Thanks Jonesy. From watchin your video and tips on sodering, I was able to detecta tone and noise problem on my Tokai ls 50 with manlius pick ips. I had a very poor connection on lead wire and pot connection for the neck pick up. Cleaned the pot and made a good solid coonection..problem solved,a nd now I can really hear those pups nice and clear. Dum question: why do you need to put those covers on the caps?

Your welcome, glad it helped you with your own trouble shooting project.

I put the yellow cloth shields on the cap leads to help keep them from shorting out against the pots. Some caps come with the plastic over the metal case for the same reason.
