  • Imagine if they did a remake of this game

  • Lol at the crazyed cooker death. At the death screen I was like.

"Okay, a jar of soup? What, are they having dinner together and she cut her because she had something on her- GAH!"

  • I was SO disappointed the first time I played this.

I honestly thought I would get to play Elvira!!

  • My favorite game when i was a child!!!! 16:24 the best scene!!!!! Lovely memories with Amiga 500!!

  • You are a god amongst mere gamers.

  • I remember this one. Creeped me the fuck out....

  • -== ONLY AMiGA MAKES iT POSSiBLE - ONLY AMiGA MAKE iT HAPPEN ==-

  • i love the droning music in this, but then again i am a fan of ambient, noise and industrial doom so that is obvious

  • By the way, there are two deaths that lemm has missed.

In case you're curious, here's what you do:

    1. Take the crown and try to leave with it. The player will be buried under boulders.

    2. Let the rock-wielding creature kill you after it's arm has been chopped off. It'll show the player being beaten to death with a femur!

You can also lose by letting your STR stat fall to zero (falling alseep on the job) and screwing up game-advancing potions such as the Growing Pride.

  • Whoever this lemm guy is, he kicked this game's ass to the curb. He only used the three necessary spells to beat the game. He didn't even need the Wooden Heart Spell to restore his life. He's a real top-notch player.

Also, thank you and lemm for including the death scenes for the game. I've been looking forever for those!

  • Great music. Would deserve dubstep remix !

  • I used to play this thing a lot when it came out. I was about twelve back then, now I wonder whether my parents weren't a bit careless letting me play that game with all the death scenes and mauled corpses lying around. Hmmm....

Anyways, regarding this longplay, I didn't understand why at some point in the game you dropped the bible and some ingredients before entering the main building. What was the reason for doing that?

  • @SyncMaster2433 I'm not 100% sure on this as I never played the first game, but in the sequel there was a limit of items you could carry so the typical thing to do was to leave stuff you didn't immediately need at a place you would transit frequently. Perhaps it's the same thing here.

  • is this like shadowgate?

  • PROBABLY THE BEST RPG EVER,NOTHING GETS MORE ATMOSPHERE THAN THIS.WHEN GAMES WERE FUN.

  • for some reason i find the courtyard music really catchy... in a good way

  • So awesome to be able to watch the complete game. I was never able to pass too much of this game when i was 10, a lot of the puzzles are very random. I would never in 100 years think to look in the moat on the body of the dead soldier. Awesome playthru thanks for this!

  • My only complaint is the incounter platform. It just too easy to win.

  • I bought the re-released versions of these from AdventureSoft and the damn things have the lame PC version music, have been bummed about that for like six years now...

  • every time I skip through the video i always land on the scene when a guy is about to die

  • the droney music throughout is pretty unsettling

  • i loved this game but as far as I was concerned it was Impossible.

  • I didn't finish this game. I could not kill the wolfman. Back then (1994 or so) there was NO internet. Now it's easy, two clicks and you have all you want: tips, cheats ;)

  • I thing the fightings was far harder on the Atari version

  • The music in the Amiga version is ASTOUNDINGLY good!

  • Is this supposed to be 'music'?????

  • @CarNikolaj This game is old as hell...you can't expect cutting edge sound.

  • Besides, the music at 10:52 isn't too bad.

  • @huaxiong90 Oh of course not...I was comparing it to the music of the PC version of Elvira, which is still haunting me to this day (I am also "old as hell") ;-) I was just dissapointed when I didn't find it here.

  • @CarNikolaj I see...never heard the PC version...

Waxworks is the opposite way around, though.

  • Are you sure you don't want to play again ? :P

  • I loved this game, but could never find a certain flower for one of the spells, so could never complete it.

Love the music,, its so creepy :D

  • 5:38 That is odd way of saying that someone is ugly.

  • Why did he stab that vampire lady between the breasts anyway? Shouldn't he aim for the heart?

  • @legion999

    Maybe he was distracted!

  • @legion999 Oh ow, she was faking it then :)

  • @legion999 isn't that where the heart is?

  • @legion999 Have you ever seen Elvira? Its based on sexual inuendo... lol

  • @mascot1063 Man, there's no innuendo in puncturing someone's sternum

  • @legion999 He did. The heart is actually dead in the center of your chest, angled slightly to the left. :P

  • Thanks for posting. Brought back memories

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!

