Sounds like mine. I have a '66 P bass too. I can usually hear the late '65,'66 and '67 era P basses right away from the others. Hot pickups on those things,,growling with a bright piano sound when picked and a heavy low end below low G..almost drops out on a lot bass amps unless you're eq'd a bit.. Glad to see it being played,. There's a lot of '66 Ps out there and these days can be had a for bargain. I'd buy another one over that overpriced Custom Shop stuff any time. Enjoy.
ups, i just removed a comment from user greenfuzzz16 - sorry.
"where or how did you get this guitar??"
a friend bought it -unplayable- through ebay germany (the bass has it's story in hamburg). the neck had to be repaired (straighten in a complex process), then i took over ;)
for me, the tubefactor is the ONLY device that can fake the authentic sound of a tubeamp with any amp, IF not the amp itself is the better device. means: if you've got a real GOOD fulltube amp, you don't need the TF. i don't speak about a hybridamp with fake-tube-preamp! think of marshall superbass/superlead, ampeg svt etc. ... for bass you will only need channel 1 - channel 2 is moshing - and much too loud! with channel 1 you get from "tube-flair" to really heavy distortion.
En slap , toutes les basses sonnent pareil , c'est qu'une question de réglage à l'ampli . Difficile à apprécier la # entre vintage et réissue dans ces conditions ...
thank yor for the compliment - but it is REALLY no song ... just a spontaneous jam with a fantastic resonating bass (cool amp too, but in real life (and live) situations i play an ampeg V4BH + 15").
try the groove with open A an fiddle around. YOU DON'T NEED TABS AT ALL!
i would bet the delay got worse over time. don't know why. my vid with the white bass had delay from the beginning i couldn't repair. but this with the '66 hadn't notable delay after upload.
today i saw (and heard) this vid again after a long time. awful! :-(
It sounds cool though, but my friends also tell me that I have a very special slap taste, so the jazz bass has a more... I don't know how to explain it-sound :p
word up! but at least that bass is being played, not sitting in a show room. the bass is where the bass wants to be. it wants to be slapped. just like tina turner.
Just what the world needs, another slapping geek disgracing the ROCK N" ROLL bass.

maxxmil6969....you are a retard.
there is an obvious buffer or lack of the audio to video.
you retard.
home videos, computers, and internet, or CAT5/Ethernet connections all have lags from actual video.
As an actually Degree holder in Film, it is current that you have to lag the audio to the video or psuh the video back to the audio time sequence.
maxxmil6969, stop playing bass, instead, pick up a time machine, and realize the only chance you could of had was that promotion at Wendy's.

In my opinion the jazz bass is better for slapping because of it's medium tone.
