I've made these now twice. They are fantastic but be sure to have water on hand as the carob and. Cocoa make you very thirsty! Other than than they are delicious!
I just made this. It's excellent, not to mention very easy to put together.
To those of you who feel the need to complain about honey or the coconut oil, STFU. No one wants to be neurotic and unhappy like you. The occasional raw gourmet dessert with an arguably non-vegan ingredient and some vegan fat...geez, who cares?
First of all don't make absolute statements; coconut oil is good for you. It can help to stimulate the thyroid gland, it lubricates your organs, bypasses processing by the liver and instead goes straight to your blood as a source of energy, and is an excellent moisturizer for your skin and hair. Second of all I get really sick of people basing their opinion on something, when they have no knowledge of it and instead relying on some a-hole doctor. That doctor could and is probably i
@barbcomm Coconut oil can solidify or liquefy depending on your climate. Here in Florida, my coconut oil is usually a liquid year-round, but in the winter it turns solid in the jar. You can easily "melt" it without losing any of its nutritional value by placing its container in a pan of warm water. It liquefies pretty quickly for use in recipes! :)
@informationwarfare well the Eat Right for Your Blood Type doctor has studied it's effect on your blood after you eat it and it's not good for any blood type. sorry, but just because something may have something good in it doesn't mean all around it is good for you.
Natasha, thank you so much for this recipe and video!! You saved me during my first week of eating raw. I was craving chocolate. I made these tonight and oh my gosh; these are out of this world amazing. I had to sub a few things, like I didn't have carob, but doubled cacao and didn't have spirulina. Thank you!
Just made these! Mmmmmmmm Yummmmm! i had added some coconut sap, and cinnamon for extra sweet...(didn't have enough honey) they are the best !!! Love your recipes Natasha!!!
I'd suggest you eliminate the cashews and substitute with walnuts or macadamia nuts. According to Dr. Cousens and Dr. Robert Young, cashews are mycotoxic and should not be consumed. I've parted with them not too long ago.
Just made these. The coconut oil I used was a semi-solid, my honey was more liquid than the video shows but all worked out. Mixture appeared crumbly after processing but came together very easily when I made the small balls. Very Yummy
BTW - Vegans could sub Blue Agave for the honey...

Lol...I posted that on another new age raw foodist page from matt monarch or whoever and got like 10 thumbs down for love jesus comment and got blocked for talking about judgement...so sad so many people heading to hell...
That looks fantastic! I tried making dessert balls before- but the mixture stuck to my hands so much while I was trying to roll them. I didn't use coconut oil though. Is that the ingredient that keeps it from sticking?
Spirulina is not a "super food" ..you should research it side effects.

Thanks.

Hello Natasha! Are there any substitutes for the honey that you recommend? I'm the vegan that doesn't eat it :p
chibibrusselsprout5 1 year ago
@chibibrusselsprout5 Perhaps some sort of butter (non dairy like coconut butter). You might like to sweeten it a bit though.
TheLoserKingdom 1 year ago
@chibibrusselsprout5 use agave nectar:) also there's a coconut nectar out but i have never tried it
