  • Mine doesn't even give a stereo mix option.

  • thanks man worked perfectly!

  • Doesn't work for me. It's either Stereo mix or Microphone for me, get back at me about this?

  • @KidArez go to playback, and tune up your rear or front pink in(depends on what pink u put your mic in) and then you should be able to see the green bar go up at stereomix when u talk, which means it works

  • very good video ,thumbs up

  • dude... I owe you a lot... it worked!

  • You can't do this with USB mics because they are driver-based.

  • @TheRollingCubes i have used a usb microphone. I have come here because its been a while and now i dont remember how to set it up so that the usb microphone may work with stereo mix.

  • By the way, for some reason, this usually doesn't work with built in microphones. I have no idea why.

  • I was wondering why my stereo mix wasn't working & saw you had your audio plugin on speaker, not headphones. F.y.i. for those who use mainly the headphone plugin.

  • Thank You!

  • @nico53595 You're welcome :) Please check out my main channel for lots more vids like this.

  • Oh my god! Very nice tutorial! But i have XP...

  • thank you so much :3 it finally works!

  • Thank you, helped me to enable stereo mix in windows 7 !

  • I have no option for "Front Pink In".

  • what if i have a usb mic?

  • Yea that would probably fix it, but it would mean buying a new soundcard. Theres a cheaper way to get this effect, it involves using a program called Audacity and a feature called Software Playthrough. Google should be all you need for this. Hope tht helps some. =]

  • @Lily0408 That means your soundcard doesnt support it.

  • Dude. I can't get this to work. I got everything set up EXACTLY as shown in this video and the mic sound will not go to stereo mix. And yes I unclicked the mute option in the speakers property. Only the computer speaker sound goes to stereo mix. What the dilly yo?

  • how can i get my mic to show on the speakers propertys?

  • thank you for that, helped me a lot

  • I LOVE YOU <333333333

  • IT WORKED! Thanks a lot =]

  • Sadly, my microphone needs the boost dB thing, so how do I get that to work with your tutorial on Windows 7?

  • I went to speaker>properties>level but I don't have that many stuff... I only have Realtek HD Audio Output and PC Beep... Do I have to download something for it??

  • I did exactly as you did, but it doesn't work :/

I know both stereo mix and my mic work perfectly find on their own, but this method just does nothing for me.

  • Thanks man, been looking for a way to do this! Big ups!

  • is it possible even if your using a USB microphone?

  • @pauloross well from what i know... No its not posible with a usb mic since usb is digital and not analog. analog for example a 3.5mm mic which uses the pink port in your computer. Using a 3.5mm mic im pritty sure this would work with one of those. Digital mics fail if your looking 2 do stuff like this. Hope this helps few people

  • I want to have two mics active at the same time...is that possible

  • is there a way to steam music to my microphone with out it picking up game sounds?

  • @xFTHxPokeNerd same thing here my mic isint picked up when sterio mix is enabled

  • Very useful thanks.

  • i love you

  • THIS DOESN'T WORK!!!!!

  • FAIL !

  • hmm? Mine doesn't have an option that says "front pink end"

  • how i can do this in xp plz help me

  • Just wondering, but are you in any way trying to sound like Chris Pirillo? The last 10 seconds of your video sound too similar :D

  • rear pink end... naz

  • This only works if your audio device (sound card) supports two inputs at once! If your device only has a single lane for audio input then you cannot enable and use two inputs at once.

  • I currently have a XPS 1530 with a Sigmatel high def audio codec driver (Stereo mix isn't available with that driver) I noticed on the dell website that they recommend a SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio driver. Does anyone know if this will give me stereo mix?

  • It wont let me set Stereo mix as default!

  • Dies anybody know how to make a tutorial with sound anymore?

  • Does anyone know how to do this with Audacity?

  • anyone know what to do in windows 7?

  • You do the same thing in Windows 7

  • It doesn't work for me, when I enable stereo mix it makes the mic unavailable.

I had to download Virtual Audio Cable to get it going.

  • ahhh that wierd squeeky sound when i turn the mic volume up!!! help!! its annoying everyone!!

  • Thank you very MUCH!

  • i cant find the xp version can u post a link or sen me an email pls and tnx

  • can I do this in a laptop? I've been trying to do this with my Toshiba, but when I open the Realtek Audio manager, there is no playback volume option, only Recording Volume.

