this could have uses outside of the home protection market. make a ruggedised unit that has built in aiming mechanisms. use it at airsoft games. find a nice hill, quickly mount it at the start of the game with a high cap mag and shoot them away from your base from the comfort of a safe bunker

an interesting issue, the turret is confined to 180 degrees of yaw, say the intruder went outside the arc and disabled it from behind...or ever stole it along with anything else lol. strategic mounting cound get rid of this issue, but for widespread commercial use this may be a problem. an idea would be to mount it in a corner on a cieling and give it better two axial movement.
