  • what kind of bull bar is fitted?

looks like arb, but which model(there are several for defender).

i would like to buy one for my Defy

  • I found out how to get Defenders (including diesel models that get x2 the fuel economy) available in America!!! Step 1: Register to vote. Step 2: Vote for Ron Paul who would then deregulate the market, thereby getting rid of regulation requirements on airbags. Step 3: Once he deregulated the markets, go on down to your local Land Rover dealership and say, "I'd like to buy a Defender please."

  • it would be funny if it floored itself and left him in a cloud of smoke

  • Do these have a hand controlled idle up?

  • got a quesstion for you i can only drive automatics is there any landrovers that has anti stall with a auto box? or does this just work if you put it in 1st low in auto or/and manuel?

  • @GINGERDAVID90

isnt that the idea of an Auto? it shouldnt stall

  • blimey didnt know they could do that

  • those things r fucking bullet proof

  • Hmmm, this must be a weak offroader, when the driver hast to leave the car and push it from outside...

    LOL ;)

  • @sagichdirnich2 fuck up idiot, cant u c how well its designed? it would do a whole lot better than any of todays 4x4s,

  • @1991Timmo : Thanks for your very kind way of saying to me that it is embarrassing to you not to be able to anti-stall this little pitch only by your foot on the accelerator.

  • Fair Dinkum, chuck another shrimp on the barbie sport!

  • Ghostride the whip???lmao

  • Just out walking his Defender, mans best friend

  • That's a real 4x4.... no shittie!

  • that is fair cool!! anti stall kicks ass!!!

  • well nice vid i looked at feed back turbo sport car and 4x4 have the same enimey SPEED

  • thats pretty good, but my 1999 TD5 can go up very very steep hills and it dont have anti stall. just shows how much torque a defender has i suppose. another way to show the amount of torque is if you go low gear 1, you can press the brake really hard and you cannot stall of stop the engine even without antistall

  • They have so much character, they are now like a creature, just crawling away, let's see a hummer(are they making them any more) do that.

  • LMAO @ 1:53

  • my landy's like that.........quicker to get out and walk!!!

  • Anti stall anti what you will not stopp it from falling apart very soon. Biggest crap in the world. Last two cost me double what I paid for them. Useless.

  • @Catfishjoeproduction very sorry to hear that mate, Ive had a 1978 Series III, a td5 90 and now a 130 puma, they have all worked great (the 130 so far, only 30000km on it), its just to service them properly and drive them correctly they are workhorses, tools, not toys. you can tell that by their payload capacity and low consumption small diesel engines. if you want a toy get a wrangler, a samurai or a TOYota.

  • Have a look at my video response, my TD5 stalls!

Or is this not what the anti stall is supposed to avoid?

  • @cty90 Hi,

ECU automatically adds fueling (accelerates), if acc.pedal potentiometer resistance stays unchanged. Another word, if you rest your foot on the accelerator pedal, anti-stall stops working. On your video I can hear human's assistance on accelerating.

Torque is another factor here. Low range 1st is the best friend to Anti-Stall. The speed you move is more like 1st high.

  • @RuslanTD5 Low range in 2nd? They always tell me that is the way yo go for maximum torque?

    Cool video btw

  • ALL td5's have anti-stall

  • A TD5 has anti stall it tries to stay at idle rpm. The Puma goes a bit further in 1Low it goes to 1000 rpm instead off 850 ish so it is a lot stronger. But both engine management systems try to keep that programmed rpm.

  • that's fucking creepy :!?

  • The TD5 doesn't come with anti-stall. Only from the new 2.4TDC (Ford Transit) Engine was this introduced.

These new defenders are easy to spot because of the "power bulge" in the bonnet, which this defender doesn't have.

That said, I've had a TD5 Discovery and now own a 1972 Series III and would NEVER be without a Land Rover!

  • lancewise123, you are a dick! The purpose of anti-stall is to prevent the engine from stalling when it is working under heavy load at very low revs. Thats all. It does this through the engine management system, no tricks.

  • why would it kill someone

  • crazy old aussies ;)

  • jajaja que bueno asi no le hace falta copiloto.

  • he's walking the car:)

  • Ultimate ghost rider :D

  • That isnt anti stall !!!

Anti stall makes the revs pick up as it automatically opens up the throttle a bit, in the vid there is no change in engine noise.

That is just the torque of the engine.

Ramon25D...... all td5 defenders have anti stall, it is already in the ECU

  • it would be funny if the doors jammed somehow and he couldn't get back in to stop. There goes his $100,000 car.

  • priced one today aus$53000 on road.

  • Okay? IT would go up just the same if he was in it

  • What's with this anti stall stuff? ALL diesels will chucg along up a steep hill on tickover anyway - wether it be a Defender or a Rover 400!!!

  • that call's: autopilot! :D

  • no not necessarily. if your vehicle doesnt stall out in deep mud/water you dont run the risk of sucking mud/water into your exhaust and messing something up. its really an awesome perk! and ramond.... gimme yo car!

  • I have a 2006 Td5 but I dont really take it on real off roading, mostly cruising and gravel roads. how much is it to add anti stall? can that be done to all Td5?

  • all td5's have anti stall. Its built into the ecu.

  • I dont think my disco2 TD5 has anti stall, I'll go test it!

  • No, my TD5 Discovery doesn't!

  • Of course it does. All td5's have anti-stall.

1st gear low range, and start to brake. You'll feel the engine add more fuelling to keep it at idle.

If not, theres something faulty with your ECU or engine.

  • yeah, that works, but I stalled it the other

day doing a bit of fourbying, how does this

work?? ALso what country are you in? and

finally, my ecu has been upgraded so

    maybe thats it!?

  • The td5 anti-stall is nowhere near as good as the new puma's, but there is a technique to using it.

Main thing is that anti-stall is overridden when you use the throttle. So 1st gear low range, and dont touch the throttle you'll crawl over things without it stalling. Im in UK, i doubt a uce remap will affect it.

  • So what is the actual purpose of that anti-stall thing? Should it help you to get your vehicle unstuck when noone is there to help you? The truck looks nice, too

    have a nice day

  • purpose of anti stall is if your half way up a hill and have a log or such to move, simply turn it off in low range. move the log, get back in turn the key with NO clutch and off you go again.

  • Except you can do that without anti-stall. It's just gearing and the starter motor.

  • es una mierda