The whole day i was infront of my AMIGa and Waxworks...

    the best game ever

    Love AMIGA

    :)

  • Love the death scenes at the end :) I especially remember the cooking bitch with the cleaver grrr... Love how she boild my head in the stew haha talk about graphic death scenes :)

  • really annoying that music ..

  • I remember my big brother played this, probably around 1990. it scared the crap out of me. I still remember that blind dude's face as clear as day :P

  • Will you do a Amiga Longplay of Elvira Arcade soon please? We would love to see that one. Thanks dude.

  • lol @ 1:56.. just looping back and forth through the same 5 or so frames

  • lol stick the stake between her tits so thats how slay a female vampire.

  • ending is around 1:03 for those that are looking for it...

  • Death scenes used to scare the shit out of me... But I'd go through all that crap for those boobies at the end!

  • 28:56-29:20 Pwnage

  • I think you missed the death scene where trying to remove the crown from the room causes the ceiling to cave in and crush you to death.

  • Thanks for the playthrough. Was only 13 when I played this game but could never figure out the end!

  • my first action adventure.....crying

  • Whao!!! What happened to that guy at 0:12:21.

  • Seems like a good game, although the music get's annoying pretty soon, even though it fits to the atmothspere.

  • Wooow, the early 90's was a beautiful time for dungeon crawlers. I also lack the ability to play this game my imagination has been seeped away with these new fangled games. I thank you guys for posting this :D

  • You forgot some death scenes, like the one where you don't do the crown puzzle right and get the ceiling dropped on you.

  • I realy liked this game but i didnt get to play it much because i lent it to a friend and he somehow managed to break disk 1, i wasnt realy that pissed off about that because i knew that it could easily be copied again...no i mean, bought again yeah thats it bought again, just get blank disks... no i mean factory produced official disks of the game.got to go now

  • 1:07 His face

  • i bet elvira can make some kick ass stew

  • i played waxworks before and i think that game gave me hell when i was a kid...

  • @chantimothy True. I played Elvira 1 and Waxworks when I was 13 :) Waxworks was far better. I was scared as well, and couldnt sleep at nights.. LOL But even after all those years, these are great games!

  • What happened in the last one? Did she turn you into the Joker?

  • @Kuraisamu She drank your life force like a soda...

  • Being a girl, I found some of the dialogue in the game really funny while playing.

For example, when Elvira first made her appearance she says at one point: "You're lucky he didn't tie your weeny in a granny knot." And I can't help but reply back, "Sucks for him!"

  • I remember playing this on my amiga :D

The blind guard at the beginning was quite freaky. Oh and the kitchen deathscene is awesome :D

  • I love the game's electronic-rock soundtrack. Adds to the atmosphere. Perhaps I'm just getting old, but these classic games are truly the best. I remember playing this game when I was just kid, and still I have a fondness for it. I miss the days when games were an art form rather than just mindless entertainment. Thanks! P.S. The Amiga was the best!

  • Wonderful nostalgia trip :p

  • This game is the reason I have a computer. Years ago I saw this game advertised, bought it and then went out and bought a computer based on the specs on the side of the box. Elvira brought me into the computer age!!!

  • Sadly enough, 2 years ago I was looking for death scenes to this game after seeing the ones from waxworks, i kept coming across this vid and assumed that this was only a full playthrough. Now that I decided to watch this vid completely and i feel dumb for not realizing that they were in THIS vid.

  • Elvira is the only actress I respect

  • where can you get this game? I used to have it on amiga 500 but I dont know where to get it now

  • Do you hear that after the message of "follow your misstress and collect your just reward" you can hearElvira saying "Get out of here!"?

I think our hero as been cheated on -.-

  • 1:04:30 she haz tits!

  • @Metalsonic2008 she sure does :p

  • Lowlz

  • Elvira is a great adventure game along with its sequel. Back when the first one came out, I remember I wasn't into adventure games and probably would've missed this one if my bro hadn't told me to get it. I'm glad he did.

Although I still need to play WaxWorks.

  • >>0:48:45

note: If you use the stone as a weapon, it raises your skill level more than the sword does.

  • You missed a death scene. If you try to steal the crown from the chamber under the church, the ceiling caves in and crushes you to death.

  • Someone know how to beat the C64 Version? I searched a long time for Emelda... can't find her in the catacombs.