  • i dont think so. i have the same issue as you. i just dont think the sound cards are capable of it.

  • same. we need HELP

  • @jamm06fire

It doesn't matter if it is a laptop or not, it matters if you have Windows 7 or it depends on the type of audio card you have. Check if your drivers are fully updated as well, btw.

P.S. I know this comment was 8 months ago, but whatever.

  • @halolwtf

I have Windows 7 and it doesn't work with me. :(

Any idea on what I could do?

  • @jamm06fire same here. . .i think we have the same laptop!

  • I tried this on BlogTv and microphone still does not work , any ideas? All it plays is Video stream audio from realtek mixer. Can I add realtek mixer software that will allow both in playback? Thanks

  • I am not concerned with recording, only being able to talk along with my Video stream ?? any ideas, I know it can be done, I have seen people do it on BlogTV, but no one responds on how they are doing it.

  • So After Doing These Configurations I Select Stereo Mix To Record With?

  • Thank you, been trying to figure this out for weeks

  • The options in the video odn't show in for me, I'm using a laptop D:

  • what driver version you use?and what realtek version?

  • thank you so much : )

  • how do you do it if you have a usb mic?

  • Brilliant tutorial thanks. Didn't realise this was so simple :3

  • erm do u know how to set default devices in xp?

  • Thank you Thank you Sir..

  • lol at the end you ripped off cris pirillo's line

  • I dont think it works with mic headsets at all right?????

  • mine does not work I set the stereo mix as default make it show disable devices and show disconnected devices, for the playback I removed the mute playback option for front pink in and it does not let me use both as when I set the stereo mix to default the little meter next to the microphone goes away the meter to the right where it shows it moving when I would talk .

  • i get the same problem i can set 1 to default an the other one i cant enable the enable option aint there

  • almost...no medal. That last box did not have pink in or whatever you said. You need to ZOOM in on that screen. My choices are (5) Realtek HD Audio output; microphone, line in, side, center. Any idea how to make THAT work?

  • you need to zoom in so we can see.

  • yo i was wondering if my laptop doesnt show stereo mix do i need to buy one???

  • Good tutorial, but one question: When I do that, I can hear myself, is there any way to avoid this?

  • I don't have those options since my mic is built in and I have a laptop, I don't know if that'll work though

  • i got it to work... with my webcam microphone which is horrible. My headset doesn't work.

  • what if my mic is in the back? I can't seem to do anything about it.

  • it won't work for me pleas help.

when i go to levels, only 2 things show up

1 is realtek HD audio output

    2 is PC beep.

how do i get the other levels to show up?

  • The problem is with your soundcard, it does not support this feature. I have the same issue as you unfortunately. From what I understand there's nothing you can do about it.

  • Thank you SO MUCH

  • mine doesnt show levels

  • worked great for me with. looking at the posts some of you have missed a step. follow the instructions and listen carefully.

  • Mine doesn't have a green check. :(

  • same

  • i don`t get it i hav a vista it didn`t work

  • "Now you can't hear me, now you can hear me"

    Fail?

  • yeah what he said

  • @RyanRiopel lol I think you have to hit apply.

  • @RyanRiopel yeah, what an idiot lol, he tried to tell us that we couldn't hear him

  • i have creative sound card it's not working

  • it probably works just it doesnt work with my usb headset

  • oh my god cmon. i have sterio mix and stuff and have no clue how to record with it

  • it doesn't work with my usb mic

  • how about in XP.... i wana use mic and stereo at the same time .... plz help

  • In xp ,click your sound icon in taskbar... click recording .tick stereo mix... untick everything else.. then click playback ..make sure mic is unticked and not muted... now you should be able to play music and talk all at once good luck :)

  • also to keep sound nice and clear.. make sure your wave in volume playback is only half way up and volume a little higher next to it.. to make sure music is not distorted..hope this helped :)

  • I'm having the same problem with the new Windows Live Messenger 2009, I have 'Stereo Mix' enabled in Windows Vista Recording tab but it doesn't appear when I do the Audio/Video setup in WLM. itself... it seems to me that Microsoft could have disabled this for good not unless it's something wrong with my hardware, plz pm me if u find a solution thanks!!!
