have you ever felt when you go to a public bathroom for females that you dont belong there at all, and feel for go to the mens, but something stop you some inviable text on the door saying "noone without a penis can enter!"? i do feel that, special when women stare at me but when i go with a friend i dont feel that at all, i think it is because then we just talk and walk in and i never think "now i am in the womens bathroom" like i do when i am alone and i also dont notice when ppl look at me xD
You explained it really well. :) I've been really interested in these things too, espacially as I came out like around last summer. I've heard of all kinds of combinations and overlapping of identity, but it never really occured to me that a person can be trans and genderqueer at the same time. I don't know why it took me so long to even think of that possibility. But its really interesting to hear this perspective. The more people talk about these things, the better for all of us.
I'm androgyne, too. lol I get that a lot, too. "male? female?" ..."FUCK YOU!" lol
You really do think about it a lot in the beginning. Unfortunately I was haivng a bit of a 'thinking about it a lot" patch... during finals. Yeesh, that was a nightmare. Couldn't get my mind off it.
Love love love LOVE this. I've sort of struggled with trans vs. genderqueer myself, and I've always kind of felt like maybe they shouldn't have to verse each other in the first place, that maybe both is just what I am. But I could never really figure out how to put that into words, how to explain it. Your video has helped me more than you know, so thank you. :)
And by the way, your t-rex thing made me crack up. xDDDD
This is the first vid of yours that I've seen, and it's awesome! You seem so confident with yourself, defining yourself based on your terms and not everyone else's. Keep it up ;-)
I agree with shawnatyger about having a channel for the partners of trans/genderqueer people. I think they have a tougher time with labels from society because no "straight" person understands how you can love someone without having what parts they have always on your mind.
like i feel like both, and neither, I am biologically female.. but I just dont think I am. Then again I don't really feel like I am a male male, with a beard and etc.
connor does a great job of explaining conflicting emotions and thoughts behind terms used. i love listening to this channel because it helps me realize how society enjoys placing labels on people, and how it becomes frightened when things aren't black and white. i'm excited to watch all videos and support this movement, which i think it is a movement. i hope to see some videos on opinions of prop 8 overturn and being raised in conservative areas. great job!
that makes a lot of sense to me. trans informing your outward physical appearance (the t-rex?) & genderqueer speaking to your more emotional how-you-feel thing (the give you a hug kid). - & i completely agree about society's constructs of feminine & masculine. its fucked up. - when it comes down to it, i think its all about figuring out the "big ball of mess" that is gender/finding what is comfortable for each of us. we are each our own painting to be interpreted. :) ps-yay t-rex t-shirts!
I heart Connor! I can think of a few partners and allies who subscribe to this channel that might be interested in crafting baby Gender the T-Rex t-shirts....
I agree. Gender Rex needs to be drawn and shown to us!
Bringing your awesomeness to youtube=my pleasure. :) :) :)
As awkward and awful as that night was, I'll forever owe you for helping me understand how femininity with masculinity does not equate gayness. Society has trained me so well and though the process may not always be pretty, I am so glad to blow the walls of these gender boxes straight to the stars. :)
I'm cisgender and genderqueer so I kinda relate to this. Thank you :)

And speaking of partners, maybe partners of trans* or genderqueer partners should have a channel? I would watch it...