I also never find: Horsehair, Dragonblood, Manticor Hide and no Spidersilk to mix Spells.

Nice Game indead, loved it when I was a child :)

  • Are you ever going to do "A Persnoal Nightmare"? It's the only Horrorsoft game you haven't longplayed yet!

  • Oops, guess the death scenes are at the end. :)

  • What he doesn't really show are all the cool death scenes when you die in different ways. Great vid, great game!

  • Best version of the game, the music here kicked the PC version's @ss!!

  • this game is just creepy as hell!

  • Great game and geniunely creepy.

I only managed to finish it back in 1991 when IO bought a small booklet with a walkthrough (no internet back then).

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Me too. Such things from the past, that You don't actually remember, but They're somewhere hidden in the memory might be the cause of nightmares.

Such a 2D thing might be more scary than any modern horror.

  • "Elvira is calling your name, could this be your lucky day?" LOL genious. I could never see the end of this game, I got stuck somewhere after hours and hours of gameplay. Thanks for uploading. I miss those days :_

  • For some reasons, I can't help but find killing Emelda at the end funny. Ok, her turning creepy and again is nightmare fule, but nudging the dagger between her breasts negate it. XD

  • this whole game is fuckin' awesome ...i used to play it when i was 13,,the sound expecially is fuckin creepy !!

One of the scariest games EVER

  • i first played this when i was thirteen and it gave me nightmares lol i dont like it when the baddys get hit they sound like they re sneezing

  • wow, great upload, great game and great memories, a fascinating game

  • I played this when it firsy came out on the Amiga and the whole game blew me away. The music is awesome and there are moments in the game that scared the crap out of me. Great game and thanks for putting up.

  • Great video! Mistress Dolly

  • Too bad you don't get to see the reward...

  • lol, stick a dagger between her tits, thats how you slay a demon witch.

  • AWESOME! And music is so MUCH better than on PC version. Beautiful!

  • The deaths that REALY freaked me out are 1:06:06, 1:06:47, 1:07:36 and 1:07:50

  • I love to see the video of classic adventure games like this! Thank you!

  • Well done my friend. you are a good player ! I watched the whole movie and it's the first time I could see someone finish that game at last !!!!

  • my all time fave for amiga :-)

  • Oh, love the Amiga... This is a pretty crappy game as Amiga games go... but I looked for it forever. BTW, how the hell did you post over an hour to YouTube?

  • Read the channel FAQ :)

  • how do you get the spirt of the torturer to come?

  • amazing game, love the replays btw do you have them available for download somewhere perhaps? :)

  • You probably didnt read the video info nor the FAQ ;)

  • One of the best games EVER!!!

  • Sure it is, for people who prefer worse music and GFX ;)

  • Hardly. The music is crap compared to the chilling ambience of the original. The graphics aren't that good either.

I think they should drag the Elvira Amiga game style to modern days. They can't do still picture gaming anymore, but I think it would work well as an FPS too. Clive Barker's Undying was in that direction, but it was way too action-oriented.

  • Youre mistaken, the Amiga version was the original and the DOS version the port, but that doesnt really matter. Each version is good ;)

  • That's what I meant. I was replying to LeonWgner. Which means I was agreeing with you :)

  • Oh i see, your message was below my answer, so it wasnt obvious ;)

  • No I originally had this game on the Amiga in 1991 so I expected the DOS version to be crap like 'Personal Nightmare'... I got this game in 1994 on DOS and was surprised the graphics are 256 colour VGA which is rare for a dos 1990 game and the roland sound is beautiful the music is better than the amiga.

Echt lange her :-)

EMELDA IS DEAD!

  • Was? Oh!

  • i cant keep my eyes from those knockers!

  • What did you fail to do to get the death scene when that ghost pulled you into the chest? Was it if you didn't put back the skeleton?

Also I was being pomous saying to myself "oh he didn't pick up the tongs in the torture chamber, what an idiot" then with the death scene at the end I kind of ate my words.

I missed this game with my amiga, I bet I more likely missed most of the good games in this style.

  • You can kind of get round that by bagging the tongs (though don't try to use them or you get pwned by the spirit of the torturer). This is useful for avoiding more tiresome fights with skeletons by having to go back into the dungeons.

  • @RagnarokiaNG You need to use the keys in the right order: Primus, secondus, tertius, quartum, quintum, sextum, and septum. Otherwise....

