The minute hand determines the speed of the clock. If its at 12, the clock is stopped. 6 makes it go super fast and 9 makes it all crazy.

The first time i did this level, I dont know what was wrong with the clock, nothing was working right, it would go REALLLY fast, then REALLY slow, And Everything wouldnt go on a pattern, and the Tredmill Things would go forwards and backwards, man it was intense, and very hard, and i have already beatin the game with all the stars using no walkthroughs so im just watching this video to see if there was a easier way of doing it, because the way i did it was like hell.

You actually can do this with it stopped, but you have to do it differently, you go to the platform underneath the thomp, jump onto (DON'T BREAK) the yellow block, long jump to the wall, and walljump to the thwomp. It's not too hard.

On the DS version of this game, this star can be done with the clock stopped (by entering at 12) and using Luigi. Just go up to the very top and once you get to the last set of yellow turning cubes (you can see the thromp in the distance when standing there) and stand at the innermost corner at the very edge and do a backflip. When Luigi is spinning after the flip, you can direct him right into the thromp area quite easily and get the star.

This level's changed drastically in the DS remake...this one seems a WHOLE lot harder. Especially with the rotating triangular platforms (both horizontally and vertically) and no railings.
