OMG; what rock have I been living under?. I have just discovered her and am blown away! Thank you for this beautiful video. Where were the slides shot?
I'm not sure Mary had an equal in the music business. Her voice is magnificent and one of a kind. Thank you so much for posting this magnificent song.
I used to listen to her work on KWAV radio when I lived in Monterey, Calif., many years ago. Does anyone have a copy of her version of "Things We Said Today"?
The last time I saw Mary McCaslin she was play`n @ her Cath. Church W/ a little Martin 00-17 I think....it was "Beautiful,beautiful Brown eye`s" I think??
What a lovely suprise, when i stumbled upon this. I found Mary's name on a post it and found this. She has a very clear and strong voice . Pure & melodic. Thanks 4 sharing. Really enjoyed it. x
I've been listening to these songs since I was literally an infant. This song is one that my roommates at music school knew to put on if I was ever horribly sick or despondent. Thanks Mary, your songs mean a lot.
i met Mary in San Diego 1974 at the San Diego Blue Grass Festival. SHe cut her first album around then. I enjoyed her song Young Westley, one for many years I'd hum to myself. Long distant memories of friends long gone.
A beautiful song. I heard it on the radio while driving through the Green Mountains in Vermont on a beautiful summer day back in the '90s-- not exactly prairie country, but it fit the mood perfectly, and I went out and bought the album as soon as I got home.
This lady is one of a kind. Talent? Forget about it. While all these other dim witted talentless so and so's come and go, Mary M. and a very few others will always shine on.
Used to watch Mary and Jim Rnger play the old Catalyst bar in S'Cruz for tips- Great combo. One song of hers I haven't been able to locate on YTube is 'California Zephyr,' one of her very best IMO. Anyone have an idea if it's here?
I think Ms. McCaslin is terrific. I wish someone would make videos of 'Strawberry Roan', which is actually a great motorcycle song, and 'The Bramble And The Rose' with Jim Ringer. I wore out two vinyl copies of that one.
i used to play carmen sandiego and heard one of her awesome songs, then came across this other awesome song.. beautiful music

On my top 10 list of Greatest Songs Ever Written! Way Out West and Prairie in the Sky should also be enjoyed as albums though.

LOVE THIS SONG. A DIS JOKEY PLAYED IT ON THE RADIO. SHE DIED. AND STILL REMEMBER THE DAY SHE INTRODUCED TO ME.

@MrVampiredog
We Assume you meant the Disc Jockey died as Mary is still alive and well performing as she has done for the past 40 years
garrufat 1 year ago
@garrufat I was refering to the disjockey who died, not Mary.

@MrVampiredog Wouldn't be too far out on a limb to think you are talking about Laura Ellen Hopper, of KPIG in Santa Cruz, CA.
Laura or LE .. pioneered one of the greatest radio stations in the US, if not the world.
No better radio, no better person ...May Laura Ellen rest in peace
I thank her for introducing me to Mary McCaslin.

Isn't this a copyright violation? Using her music to your slides? Youtube has removed all of my slideshows with someone elses music....

Why the hell is Mary not more widely recognized? She was (is) one of the absolute best, so there.