  • einfach nur geil ..... !!!!!

  • I spent way too many hours on this game but never got very far. Thanks for posting.

  • the music in this game was sooo friggin cool

  • You can probably download it at ww amigamusic com

  • Aww, you missed the death where the gray catacomb beast kills you after chopping off the hand D:

  • You are right! I missed up 2 death scenes in total. But who cares at all, if some people want to play this game for itself and figure something new out (for example: spells, which I did not use often)? I hope, that people enjoying in this.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm not nitpicking or anything; it's definitely a great playthrough, and you must have tremendous patience to have gone through with it. I mean, hell, it's an Elvira game.

Are there any plans on doing Personal Nightmare, though? That was a pretty creepy one too.

  • Amen to this game! :-)

  • Wow.. The death scenes that creeped me out the most were when you lose your eyes. Something about a head devoid of eye balls scares the living shit out of me.

  • the best game ever!!!

  • FINALLY!!! I got to see the end of this! Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Man each death scene is pretty damn creepy to be honest...

  • lawl. i stumbled on these amiga games and realized how creepy ALL the deaths are

  • Amazing! I loved it!

  • my absolute favorite amiga game. no game can beat this great atmosphere. i loved the dark music.

  • Finally... FINALLY!

I have searched for sooo long for either the two games or a longplay, it's almost an RPG on it's own... Thank you so much for uploading!

  • Bless you! :) i've looked long for a video of someone conquering this game. I wish I had time before work to watch all of this.

  • Played this game a loooooong time ago and never got to finish it. For a long time I wondered how to get past certain puzzles and what the end looked like. Thanks for posting!

  • Did I already mention that I love you guys?! ;-)

I finished this one, too. But I didn´t believe I would see anything of its beautiful graphics (and death scenes ;-)) again in my whole life. Fantastic atmosphere. Todays games completely fuck up in comparison.

  • I loved this game! I'm so glad to see it played from beginning to end. I always ended up with my head in the stew or getting my eyes plucked out by a hawk.

  • Love this game, hated the damn 7 floppys though.. and the evil recipe book... best music ever... thanks for the upload

  • Thanks!

I loved this game but i never came past the big monster with the rock.

Nice to se someone finish the game! :) Thanks!

  • It's VERY sad that today's adventures are not as good as monkey island or maniac mansion.

  • So try "Zak McKracken - Between Time & Space", you won´t be disappointed ;)

    Thx 4 this upload cubex55!

  • i already have it XD

  • Wow..you defeated Captain of the Guards without any spells.

  • Holy crap, I can't believe back in the 90's I wasn't told about how good this game looks, or why I never saw it in the shops back then.

    This looks awesome.

  • thanks for this great upload! This game has been a pain in my back since early 90s. Never been able to solving this game on my own, glad I see someone did it for me! :P

  • It's like waxworks! a mix of RPG, adventure and horror game!

  • 1000 thx for this upload :)

  • My favorite game!!!! Only with AMIGA you can feel the passion

  • This game holds some of the strongest videogame memories from my youth. I remember being scared OUT OF MY MIND from the death scenes (pretty traumatic for an 8 yearold!) but I pressed through and actually beat it. Please do an Elvira 2 as well (with the death scenes at the end of course!) Thanks for taking the time to make these! This is one of the best adventure games I have ever played, I HOPE they revive this game style somehow

  • Will there also be a sequel of the game's sequel, Jaws of Cerberus? I'd love to see that.

  • thank you very much for the upload!! Because i requested this earlier im so happy ^^. This game is really like you said one of the best horror-adventures ever with an great soundtrack!

thank you!! nice greetings from an austrian amigafreak

  • Such an awesome game. The introduction and the whole setting is great.

  • I love this game!

  • I LOVE THIS GAME AND I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • Zeeks this is creepy. But that's the point, so well done horrorsoft. The death scenes aren't NEARLY as creepy as waxworks', though.

  • Speaking of which, I wonder if we could see a longplay of that...

  • There is a longplay of Waxworks too, just search our channel for it :).

  • I was the main tester for the american version, lol. :) Thanks for the memories. These adventures were some of the best. Did horrorsoft make any other games after Cerberus?

  • Are you serious? Wow! :-D

  • They made Waxworks, a seriously cool game using the Elvira engine.
