". What's does that mean?

    What's a "chili dipper"?

  • "you didn't do your best."

  • Hank Kaufman

  • That's the point of him though.

  • he obviously worked his magic on ya then...greatest comedic genius ever...bar none

  • Andy was one of the best.. And was an amazing singer. People were always shocked when he started actually singing. Man had some vocal cords on him.......

  • YOU PENCIL NECKED GEEKS

  • YOU DICKWOOD

  • @YouDickwod HA HA HA!!! I love that saying from Freddy Blassie

  • Comment removed

  • I believe he legitimately lost it there and then incorporated it into the act.

  • 2:35 agreed

  • HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

  • andy kaufman is dead :(

but he is the #1 most likely celebrity to fake death

  • his spirit is still alive and kicking

  • @Amiraclesotrueinc Very true. But he may still be alive. You may have bumped into him & didn't even know it. He was that good @ disguising himself. I myself am hoping he's still alive. I love Andy Kaufman!!!

  • I'd STILL like to hear Andy record some other classic covers!

Just on Letterman we've had THIS and who could forget "Rosemarie" that Slim Whitman fave?

What other tunes might Andy record if it should be possible/likely/do-able?

  • hehe...great!

  • This from the Emmy winning "The David Letterman Show" shown in the mornings in 1980.

  • This is not from the morning show. This was Late Night With David Letterman. This was from 82 or 83. Whoever told you this was his morning show, lied to you.

  • @klwewf you're right about that. It was the night show. But Andy has been on the morning show also.

  • I would have wanted to know Andy...

  • One of the funniest things I have ever seen, brilliant, Andy Kaufman is brilliant, being quite a young man I'm inspired purely by the fact innovators like him have lived, REALLY lived, you know?

  • @PrideLustandEnvy

    Stay off the weed.

  • @PrideLustandEnvy Oh I totally agree. Andy lived his dream & he lived his life to the fullest.

  • @PrideLustandEnvy why is this funny? is it ironic? is he being stupid on purpose?

  • @elmstreet777 Yes. The humor lies not in what he's doing but in the reaction it inspires in others, the confusion. Kind of mean spirited.

  • No, it's pure fun!

  • lol

  • what a laugh

  • oh, if only, if only American Idol had been around then, especially before people knew who Andy was.

  • that would have ruined andy. he would have all the wrong fans

  • i was thinking more along the lines of "maybe Andy could have ruined American Idol." oh, what i'd give to see that, oh, what i'd give to see that! (Andy and Simon Cowell--just imagine.)

  • me too, ME TOO, Me tooooooo. andy could have ruined, RUINED, american idol, american idol.

  • Comment removed

  • God , I love Andy.

  • @JackGills Yah me too. Andy Kaufman was the funniest man to never tell a joke in his life. He was was a beautiful beautiful man.

  • andy was in control of every situation you've ever seen him in. the joke was always on all of you.

  • @whatthehellbrosef That is very very true. Andy was that smart. Who knows maybe he faked his death. If that's true that joke is on us too. The biggest joke ever. But no matter what I will always love him. I'm a HUGE!!! Andy Kaufman fan. I will always & forever be his fan no matter what.

  • He was a whack job, no doubt.

  • @Tallmark1 He may have seemed like a whack job on stage. But in real life Andy was just a regular person living a regular life. He even worked as a busboy @ The Posh Bagel until that closed & He worked @ Jerry's Famous Deli while being famous @ the same time. So I really don't think Andy was a whack job. He was acting like 1.

  • grande Andy..!!

  • ENCORE!!!

  • That's why they called him Classy Freddie Blassie ROFL

  • you pencil neck geeks

  • I love it ! his facial expressions as always are priceless, playing the stupid kid excited to sing in this one.

  • @wordsareweapons90 Yah me too. What a funny funny guy.

  • andy can sing like Elvis P

  • @ZodiacBryan Yes he can. I love Andy's Elvis impersonation.

  • I love Andy

  • 1:53 omg i've never seen such a dissapointed face lol btw this is the best song EVER!!

  • I watched another video on YouTube, and he really CAN sing. It makes me laugh just to know that he was dicking with the big old guy on this one.

  • Andy Kaufman is Barak Obama...or 2PAC

  • I have to say this is actually the funniest thing I've ever seen. For some reason watching Andy in this clip makes me laugh uncontrollably!

