  • Amazing film & wonderful singing

  • Thief!!! It is not good to steal the ideas of ppl!

  • The middle east. Or anywhere. Samsara.

  • i think it should be wolf that eat the lamb, not cat. yes or no???

  • 5 minutes of a crying girl ... i dont get it ?

  • @VinceLP then again, it IS Natalie Portman.

    thought the film could've been better though.

  • @VinceLP that s the point. you don t get it

  • just as a pointer, don't know if it will help in any discussions on meaning, however, Taleh is a lamb and Gadee (Gadiyah in Aramaic) is a kid, a baby goat. Or at least I have been told. Great Vid!!

  • i watched this movie 600 times and still love, hanna laslo is the most amazing actress they should give her oscar in this movie, and natalie portman is so cute all the way

  • I dare anyone not to cry to the song...

  • Hello you all. I´m searching for the song the three women heard in the radio while they were driving together in the car to the border. Please help me !

  • watched the film yesterday on arte. was very impressed, very good film. the song you´ve been searching for is "ein ani". performed by a band called "the fools of prophecy" (helicon records).

  • the song: Ein Ani, the lyrics: Roi Levi, performed by: The fools of phrophecy.

    I like that one too, hope you will get this!!!!

  • If you understand the song, the lamb becomes the Angel of Death.

    lamb=dog=fire=ox=angel of death

    cat=stick=water=butcher

    And even : angel of death=butcher=cat=lamb

    I don't know who I am...

  • are these subtitles real...?

  • todah rabbah chava!!!!

  • good work!!!!

  • good work!!!!

  • Beautiful. The added verse is good too.

  • who sings this song?

  • Hava Albershtein

  • the lamb! the lamb!

  • All are equal to the dog : the one who kills in response, in retaliation. The dog is the first in the circle. Not the lamb. the lamb is the one which is lost by all others, he is out of the circle.

  • Interesting. Thanks for the input. I'm not sure if this is actually a circle as it never gets back to the beginning (in this version at least, which is the only one I know), it is more of a succession. I think that the beginning of the song is only a background story for what follows. If the narrator claims to be the "meek lamb" at first, and asking only 4 standard questions, she would never be able to break out of the cycle, or become lost in the very beginning like you say. Lets talk about it

  • "And everything is starting again" : violence is cyclical. It is also pointed in greek mythologie, specially in Aeschylus' Oresteia.

    After thinking about it, I find the lamb in the circle as well : "How long will that circle of horror last ? of persecutor and persecuted, of executioner and victim ?" That is to say, for it to be a circle something strange should happen : "I was a meek lamb and I become a tiger and a wild wolf". Victim of my persecutor, persecutor of my victim...

  • The alternative is : shall I be a dog or a lamb ? The one who kills in retaliation or the one who is killed without reason ? We should note that violence always defines itself as a response, a self-defense or retaliation, even if there was no other violence before it begins. If you want peace, do not respond as violence always claims to be a response. See for example the German comedy of frontier incident when they attacked Poland, with German soldiers dressed in Polish one...

  • the lamb,the lamb.
