nice car...but v12 engine only producing about 350kw - 380kw?...not powerful enough especially from a v12.

The r35 gtr n/a (limited edition 25 will be made) v8 4.4 ltr produces about 400kws...something is not right....and cost half the price of the aston......makes you think?

@razehey you cant compare the GTR and the DBS Volante. one is a "budget" performance car while the Aston is a luxury, refined sports cruiser made for comfort and long distances.

The GTR is downright ugly compared to the Aston and far less classy and luxurious. That alone makes an Aston worth more than the GTR.

And I love the GTR, getting one in the future, so im not a hater.

strange how a 6l v12 (510bhp) lighter car and more aerodynamic has a top speed of only 190mph when a bmw 5l v10 (507bhp) weighs more and has less aerodynamics can go 204mph. i doubt its the gear ratio...?

DB9 weighs 176 lbs more than the v12 vantage

DB9 goes 0-60 in 4.6 secs vs v12 vantage 0-60 4.1 secs

top speed DB9 190 mph, v12 vantage 190

at least the DBS does 191 mph

@carsmything302 Higher HP does NOT equal to higher top speed, the more horsepower you have all it means it the faster it will hit its speed limiter or top speedw/e that factory number may be. The reason why its top limited is because of low quality parts that are NOT designed for higher speeds, or it simply creates problems after seeing those high speed numbers

It's a big disappointment that the Vanquish was disconinued. I mean, all these new Astons look like the DB9, which was a lower end model than the Vanquish. I think Aston was doing much better under Ford's management.

The DBS shares 4 body panels with the DB9. The suspension has been altered and upgraded. The engine, too, has been completely overhauled. The pistons have been altered, and the propshaft is now made of carbon fibre. Parts-wise, this car shares much more with the new V12 Vantage than it does with the DB9, which is a Gran Turismo, not a supercar/tourer, like the DBS.

If your American, I forgive you. If your British, shame on your lack of Aston Martin knoledge.