  • @rog944 Yah me too. Andy was always a very funny guy.

  • GAH!!!! he always looks like he needs a hug! and i wanna give it to m

  • If we can FIND him we CAN!

  • @JahalomSjachor I wanna give Andy a big HUGE!!! bear hug. I love him.

  • ''That was the stupidest thing I've ever seen'' made me cry with laughter. The performance itself was fucking genius, but that line tipped me over the edge..

  • A lot of people agree with you, and that's why ashlee and britney are rich. You don't get true performance art you shallow moron.

  • Yes, how dare anyone stray from what is common and popular!

  • Bravo! Why would someone with such a low opinion of Andy even come here in the first place?

  • your all saying he's in the majority.. look at his rating.

  • look at the view count of this video

  • 31,000 people searched andy kaufman. more than most major label bands.

  • but you're comparison is misleading. You have you compare it to the rest of the youtube videos. He wouldn't be considered common or popular. Plus, I've probably seen the video 15,000 times myself, so again, its misleading.

Of course that guys rating is going to be low though when he says shit about the guy the video is about.

  • your so interested in thinking your unique.

get over it, your a statistic, just like everyone else.

  • haha, I don't know how you got that from my comment but okay, whatever you say.

My point is, andy kaufman is not so well-known. And I'll leave it at that.

  • so, your wrong about that. 30,000 views..

  • @Labaron26 Well then you don't know Andy that well then now do you. You've never actually seen the genius that was Andy Kaufman. Seeing what you wrote about Andy just proves he was smarter that you will ever be.

  • I'm BEYOND perplexed as to why someone would thumbs down my two innocuous comments but I guess that it takes all kinds and that there IS much sadness during holidays unfortunately.

  • people are dumb just brush it off.

  • Thanks, it turns out it was just some crazy lady who got offended by my saying that Andy COULD have faked his death.

  • Strange factoid, Andy Kaufman,Tony Clifton, and Elvis Presley ALL sang Jambalaya. All three are favorites of mine, and they were ALL connected.

  • LOL Hilarious

  • The woman sitting to Andy's right(Our left) was a previous guest that Letterman asked to stay when Andy and Freddie Blassie came out.

  • The lady who was sitting next to Andy was a lady who Letterman picked out of the back of the theatre to get a better view of the show..

  • you didnt do your best...

kinda like tim and erics "you blew it"

  • Comment removed

  • oh, shut up.

  • sorry this was supposed to be a reply on someone elses comment. don't know why it didnt show up THERE!

  • Blassie looks like both an old man and an old woman.

  • letterman wasn't amused

  • letterman's a moron

  • Dave may have been a moron, but he has come a long way since then....

  • Why is he a moron??? For constantly inviting Andy Kaufman back to his before & AFTER this appearance? Or maybe for admiring Andy (as we ALL should) & what he did for his show. I love how certain people yell out moron.

  • @klwewf Andy was the best.

  • @defleppardgirl1974 Indeed.

  • Is that Andy's mother there next to him?

  • Comment removed

  • @klwewf no it's not.

  • @defleppardgirl1974 I know that now. I found that out soon after the comment I made.

  • @klwewf Cool

  • What the hell is a chili dipper?

  • @vslyke I think it's an Adam's apple. But I'm not sure. I think it makes sense.

  • "you didnt do your best"

    aaaah....hahahaaahahahaaaaaah!

  • Haha he did what I would do if I didn't wanna sing, I'd sing really badly too.

People like him never die cause we will always remember him. His body may be gone, but his spirit and soul live through us all & that means he'll live forever.

  • Kaufman had a genious for the talents of other people - Blassie is probably the best straight man I've ever seen in my life.

That clip felt like there suddenly a division in the fabric of the universe: adult vs. child.

There's real emotion in Kaufman's best work (what I've seen). Wow.

    I can't get over it.

Thank you so very much SillyCrazyInsane.

  • good

  • What does that mean "the best straight man"? 'Cause I read something about a woman who used to work with andy as "a straight woman". So where does that phrase come from and what does it mean? Does it have something to do with wrestling?

  • Straight guy would be the guy that helps him set the jokes, but never laughs. I'm guessing here...

  • Yeah in comedy you always have the comedian and the straight guy, that way the comedian seems funnier. Think of the "Who is on first" routine, you have the funny guy giving the answers and the straight man asking them.

  • I love Andy
