  • im filipino and i live in colorado!!!!

  • in the philippines they do the match with no paddings. winner take all.

  • yes like the traditional.some part of our homeland practice it without pads.u whack it carefully.doug anderson got one nasty welt on da hips & jason of human weapon's thumb got smashed.

  • Thumb bashing! lol! I like that!

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO. Arnis is the most respected Martial Arts of all!

  • all pilipino got owned by me

  • fuck you you cant own me

  • you'll get murdered if you say that to my face!

  • lol

  • What with your canadian mullet? Have you been to a fight or war WITH or AGAINST filipinos? Ask the americans. fucking idiot.

  • i carried my kali every day in my bag when i went to school.

    my weapon of choice...always.

  • the phillipines wooot!

  • it is called kali, or formally in the muslim south it is called silatan.

  • I remember fighting in a WEKAF tournament.

I varied footwork and strikes, I even blocked a lot which is really rare to see. Hell, I even disarmed the guy. And I lost?????

    Anyway, mostly everyone was nice.

  • we pinoy's are bomb

  • i wanna learn this!!1..

  • Kali was banned in the day bcuz it was deadly

  • escrima is better.

  • I taught they were almost the same discipline?

  • i think so...here in cebu many people practicing KALI martial arts....they perform in WATERFALLS....Kali is deadly.....Kali is specialize by police special forces unit....ESCRIMA is specilize by MARINE special forces...

  • They are the same. I think Kali is from Luzon, Eskrima from Visayaz and i forgot the other one. Correct me if im wrong. Also it started in Visayaz.

  • haha, Tivo!

  • picture them sparring without those body shields... that would be brutal

  • I thank Spain for being in the Philippines for 377 years because, they made the Pilipinos create their martial arts to fight them off...

  • hey spain did not make Filipinos create the blade art... kali was there long before spain

  • spain didnt make it but it influenced it to what it is today its a fuzion of the pre spanish and the pro spanish styles.

  • haha spain isnt the only one who should get the credit tho... china.. japan... indonesian n malaysians..

  • yes.

  • no jose, spain didnt have any influence. maybe some words, but not with filipino malay blade fighting. it is mostly from silat.which evolved in the phils.

  • josuelitos, you're wrong dude. The filipino fighters that faced the Spanish invaders used this indigenous martial arts against the western invaders. This native filipino martial arts pre-dates spanish colonialization. I hope you check your facts before posting anything.

  • LONG LIVE FILIPINOS!!!!!!!!! mabuhay!!!

  • Kali/Eskrima is pre-spanish. Magellan was killed by Lapu-Lapu when they landed in Mactan. Lapu-Lapu used Eskrima/Kali. Eskrimador fought toe to toe against Japanese samurai swords, Spanish bayonets.

  • Lapu-Lapu used his own eskrima style.. Pakamut...

  • i don't know what you call it coz i think there are 3 major types. from luzon, visazayas and mindanao i think..

  • They already had it... but used to fight against thenselves.

  • the sensei was awesome!

  • The Filipino people were not called Filipinos during the Spanish colonization of that area in the world during the 16th century. They were called Indios or Chinos. The Spaniards (People of Spain) born in the Philippines were the ones called Filipinos. The Spanish treated the natives harshly. That's why they developed better martial arts methods, even though there were already martial arts there.

  • thanks for the lesson homedudepedroski. you're definitely right.

  • yeah, you're right. to add to that, the Spaniards called the people Indios or Chinos in a derogatory way.

  • he helped promoting the film.

  • Filipino Martial Art of Kali Silat was the style that was choreographed for the movie "300".

  • since you're an instructor, maybe you could post more videos of arnis here in youtube so many people would appreciate and have interest on it ... free publicity naman d2... hehehe... just a suggestion.

  • Apology accepted dude, yup..we actually have one posted already here in youtube and we are planning to add more.and we are trying to contact local media here in the Philippines for assistance in the promotion of Filipino Martial Arts.I am glad you are one of those who appreciates filipino martial arts..Mabuhay ka kapatid..take care..

  • i dont feel that it is less appreciated... well, we are entitled to have our own opinions naman.. thats just what i think...

i apologize if i hit hard on you..

  • Lol I love the TiVo thing on the bottom of the screen lol ;P

  • yeh, the kind of stick fighting which terrorize the japanese soldiers at the time of world world II. i can see how gay it is.

  • roger, they used blades brw. not sticks. ignorance is gay brw.

  • thats true but Inosanto guys where there to choreograph the fight and indeed they used FMA.

  • hmmm i like this type of style

  • take styles for what they are. all this macho shit gets annoying when people say "oh, i train with this and that and we dont fight with armor" give me a break...seriously

im not hating not any style or system, just annoyed at how some "practitioners" regard other styles as inferior.

that being said, very nice video...keep training and spreading the FMA

  • anyone that fights without the body armor has my respect just because they got the balls to fight that way, but that doesnt mean that its the best way of fighting. there are some things you wont be able to learn while getting hit and being in excruciating pain, such as different manuevers while fighting close range with an opponent...that requires a lot of skill and knowledge.

  • hilarious news guy. . .pulled a possum!

really. . .FMA is one of the best. I am proud to be a practitioner.

thank you to all the teachers that keep it sacred.

  • It's nice to know that Filipino martial arts is appreciated in a foreign land,Ironically Here in the philippines where it originated only few appreciates it...We always have to prove our craft....

  • arnis!!! it would be cool to learn. i think it would be effective in losing weight too. just not publicized but there are a lot of arnis tournaments going on in the philippines as well. bob0 what are you blabbering about?

    hindi ka ba sportsminded?

bet some cant understand Filipino. Wahaha! i am multilingual..

  • What am I blabbering about??dude if you live in the Philippines you should know that Arnis is less appreciated here..WE instructors of the art have to prove something to other practitioners or even non practitioners to earn their respect.Sports minded ako..pero hindi ako nag aral ng Arnis para gawin itong sport..

  • you don't have to work that hard to earn the "so-called respect". i saw arnis in national geographic channel asia. they were comparing hitting impacts of different fighting styles. kung ano ang pinakalethal. sobra cool talaga.... and kasi high school pa lang ako i know arnis na.. so pretty much i assume that a lot of people know about arnis. nakita ko arnis tournament din sa TV, sa sports unlimited, may players from different countries pa nga.

  • wow!! nice....

  • aabangan namin kayo..noypi style

  • such dangerous martial art should be kept in one dangerous place and thats in philippines

  • well, learn self control.

  • filipino pride bitches!... this kind of stuff should be taught more. Keep our culture alive

  • LOL Chirs cheated! lol. Its a shame that not a

lot of Filipinos take up FMA.

    Bakakan Na!!!!

  • Very nice

  • i used to do that and it's called ARNIS

  • Doce Pares is the gentleman version of FMA. Salute!

  • What system??

    Doce Pares?

  • filipino Pride right der!! ^^ Dat was AWESOME!! thanx 4 uploading!

  • I DIG IT!!!!
