My personal input is that if you spend time trying to exhaust your particular interest in whatever musical genre and or taste, you won't have time to dog on who is and who is not. Just get into it. Be as great a listener as the musician or musicians you prize.

She has no voice. It is not deep, not projective, not even musical. Her style borders on talking instead of singing. She doesn't know true singing, and never will, so she mimicks + carries a front. A real singer is someone like Michael Buble. Her piano playing is hardly original. She tries to play like her hero Monty Alexander but he is a master compared to her. She can't play solo because she only knows a few blues lick and ain't no Ramsey Lewis. She'z jus a talented college student

Olusjuliet2000, musically speaking, Diane Krall has a 2nd rate voice. That is an obersable fact. Her sense of rythme is not quite on the groove. Her jazz arrangements are very tasteful and beautiful but her blues funk sound doesn't quite kick it. Her piano playing is better than her singing by far. She should let a true singer into her band.  And why do people call her 'pretty" with that gaunt face, pointy nose, and uncoiffeured hair? She looks more like a typical anglo beach bum.

Her piano playing is a poor copy of Monty Alexander and Nat King Cole. Mhen she sings people would chuckle inside wondering how a dipsey blondie can connect to the Blues but I guess only the white public is buying it.
