You have got to start a aquaponic grow system you feed the maggots to your fish the fish provide nutrients to your plants and you get food all the way around. You could even pick up road kill animals feed them to your maggots and harvest delicious veggies and fish. Google these processes I thinl this process would be the best way to sustain your family should we have a total grid failure in the event of a massive revolution.
Thanks for the comment! Actually they are soldier flies, not the nasty kind that you see eating feces. They don't cause many problems, but do eat all of the bad stuff and recycle it.
Wow! But isn't that ALOT of maggots? And what about the flys that come afterwards? Are they bothersome? I assume they keep the cycle going - maggot to fly and fly lays maggots, and so on.
Do they eat the plastic too?
